I've kept away from other boards since the news broke, partly because I was still shocked, but mostly because I knew that there would be a backlash towards James and his decision. Yes I shall miss going to gigs and waiting eagerly for new songs, but I have great memories, I can still listen to the music, and hopefully continue to follow the careers of James and the other members of the band. James was , and is, first and foremost an actor, and was never able to make a full commitment to the band; that they managed to get together and create so much good music in such a short space of time was a testement to the talent and drive of ALL the band members. They packed a great deal into their 2 years together, and these guys have the goods to go far in whatever direction their talent takes them.....I wish them all well

Hey! Well, usually I'm an optimist..... , but I have to say....hmmmmm, to this! I'm hoping he's not counting chickens before they hatch... I'm of the opinion that he is a perfectionist and he knew his voice was only adequate on many of the songs, not all, but many, and that was not satisfactory to him. He admitted himself that he wasn't happy with his voice... and drunk the last two shows?? I think this new venture came at the right time and allowed to him to bow out (sorta) gracefully...... I know lots of you will disagree with that, but that's okay! I'm married to a Leo and they love to succeed and do well at whatever they do....competitive and bossy, too, lol! But I still love him for the way his acting makes me feel and his wonderful speaking voice in the Harry Dresden books.....sigh....lovely!

Ghost received this message from Steve: Thanks to all for making these past couple years so much fun. Charlie and I will of course finish the new record this summer and are planning for a fall tour as Gods of the Radio. The new material is our best work so far, songs which we have yet to perform on stage.
Thank you for your support.

Kevin and Sean - "Wherefore art thou??" Looking on the bright side, at least they will still be GotR ;D

Thinking about it though, if Steve and his little bro are planning on a proper tour in the Fall, the other guys would be back in college.

I'm married to a Leo and they love to succeed and do well at whatever they do....competitive and bossy, too, lol! *cough* For a wee little moment there I was tempted to make a comment about Pisces who have to pick up the pieces and finish the job that those endearing but sometimes a bit overly enthusiastic Leos started... but then I remembered PK and her whip that I wanted to be mature about things... ;D However - thank you Steve, thank you Charlie, and I hope Kevin and Sean will somehow be on board for this as well. It's not the same but it is really something to look forward to. Makes me feel a lot better. (Besides, I was SO close to writing a long-winded and tearful farewell letter to Charlie . Now I don't have to. Believe me, Charlie, the fact that you won't have to read through all my drabble alone is worth every minute of work you're gonna put into this new album!) ;D Yes, it would be nice to have some of the songs we got to hear already on the new album. Don't know if that will be possible though. *sniff* How long will it take until I completely forget the melody to "Katie"? Edited: Just saw this on the GotR Board: Sean obviously will not join GotR (2nd ed.), but Kevin will be there. www.gotr-forums.net/index.php?showtopic=502

I was just about to post the info...maybe Kevin is finished with school by then? I think they will seriously miss Sean. How to fidn a third brilliant drummer who fits in so well... Anyway, Ghost posted this message from Steve Gods of the Radio has a new website nearly completed. Our new self titled album should be done by the end of summer and ready for fall, with perhaps a single sometime soon.
We will now be able to go full throttle with the music. Kevin will of course be with us; Sean, however, will not.
-Steven Sellers
A new website nearly completed? Days after the split announcement? It took them long enough to set up the first one... So maybe not such a shock?

No, obviously not such a shock. Well, it looks like they are moving onward I'm glad. I had a feeling it would all turn out okay said with a smug look on her face!

Ghost has just posted the whole message from Steve regarding the new album (see link above) and it has some more info. That's - hm. Not so nice. Now if I only knew what to do: or or --- Oh, come on, James...*decides not to do anything and wonders where the heck Bad Lauterberg is instead...*

err, just read that and ummm i dont really know what i think about that That's exactly how I feel, JIG. I keep refreshing the page on the GotR board in hope of a change of the wording, lol. Maybe - some kind of misunderstanding? Communication was always a bit of a problem in the band if I remember correctly.

no idea, whats weird is that if the gods of the radio website is nearly up and running they must have known about it but then Steve says he only found out like we did, i dont understand it and i'm not going to try to, no one knows what exactly went on and we never will

Oh how lovely to have this board so I can come and say WTF!!! . . That message from Steve would have been best edited It had an air of dirty linen and sour grapes I wonder if Steve Himber knows? I get the feeling that if Steve and Charlie have had a plan B for quite some time that all has not been well in the state of Denmark . Yet somehow now it's all James' fault And I just have to say that if the new album is rerecorded minus James I shan't buy it so there ner . The whole thing has put me in a filthy mood . all of this stuff should be sorted out behind the scenes and a proper statement issued .. not dealt with in pissy E Mails however much permission they are posted with. And James doesn't go on line so he can't defend himself at the mauling he's probably gonna get over this Damn I'm irked and an a state of peturbation so I'd better shut the hell up or I'll say something I might regret

i completely agree with you about airing dirty laundry in public i mean everyone has been bashing james and this has just added more fuel to the fire, i dont understand why they cant sort this out behind the scenes or at least refrain from making comments about the break up and just let fans know what the future holds

So there with you! That's the kind of stuff I really don't want to know about - whoever is to blame or not to blame on whatever. They're adults, the five of them, they should be able to sort this out privately. Oh, hey. I found Bad Lauterberg on the map!
