Unfortunately we are used to being shunted over to the sides It's not always the case but it is another subtle form of discrimination. As for ramps, venues are obliged to offer access, although sometimes what they say is accessible is anything but (The Cavern, anyone, or The Scala). The church itself looks so splendid, but I can totally see what you mean NN, about acoustics and obstructed views.

Tickets are on sale NOW! Call: 0870 163 3833 PK - I've sent you an IM. I've booked my tickets, but I'm not quite sure how it's going to work. ETA: I took my daughter to one concert at the NEC in Birmingham and they sat us at the side on the arena floor. Everyone in front of us stood up, so my daughter couldn't see a thing. I caused such a fuss that night! They ended up giving us free tickets to another show. I'm quite shy in RL, but when it comes to my daughter (or disabled rights in general), I don't stand for being pushed around.

To be quite honest, I'm not really bothered if I don't get to St James' ...I think he'll be doing the same set at the Mermaid, and the view and acoustics are much better . If I do go to St James...and I'll prolly get tickets anyway LOL...I think I'd prefer to be upstairs! Oh for fecks sake...what am I like?...I've just bought 2 tickets for downstairs

Okay, I have booked two tickets - one for NL, as well as me as I assume she'll want to go. Disabled will be sorted out on the night, as Cal said. Should be fun, lol!
Oh go on NN! I wasn't relishing being left behind if everyone else was going.

We really must sort out some i.d for everyone ;D I'll have a word with V, though our badge maker seems to have gone kaput, and she's got her mock GCSE's next week, but I'm sure if we put our heads together we can think of something...we have some very talented folks here ;D

I had a really nice booking woman this time, and she was very apologetic not to be able to offer me a disabled discount (I hadn't asked for one!). Most venues do offer reduced ticket prices or even a free ticket for the carer, afterall.
Hee, Cal, we can have wheelie races in the aisle if your daughter's up for it! ;D (for those with no sense of humour, that was a joke. We're not that irresponsible. We'll do that on the road outside instead).
PS - I don't want my name on my chest, ta!

That's the most visible part of me ;D Especially when I'm sitting! I'm having more of the "other" badges made for any who need/want them, too.

I'm sure she will be, PK. She's very good at wheelie races! I forget sometimes that people might not see the funny side when I make remarks like that. You have to keep your sense of humour, though...and wheelie stampedes can be fun! LOL! ;D
