Teenes has updated her Oakland pages with a barrel-load of pics (nice!), and James' Sunday Q&A - here's the link again I'm sorry, but this kinda brings me down On the other hand, the fabulous pics perk me up again! I haven't finished looking, but my fave so far is dsc 2804 (Sat) - I love his expression, and stuff...

Another post from Alane (BAPS) at the close of play: Hi all!
The convention is now over. Just a quick update. James did not announce any new projects. He said there have been some lines in the water but they've all snapped. He is doing auditions.
He said he doubted if he ever worked on a Joss project again -- unless there's a Spike telemovie. He didn't say this in a bad way, just that he and Joss were on different paths.
Oh, yesterday he said that the Dresden telemovie still hasn't moved forward to the point where SciFi had actually said it will happen. He said that one possible problem is that he needs projects that film in LA, and he couldn't do it if it films in Canada as so many shows do.
Macbeth is not going forward at this time. He said this is not unusual in Hollywood. Projects are off and on and off and on. He does, however, think it will be eventually made. He's continuing to write it.
There was good news for David Greenwalt. Looks like a project of his has been greenlighted. Unfortunately, it wasn't the one that would have starred James.
One interesting thing is that he said that in Spike's entire time on BtVS, they had only two coats for him. On AtS, there were nine! He could have kept one
of them but he didn't want it in his closet, only to haul it out one day in the future and put it on years from now, looking in the mirror -- what a pitiful moment that would be.
He and I had our standard Q&A dynamic. Someone described it as more of a conversation. I asked where he would like Spike to be emotionally if there were a telemovie. He said he liked where Spike was at the end of "Angel." I replied back that it would have to be a bit different because he wouldn't be Angel's "Doppleganger" (a description he used the day before) He agreed that he would get to be the top guy and then get to give the orders and he really lit up at the thought of it. I agreed that would be cool. Then he asked if he had answered my question. I said, well, not exactly. So, I said something like, "What about a new love interest? Would you like to see Spike be in love in a telemovie?" He said he'd like that but there wouldn't be much dramatic tension. I said it was only a two-hour movie, so that shouldn't be a problem. He said maybe Spike could fall in love but then lose her at the end of the movie. I rolled my eyes at that point, and it was time to move on to another question.
At another point, he said that there was a lot of him in Spike in that they both basically were loners and that they both can get pissed off, but it isn't funny when James is angry.
Oh, BTW, yesterday he said that he was concerned that Spike might only be the comic foil on Angel but then he moved on to be a mirror for Angel, and that's where the Doppleganger came in.

;D Wow....lots and lots of gorgeous pics...we've been spoilt! Doesn't seem to be too much new in the QA's, but yes, there does seem to be a lot of opinions on his sartorial state....I'm not bothered what he wears, he could show up naked for all I care ...oops, did I just say that out loud ? ;D Wonder what he wears to auditions ?

I was sitting reading the snipes whilst wearing a baggy pinkish-red tee myself, so I took all the nasty comments personally, LMAO! Some entertaining reports coming in now from MTS members. Check 'em out. Just a coupla quick comments from HappyMeal's reports: Charlie, busking in the bar?! This made me lol too... good lord! And James apparently not knowing he was scheduled to sing at the Halloween Con?

Evenstar Estel has started writing about her weekend experiences at BAPS, and it sounds like she had wonderful responses from the guests to her paintings of them. She has also started putting up stuff at her LJ.

Check out Teep's mini con report, as posted on BAPS! The last paragraph is so funny, and so cool! Too tired to do one of my longer con reports but I figured I'd post a few things. Not much but if it interests any one, feel free to repost. There will be a longer mail tomorrow with some new Support Spike ideas to discuss so keep an eye out.
Panels - Alane and I moderated a panel on Saturday called Beyond Blondie Bear where we discussed James career starting with the famous grammar school production of Pooh and continued to the present. We started discussing some future Support Spike projects and I should be posting in more detail shortly. We also did an Official Novels and Merchandise panel on Sunday. Simon & Schuster generously donated several Buffy and Angel novels and posters and Fox Licensing donated some Willow action figures to use as door prizes for the panels. All of the items were gone by the end of the panel except for a few posters that I was able to place out with the postcards.
Pictures - Alexis is yummy and I really love my pic with him. I did cave and get three James photos for the weekend since when I bought the tickets I wasn't sure if he would be doing any more and didn't want to take the chance of regretting it later. Alane and I shared our Friday photo and then I got some individual ones on Saturday and Sunday. I hope to be able to scan and post tomorrow.
Banquet - Had an absolutely lovely time sitting with Alexis. I wasn't sure what to expect as I had a hard time getting a read during the photo shoots. Boy was I happy to find out he is just the prettiest most charming man. He actually conducted a Q & A with those of us at his table. Asked us how we got started watching the show, favorite characters, if we were fans of both shows and which show we started watching first, etc. He seems to know his character so well. I asked him if he had experienced any fan reaction regarding Wesley/Fred vs. Wesley/Lilah and he said there had definitely been some fans who were not happy with the Fresley thing. He did say that sometimes you just can't choose who you love and that Wesley's crazy reactions to being in love can sometimes be more realistic in that he just couldn't help himself and how he felt. He seems to have a closer interpretation to my own of who Wesley is as opposed to my completely opposite interpretation to Spike compared to how James views him Suffice to say my first loyalty is to JM but AD is certainly making the list! He also had absolutely wonderful things to say about Saving Angel during the banquet and during his Q & A. He said that the impact was felt throughout the industry and that we could never know everything that it accomplished.
Postcards - Man, this was the best reception to the postcards that I have seen at any con. I don't know where the motivation came from but I saw postcards in the hands of so many people I just wanted to give them all a big hug! All 4,000 postcards were gone by the time I left as well as 300 copies of the address lists and a few hundred address stickers. James also seemed pretty positive about continuing the postcard campaign. At one point he told me that even though we may not see an immediate effect, if we keep it up long term you never know what it might accomplish.
One funny thing that happened is that for the first time ever I was chosen for extra screening at the airport - I blame it on my brother who just started flying LOL - and while the security person was going through my carry on luggage, she asked what all the Spike postcards were for. I told her we were pushing for a Spike movie or spin-off and to feel free to take some cards if she wished. She said she'd take all I have as long as I had postage. I pulled out the cards, a Support Spike pen, and about 20 postage stamps. She started filling one out as I was walking away from the security area. I guess it goes to show that everything happens for a reason
Awesome

I used to run CharlieDemars.com and I can totally vouch for the fact that it really was Charlie. He decided to stop by, have fun, sing a little, and sell some CD's. He did this really funny skit when he walked by a few of us left in the bar. He said it was nice to see people that used to appreciate him for his music, he then walked in front of us with a dustpan and brush and started cleaning the bar rug. Cracked us right up. Poor washed up little Charlie the former rocker

Oh and Evenstar has more of her con report up at her LJ .. sounds like she made sweet James very happy indeed, bless her and can I just say that the Halloween con is now officially only next month!! ;D yep I'm that over excited !!

Aww, poor Charlie, but he seems to be in good humour about it all. Spicy's report at MM is great...seems she gave Joe Motes what for after he manhandled an attendee out of James' auto line....sorry, I'd send you straight there, but you know how crappy I am at linking Deb...you're not the only one getting excited...it just keeps popping into my head that we'll be seeing James next month and I have a little squee to myself ( folks think I'm a barmpot anyway, I don't need to give em any more ammo ;D)

I'm not altogether sure Charlie was laughing at himself..... But let's not get sidetracked! Sounds like a number of people told Joe and Fernando just what they thought of them this past weekend.

Good for them I say....shades of the DB 'event' in that all the organisers semed to be interested in was screwing as much money out of the attendees as possible, whilst treating them like cattle and having bog all to entertain them between seeing the guests

Any chance of a direct link? Can anybody go there? You frequent some exclusive places PK, Plebs like me might not be allowed in (well, not if they know it's me). ;D What's this about JM and JCB no longer amalgamating and stuff? Just seen it on one of the threads. I liked her, I thought she could have got him organised and whatall. She seemed to sort out Oakland just like she did the Harvest.
