Sounds like a good cameo, Ted Bundy interesting??? mind you he did say he likes portraying 'evil' types and they always are the more interesting characters even if in this case they are real.

Oh, Bundy is fascnating in an ookie way.
Do you think this could be it, btw?
WINNIPEG - August 13, 2007 - Sections of Higgins Avenue will be closed to traffic starting Monday, August 13, 2007 for the filming of the television mini-series "Chasing the Devil."
He'd work in Winnipeg as it is just a cameo, wouldn't he. Mini-series, huh?

Bundy was just a shade younger than JM when he was executed.

Right, he was apparently good looking too that's why he was able to attract his victims, so they have got that part of the casting right I think it's based on a book by the same name by a sheriff who hunted down serial killers.

Wanted posterThere's a whole lot of stuff HERE, but it isn't bedtime reading! I always say to people who don't get my love of horror movies and books - real life can be far far worse, give me fiction any day!

Not the best pic I would say but there again I'm only going by what I've seen on the Crime channels He was one of those 'innocent' looking guys unlike Gacey, Manson and the others. I have loads and loads of books on real-life serial killers and murderers I find them fascinating the only fiction I have is Dresden

Ah, even more interesting. Bundy apparently 'helped out' on the Green River Killer case, so JM's cameo is likely to be his interviews for this. Lifetime Movie Network is revisiting the deadliest string of murders by a serial killer in U.S. history with "Desperate: The Search for the Green River Killer."
The four-hour project, which stars Tom Cavanagh, Amy Davidson, Sharon Lawrence and James Russo, marks LMN's first miniseries.
Based on the book "Chasing the Devil: My Twenty-Year Quest to Capture the Green River Killer," by Sheriff David Reichert, the lead investigator on the Green River case, "Desperate" follows two teen girls trying to escape their rough life at a Seattle-area trailer park who get on a collision course with the infamous Green River Killer.
The book was adapted by writer John Pielmeier (FX's "Sins of the Father"). Norma Bailey (Lifetime's "Eight Days to Live") is set to direct the mini.
The Green River case began in 1982, when the bodies of three women were found in and near the Green River in suburban Seattle. The killer, whose identity remained a mystery for 20 years until a DNA test linked Gary Ridgway to the first victims, targeted runaway teenagers and prostitutes. Ridgway ultimately confessed to killing 53 women.
Cavanagh will portray Reichert, who navigated a number of suspects and false leads over two decades until he zeroed in on the unassuming Ridgway. Davidson portrays Helen "Hel" Remus, one of the serial killer's early victims and narrator of the story.
Stanley M. Brooks (AMC's "Broken Trail") and Juliette Hagopian are executive producing "Desperate." Scott Anderson is co-executive producing. Hollywood Reporter

The IMDb page now has a long cast list and a release date (March 15th 2008), although if it's going to be on I wonder if that bit is accurate.

You could try bookmarking this thread Cy, we'll post the date if/when we know it. Extract from BostonNow interview: BN: Did I read that you're playing Ted Bundy? JM: Yeah! John Pielmeier, who wrote Agnes Of God, I worked with him years ago in Seattle on a play called Voices In The Dark, he was doing a movie and he wanted me to come play Ted Bundy. I asked if I had to kill or torture anybody and he said, "no, you're just in jail" talking about how to catch the next guy, and I thought, "oh, ok, that's fine." I didn't want to do anything gruesome.
BN: Did you do any research? JM: I didn't want to do the research because he's a sociopath who doesn't feel bad about what he's done, where if I look at that stuff, I'd feel awful. It was weird because I'd be in my trailer and they'd say, "oh, you look just like him" and I'd say, "shut up!!!" I didn't want to hear that (laughing).

But that was only pretend! With his methoding he'd have to really be a seriel killer and I don't think his psyche could take it. He's such a gentle soul.

Retracing Some Gruesome Steps
What makes the mind of a serial killer tick? It’s a question that has long fascinated Hollywood as well as film and crews from far and wide.
Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 12:20 PM By FilmStew Staff
Back in 2004, producer Charlotte Wheeler, director Chris Williams and cameraman James Lloyd roamed the United States for the series Dead Famous, which sought to debunk or confirm the presence of various celebrity ghosts. Among the famous auras targeted by the on-camera tandem of a skeptical and a psychic co-host were Elvis Presley, Billy the Kid and Frank Sinatra.
Now the British trio are at it again, crisscrossing the U.S. for Conversations with a Serial Killer, their fall 2008 offering for LIVING Television. The eight-part series will look at four notorious American mass murderers: Ted Bundy, Aileen Wuornos, Boston Strangler Albert DeSalvo and John Wayne Gacy.
Yesterday, Wheeler and co. were in Lake City, Florida, where Bundy found his youngest and final victim, 12-year-old high school student Kimberly Leach. Before and after his execution on January 24th, 1989, Bundy has continued to fascinate. In addition to the upcoming Lifetime miniseries Chasing the Devil, which premieres in March and casts James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) in the title creep role, the killer has been played in the past by everyone from Mark Harmon to John Waters to Cary Elwes.
“Ted Bundy’s story is one of the most complex,” Wheeler tells the Lake City Reporter. “If it was fiction, it wouldn’t be believable. He escaped twice. If he hadn’t lost it in Tallahassee, there is a good chance he’d still be out there today.” FilmStew

Desperate for a break in the case, Reichert consults with convicted serial killer Ted Bundy (James Marsters, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), who offers insights into the mind of the Green River Killer.
