OOH...methinks the Daily Mail really don't like our dear Buffy actors do they?! characters are just faking itRob Reiners charming 1989 movie When Harry Met Sally, scripted by Nora Ephron and starring Billy Crystal, has been neatly adapted for the stage by Marcy Kahan. Neatly , but not all that imaginatively It now stars Alyson Hannigan (BtVS) and Luke Perry( BH 90210), whose fame-lost on me I have to admit- guarantees no proper stage technique. They both sound squeaky, act woodenly , flounce tiresomely. She resembles a diluted Jennifer Aniston, he a poor mans Robson Green. You may gawp at them, but you can't fall in love with them. It's all about chemistry. Meg and Billy had it in spades, these two have half a teaspoon between them. The short , fatally undramatic scenes are shutter-framed in the manner of another recent intrusive American clunker with an equally gormless Perry(Matthew): David Mamet's Perversity in Chicago. The best bits are the filmed black and white testimonies of old couples who stayed the course; and Ben and Jamie Cullum's soundtrack of dynamic jazzy versions of New York standards. The famous deli-diner scene where Sally fakes having a good time in a carnal sense is hopelessly bodged . In the film, a little old Jewish lady mutters to the waitress; ' I'll have whatever she's having'. Here a guy say's the line. It's not funny, and if he's supposed to be gay, it's even less so.

Eliza was on UK C4 this afternoon, talking to Richard & Judy. It was mostly about Tru Calling, which has just started airing over here, but Faith was mentioned too. And a very hoarse Judy managed to bring up the Saving Angel campaigns, and Eliza taljked about the petiton on the net that appeared within minuted of the announcement of non-renewal. Anyway, here's another article about Tony! BUFFY STAR GIVES SHIRT OFF HIS BACK FOR RABBIT RESCUE SANCTUARY
11:00 - 19 April 2004 Getting their hands on one of actor Tony Head's shirts may be a long-standing dream among his female fans. Now admirers of the heart-throb star of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, who lives near Bath, have their chance to do just that.
Mr Head is auctioning off shirts he wore in recent stage productions of Peter Pan and the Pirates Of Penzance in a bid to raise money for the rabbit sanctuary he has at his farm in Farmborough.
Along with his partner, Sarah Fisher, he runs a rescue rabbit enclosure called Bunningham Palace at the farm in Timsbury Road.
The shirt which he wore as the Pirate King in the Pirates Of Penzance is currently being auctioned on-line at www.anthonyhead.org/Auction.html
Fans have until Saturday, May 8 to get their bids in.
The top he wore while playing Captain Hook in Peter Pan will also be auctioned in the same way in the summer.
Mr Head appeared in both shows at the Savoy Theatre until last March.
Bunningham Palace was built at the end of last year, but is now in need of expansion due to an increase in the number of rabbits there.
Mr Head is also hoping that funds raised by the auctions will help build a guinea pig garden.
He said: "The auctions give people something that they want and the money raised goes to extremely good causes.
"I've been asked over the years for bits and pieces from Buffy. It never actually occurred to me that people collected such things, but they do."
It is not the first time that Mr Head has auctioned memorabilia in order to raise money for good causes.
A cotton shirt that he wore in a Buffy shoot raised £800 for a centre which cares for retired racehorses, while Tea With Tony at the Savoy Hotel raised £2,760 thanks to a generous bid from a mystery American.
Mr Head first sent hearts fluttering when he appeared as the suave next-door neighbour in an 1980s Gold Blend coffee commercial.
He later starred as Giles in seven series of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and has more recently appeared in BBC spy drama Spooks, cult comedy Little Britain, and television series Manchild with Nigel Havers.
From Tilley Farm at Farmborough he organises workshops that teach animal owners new ways of caring for their animals.
The emphasis is on touching and massaging the animals in a bid to improve their behaviour.
His partner, with whom he runs the farm, said: "It's for people who want to learn a different way of working with animals.
"What we teach is a non-intrusive way of helping animals overcome behavioural issues."

In a Google search for ummm something I'm not gonna say lol, I found this article from the BBC with ASH. ManchildI liked this part: But the burning question from this premiere season has to be, what was it like having to show has naked bottom on screen?
"It felt better than the directors original question. David said, 'I've got clearance from the BBC, we can do full frontal if you like?' I just went 'hahhhhh.' So from there on, it was all down-hill really. I have shown most of my anatomy, just not quite all at once. It didn't really occur to me until I met a woman in the supermarket who said, 'nice to see you with your clothes on!'
"The only preparation I did was lengthy discussions with the wardrobe department as to how I should cover the rest of my nether regions without it being a problem. Which was basically a posing pouch with all the elastic cut off, some toupee tape on either side of my hips and letting gravity do the rest. Amazingly enough it all hung in there!";D ;D ;D ;D I wish that show aired here! ;D

That was a funny programme....oddly enough more popular with female audiences than male LOL It had gratuitous sex , nudity and bad language...but showed a group of middle aged men behaving like teenagers, and the middle aged men in charge of programme planning didn't like it, so we only got 2 series!

It had gratuitous sex , nudity and bad language... The best kind! I swear, if I ever go to the UK, I'll sit in front of the telly 24/7 watching all the stuff we can't get over here! ;D And anything with nekkid Tony in it sounds good!

It isn't all like that, trust me! Take Tony's new job for instance. "Monarch of the Glen" is surely produced more for overseas export than ther home market. It's kinda harmless, and very pretty, but not exactly challenging... Taking the money and running, here's a bit from the Beeb about Tony's upcoming role in it.

Posted at an LJ community I belong to called "childfree", then I hunted down the proper url... GELLAR HATES BABY PRESSUREActress Sarah Michelle Gellar is annoyed with pressure from media and friends to start a family with her husband Freddie Prinze Jr.
The stars married in Mexico over two years ago and Gellar doesn't understand why everyone wants her to become a mother, because she's still enjoying "just being a wife."
Gellar says, "Everyone seems fascinated about when we're going to have kids. The answer is, I don't know.
"In fact, I'm put off by the pressure that's put on you to breed these days.
"It's like, you gotta have a career, you gotta get married, you gotta have a kid -- then you gotta have another one.
"I'm young enough to take my time, thank you!" Yay go Sarah! ;D

Yeah... Why the hell would she want kids yet, anyway? She's even younger than me, isn't she? IMO that's WAY too young to be having kids (that's just cos I don't like them, though! ;D). No, good for her. Shouldn't have kids unless and until you want to, not because the media wants it. After all, the media aren't gonna come round and change the smelly nappies, clean up babysick and sing baby to sleep when it's yelling and crying are they? Bloody jouranlists. 'Scuse French.
