Yay...no more basketball...finally televised the ep they were supposed to show Wednesday. Watched, taped and watched again this morning.
Having not seen S4, was surprised about the group 'lack' of Connor memories. Did not know this was part of the 'deal' Angel made...was that shown or is this something the writers came up with for this ep?
Agree wholeheartedly about the complete lack of arm 'scarring' PK. And thought Spike would have been into some more violent games than barrel monsters, playing the heroe of the game of course. And although it was a Spikelite ep, we have to accept that the name of the show is Angel and there is a whole cast that has been underused. Spike's gotten much more screen time than any of the others, wonder how they feel about that, but it does seem to have greatly improved the ratings and was extremely glad to hear the murmurings of an S6.
All in all I liked the ep as a stand alone and for providing tidbits for newbies to catch up on some Angel history. And it has occurred to me that both Angel/BTVS are good at taking obnoxious characters and evolving them into people you care about: i.e for me. Cordy & Anya. Course I don't think any kind of writing is gonna change my mind about Andrew & Eve. The character Andrew has some uses but for her, not so much the character and I just don't think much of her acting abilities. Harm is another one I could live without, but did like her in this one...maybe cos she was smacking the shit out of Eve?
...even having watched it twice, that was rather vague. Gave Lindsey some extra power in the kick ass dept but at one point there seemed to be a blur of tentacles or something in the background just before Cordy yanked the 'crystal' or whatever the hell that was. And I must agree, Lindsey does have a very nice bod and makes me realize I have been waaaaay too discriminatory in checking out smaller stature guys over the years... ...hmmmm... live and learn...
And the ep started out with Angel ready to resign, then suddenly defending his actions to Cordy. Lack of continuity within back to back scenes. And I don't remember seeing Cordy's hospital room as a semi-private, and assuming Angel was footing the bill and not THAT cheap...so as soon as she swished the curtain closed, knew something was up.
So, did ya catch the 'look' tween Fred & Wes as he so masterfully baritoned his incantations? Is he finally gonna score before the end of the season?
And the final scene was very touching...the writers seem to be on a roll the last 2 eps with final scenes... think they can keep it up?
And Spike with dark hair looks thrice as evil does he not?
