Hey! I don't know why I don't post on here more...PK would say I'm too lazy to move from thread to thread and she'd be right, lmao! PK, remember when you used to fuss me ( and someone who will remain nameless... Ditto) for randomly posting whatever at the wrong threads....good times! You're the best! Anyway...like I said at prattle I'm continuing a series that I started many years ago by Elizabeth Peters...the heroine is Amelia Peabody, and they're mysteries set in Egypt...lot of mummies and tomb robbing! They're fun reading. I'm also rereading...via Nook, which I absolutely love cos it's so easy to get books right when you want them...another of E Peters' mystery series featuring Vicky Bliss...very light read but fun. I finished the Hunger Games trilogy awhile back and they were soooo good! My nieces love them and it's so much fun to talk books with them and they seem to enjoy it, too! We're eagerly awaiting the first Hunger Game movie next week. My little sis said Sarah...my younger niece...and her best friend have made Tshirts and little posters to wear and bring on opening day! I'm pretty sure that if her older sister, Katie, can make it home from college, she will be a part of the excitement, too! They're wonderful young ladies! Like Rainbow...and PLuto?...I've read the Shakespeare books and really love them. Charlaine Harris writes a good book and good women characters. I also recommend the Harper Connelly series...first is Grave Sight...about a young woman who was hit by lightning and can now find dead people...which sounds but her talent is really in locating missing people. She and her step brother have turned it into a business. Good read, too! ;D As always, I'm patiently waiting for a new Harry Dresden and Sookie Stackhouse...sigh!

I've loved all Charlaine Harris' different series now and wish she'd write some more If anyone hasn't read The Host which is a Stephanie Meyer (Twilight) book - it is a completely different genre but a fantastic read. Highly recommended

Ditto, I'm impressed with the variety of books you read! I'm such in a rut always looking for the same kind of books. Which reminds me....Karen Moning writes a Fever Series about fae which is really good and since there's several, it's something you can look forward to! Think Darkfever is the first!

I'm a bit like one of my favourite authors Sue Townsend (Adrian Mole), she says she always has to have something to read, doesn't matter what it is! Mum's gone mad on People's Friend magazines she can't get enough of them...

Not sure what People's Friend magazine is... Wonder if there's a US version of it? Have any of you read the Game of thrones? The HBO series is starting a second season and the Entertainment mag has alot to say about it, and I don't get HBO, but from what I'm reading, it seems like it might be a really good read?

We have Game of Thrones on Sky Atlantic but I don't get that channel. I think NN does. Mmmmm, Sean Bean The Book People have The Hunger Games books all for £4.99 so I shall send off for them or order online My mum has The People's Friend mag every week. I like the seasonal specials as they're ok frothy reads for holidays or the beach plus you get puzzles

Hey! Forgot to mention that I got my latest Sookie fix....Dead Reckoning. ;D I ordered the hard cover cos I want to complete my Sookie collection! Trying to pace myself as usual, but not sure if I can make it last much longer, lol! According to an ad I saw, there is only one more Sookie book coming...next May...Dead Forever.... Not sure if that's a foreboding title, but I hate to see Sookie end. I found one of Charlaine Harris' other series...Aurora Teagarden...when I was moving stuff to paint. Rainbow, was it you who read these, too? Or wanted to? Nice little mystery series...not in the same league character wise as Sookie, but still a good read! I tend to reread her books whenever I'm between books, lol!

I didn't either! I must check out Sookie...wonder if Deb's read her? I just finished All Clear by Connie Willis, was hard going but worth it in the end, it's the sequel to Blackout which was also hard going. I'm just about to start Donald E Westlake's last book before he popped his clogs but it's a hard crime rather than a crime caper, but I'll still give it a whirl, especially as Stretford Library bought it especially for me.

Ok...I've been reading....alot...cos I'm hooked on this book! Actually, these books...there's 3. I thought it was all silly and hyped up, but then Mindy was reading it, and she lol and told me I should try them. First one is called Fifty Shades of Grey.... The whip should actually be spanking the of the submissive smiley! ;D Cos it's all about a handsome, but....screwed up...guy who's looking for submissives for him to dominate, but meets lovely, freespirited, intelligent...virgin...oh yea...you know this can only lower the tone of our book thread, lmao! I'm reading the second one...Fifty shades darker, and have already downloaded the third...Fifty shades Freed to my Nook. Poor Nook is spent...all that and and and just took it right out of her! ;D The fun part is that it was written as a fan fic for...I think Twilight, but not really sure...will have to look again, and it was so popular with fans that they urged her to have it published! Sounds like someone we all know and love to read! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifty_Shades_Of_GreyWell...it's not everyone's but it entertains me...
