RE: weight loss - walking 2 miles a day
Back to my Philadelphia report....
SATURDAYI had room service for breakfast at the hotel and it was worth every penny. I did not leave hungry. My hotel was connected to the convention centre, so if I could drop off things as I got them.
I got in the VIP line set up outside again running into Jessie, Jessie's Mom and Jean while waiting. Once again we were not let inside on time because of the dealers/fire marshall. Time management people - if you're supposed to be set up 9AM, be set up by 9AM!
Once in, I went back to Celeb Photo-ops to get the GLAAD picture from them. I had to go back to the printer to get it as they printed in fresh that morning so no one could swipe it. Ironic as to what happened later in the day, but I'll get to that later. And on my way out I ran into Paul Wesley and Torey Devito (sp?), and I congratulated them on their series.
I went back to James' area and started his Autograph line. James arrived about 10:45AM and I got him to sign the photo ("Be GLAAD who you are") and I gave him a present his son had suggested - LEGOS! If you saw my Saturday video (
Link Here), you'll see his reaction to it.
Next was getting Melissa Joan Hart's autograph for Shaun. He wanted "I cast a spell on you" which she was more than happy to do. We ended up talking abour her and Joey Lawrence's turns on
Dancing with the Stars, and she said she kept one of her dresses.
Then I went next door to Jason Priestly's table just to see if I could go up for a handshake, and lo and behold I run into James' Peg and Steve Himber at the table. Peg said go right on up and Steve congratulated me on coming out and told me he and Craig have been a couple a little less longer than I've been along. But in the long run it's better to be in the open about it (Good Advice!). My initial reaction was "Who is this person, and what have you done to Steve Himber? LOL"
I said Hello to Jason and asked about
Die! Mommie, Die! and working with Charles Busch. He said he had a great time, and that was the only time he had to kiss a man. He said Charles was great to work for/with (and a great kisser LOL), and it was a fun/relaxed set. I told him I saw Charles play a woman's part (surprise LOL) with James in
The Importance of Being Earnest 3 years ago and it was really funny. I wished him continued success.
Photos were next. James seemed confused as to the poses I wanted, but was in a mood to do them. At this session James was upfront as to no hugging and kind of hesitant that day about doing photos. I found out later some a**hole on Friday grabbed his a**.
Thanks for ruining a little bit of his weekend Jerk!
I got in line for the 5 Captains panel where they had the line seperated as they did for VIP panels as to Person/Group X VIP line and other VIP/General passes line. While waiting, I found out from Jessie that the photos from earlier were done (Twitter from Celeb Photo-Ops), so I gave her my tickets to get my pictures. Once she got back she said that someone had stolen all the Hemsworth photos and there was going to be a backlog for the rest of the day.
Once in I asked the first question and proceeded to make a bit of an ass of myself. I confessed that I wasn't a Trekkie (got the biggest BOO from the audience on that!) and I'd only seen one episode of the series. Scott Bakula interrupted and asked me which episode and I said "The Trouble with Tribbles" at which the other 4 people did their bows to Shatner, almost in a "you've got to respect the master" situation. I then said I had 2 non-Trek questions for Shatner and Mulgrew.
I asked Shatner about what got him involved with horses, both riding and raising. He answered with "That is the strangest Sci-Fi question I've ever heard." He then went into great detail about horses and the almost conversation you can have with them without speaking. That just by one movement of the rider's body the horse know when to go faster, slower. or stop. He was very well versed in the subject and he thanked me for asking it, almost like no one asks that at his session.
Then came the question for Kate Mulgrew about working on
Equus to where I got the character she played wrong. She got back at me by saying I should've been paying more attention during the play. I confessed I never saw it, but wanted to know how she felt about it anyway. She had a little laugh about it, but in general it was fun. At that point I high-tailed it out of there.
I went back to the hall and I noticed that James didn't have much of a line so I went back to describe what the photos were about. The first one we did was swearing in Sign Language (B****!) and the other one I had him take his necklace out from under his shirt and I did the same and we held our arms up. I said, "We're showing off our bling." He thought that was funny. I told I'd see him tomorrow and I got a "Right On" from him.
SUNDAY coming later tonight.
