I think you can see where I get my stubborn streak from can't you ? ;D
As we left , the brothers were dropping like flies...Mick with food poisoning , Terry with a kidney infection , and Pat with exhaustion from flying between London and Poland and driving up to Yorkshire and back in a weekend ! I'm just beyond tired , but I think I might finally be able to get more than an hour or so's sleep for the first time in a week !

Just popping in to say Mum passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of this morning . Feeling sad, and a bit raw , but also relieved that she's finally at peace . I'll be gone for a little while, but wanted to say again how much your thoughts and company have kept me going ...bless you all

NN, so sorry about your mom. Even when you know the end is close, the actual passing is still painful. I hope you and your family make it through this sad time with lots of loving thoughts and a laugh or two with good memories. Sending you big :-/s, sugar......

The funeral service went off without a hitch , which is a first for our family ..no bomb scares or going to the wrong place .
It was a very small affair cos mum outlived a husband , 2 brothers , all her brothers' children , 2 grandchildren and several cousins , her last cousin Tony dying just 2 weeks before , and most of her surviving relatives live in Canada and America , but it was a lovely service for all that .
I know I've said that my brothers have been keeping my spirits up , but is it wrong to be wailing one minute then howling with laughter the next ? Mum would have enjoyed the wake , and I'll leave it there with a story one of her oldest friends told us about the last time she saw my brother Terry ...apparently he was going round and round in a cement mixer ...and now we know why mum and dad left it 10 years before having any more children ;D
