for you all. And Happy Thanksgiving. I know, I know. Most of you don't get the celebrate officially but you can have a little thanksgiving all your own. Eat a little too much of something and get all smooshie thinking about the past year and you'll fit right in with this side of the pond. Love you all and I'm very thankful for you guys!

Indeed I am and very happy for each and every one of them.
My American Civil War romance was released as an e-book today! The paperback will be released in a week or two! That's 3 this year! Can you believe it?? ;D
And for any who might be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area - I have a book signing this Friday at Starbucks on the corner of Precinct Line Rd and Grapevine Hwy in North Richland Hills. I'm all excited! I don't know what to wear! I have a wonderful red shawl I just bought - I need a cold weather dress to go with it. I may have to shop tomorrow.

Warning - totally shameless self-promotion:
Yep, my American Civil War romance co-authored with the wonderful Princess Plum Jade is now available in paperback! Yay! A week early and everything. Am happy!
Official blurb: Angele Valmont struggles to make the best of things when Federal troops pour into New Orleans and the despicable "Beast" Butler imposes martial law upon the city. She is determined to see her business and her family survive the losses of the vicious war. But the appalling Order No. 28 leaves her stripped of dignity and susceptible to violent attack by the dregs of the Union army. Major James Darling resents being stationed in the muggy town of haughty Creoles and serving under a reprobate like Butler. When he is forced to physically defend one red-haired belle from his brothers in arms, his lot seems unbearable as well as boring. Angele's leonine eyes hold him in a thrall from which he can't bear to be free.
The Union major and the Confederate lady spark passion within each other no common sense or sense of duty can quench. If exposed, their secret love affair can ruin lives and set scandal burning across the French Quarter. If forever hidden, however, it will break their hearts...
Official pre-release reviews: MeriBeth McCombs, Professional Reviewer In the grand tradition of Nora Roberts... a delightfully rich tapestry of life in occupied New Orleans." "
Wanda Horton, Author, President North Texas Professional Writers Association "Slightly wicked, deliciously lovely... a 'must-read' for Civil War buffs and romance lovers alike."
Or you can just go to my website and read the first chapter to see if you like it....
*Runs away before PK gets out the whip again....* Although she is awfully fetching with that thing. Suits her.

I know you have that fixation with hoopskirts, Ditto. You should love it - romance and hoopskirts and horses and everything.

I'm sure PK at least will get a laugh out of this -- My publisher has made me moderator for their non-erotica (since that's what I write!) readers yahoo list! Unlike PK, they have not yet issued me a broom.... So, come on over. Chit-chat with the authors and other readers and keep me from getting bored. Amber Quill Press Readers

You would be amazed at what's out there, Pix.
I think PK can confirm this - the fanfic world rates fics VERY harshly. Stuff that is R in the "real world" is NC-17 in the fic world. Books are rated like movies and unless there's a lot of graphic sex, it's R and therefore standard. I am a non-erotic author. LOL even my erotical publisher only rates me up for violence, not sexual content. Let face it, you could film most of the BV with very few changes.
