Very interesting news coming from James at Dragoncon about being approached to do about 4 more eps of Smallville. Will he, won't he?!

A villain from the past will also resurface but we don't know whom yet (some speculate it might be Brainiac, if so, don't expect him to return in the first half of the season since James Marsters is busy this fall).Lots more S7 spoilers and spec, too, at Squad

Er, a bit behind the times really. But she always was, dear Kristin! Exclusive! James Marsters Returning to Smallville Categories: smallville Just a little giddy good news to help ring in the new season of Smallville, which starts tomorrow night.
Reliable insiders tell me—and the CW confirms—that James Marsters (swoon, Buffy's Spike) is returning for four episodes of the superseries during the new season.
We last saw Marsters's character, Dr. Milton Fine (aka Brainiac), in Smallville's fifth season finale.
While it's unclear exactly how James is returning, I can tell you he's reprising the exact same character, he's returning to set very soon and his episodes begin airing in January. He also appears on CBS' Without a Trace this season.

Little tidbit of niceness: Season five only included two commentaries, none of which included any of the regular cast members. In fact, the only commentary that included an actor at all was James Marsters, who starred as Brainiac. I've always enjoyed Marsters' work (especially on Buffy), but it would have been nice to have heard from some of the regular cast as well. PrimeTimePulse

NN just phoned me and the girls are on their way to their next hotel and will hopefully be reporting in from there later. She said the Carling wasn't as jam packed as it has been in the past at James gigs, but evenso there were some people who acted as view-blockers. She went up to the balcony but said that wasn't much better as the Carling had started putting out decorations for a disco there tonight!

It was fantastic, but of course you know I'm gonna say that. We got there quite late and joined the queue quite far down. I was moaning we're gonna be miles back wah! but it was okay we were second row back on the balcony. However, some peeps had pulled the pouffe's up to the rail and were sat down all cosy which was quite selfish, cos six peeps (even at my size) could have squeezed along and could have had a birds' eye view of James but no.
They remained sitting down and we sat on the step behind until James comes on and then we stood up. I had a cracking view though despite the bars. First time I've ever been looking up, and it was quite different.
Instead of looking up at his eyes I was looking at the top of his head, all that thick dark hair and his feet! I now have a foot fetish...
He really was on top form as Bendy said later in Burger King *snerk* he sang every song beautifully and the whistling when he did Dangerous for the encore was exquisite. He sang Louise which was hilarious and he looked up at her on the balcony and was laughing.
He sang at least three new songs and all the old favourites excepting Patricia. Why didn't he sing that, it's now one of my favourites.
Everybody thought he did great. Some of us thought he was more subdued than normal. I did notice he didn't have any Red Bull placed on stage before hand, he just had four bottles of water. Girls are all snarking he might be just feeling his age ... lol.
We're all off for lunch now, can't wait for tonight. See ya later peeps.

Trying to read my notes from Thursday night and finding them quite hard to decipher but here goes; I actually found Evi Vine to be very good, I really liked her style and found some of her songs quite hauntingly beautiful especially with the deep drum beat, I definately could listen to more from her. What can be said about James that hasn't already, he just seem's to appear and the mood instantly changes. I won't go into what he was wearing as that has already been commented upon, I'm just posting about my personal view of the gig. His voice and playing definately get's better everytime I see him and tonight was no different although I got the impression he seemed a little subdued to begin with, but definately picked up as the gig progressed, as PK has posted the set list I won't go through that either but will say I loved the two new songs and the one he said he wrote when he was 21.......I was just delighted that he included Angel and This Town as they are among my favourites. I really don't know what else to say to be honest as it is a little difficult to say something totally new about James' performances without sounding trite and the added pressure of having PK threatening the if I don't post something.........lol

Hmmm... Re some of the reports I've read, I'd just like to clarify that it wasn't my cleavage heaving over the bars on the balcony that seemed to put James off ...he'd a stopped altogether ;D Whilst the Carling Academy is not my favourite venue, its guaranteed to have atmosphere , even if that atmosphere includes a nutjob woman dancing like a loon far too close to me for her own safety and smooching couples who park themselves in front of folks B, Teebs, M, Miss K and I decided to watch the start of the gig downstairs, and actually had room to move, breathe and a half decent view of the Man in Question before some tall annoying people mooched in front of us, and whilst it wasn't a problem for me , the others weren't too impressed. Add that to the seriously annoying dancing bird who kept apologising to her b/f for being overcome with lust when James was singing , and was in danger of getting my elbow in her nose , and I decided that discretion was the better part of valour and went back upstairs I stood behind Deb and Christy, and managed to get some nice glimpses of yer man, and a bit of room to shake my booty to the blues numbers , but yeah, had everyone just stood rather than pulling up pouffes, more people would have been able to see better as there were great swathes of material attached to the balcony from the roof for the Guilty Pleasures disco on Friday Oh to have had a pair of scissors, since they cut the viewing area down to just the front of the balcony, and a little area to the side Loved the new ( to us) songs Louise, Up On You and All She Wanted , but up on you should really have 'Don't' in brackets in front of it , since that's how the line of the song appeared to begin ;D And yes, we did have another lock-in experience at Burger King afterwards LOL.
