From JM Live
PLANNING AHEAD TO 2010! James is to play 'Charles Marlow' in the classic She Stoops to Conquer live onstage as part of the L.A. Theatre Works 2009-2010 season of play readings. She Stoops to Conquer will be presented the week of June 14, 2010 and broadcast at a later date on National Public Radio.
Himber Entertainment is planning a very special event for the weekend of June 19th/20th that will include tickets to the Saturday matinee performance and more for a group of 75. From JM's site:
She Stoops To Conquer Event
As previously announced, James will be participating in the LA Theatre Works production of She Stoops To Conquer the week of June 14-20, 2010.
Himber Entertainment has reserved 75 of the best seats for the Saturday, June 19th performance (which is a matinee) and will be holding a special event immediately following the performance with James. Specific details of the event are still being coordinated and the 75 seats will not be sold separate from the event.
LA Theatre Works will begin offering ticket sales for general seating starting September 15, 2009. THESE WILL NOT BE THOSE 75 SEATS SET ASIDE FOR THE SPECIAL EVENT. The 'event' portion will not be sold separately from the theatre ticket. If James is not able to participate in the theatre reading due to other work commitments, then only the added 'event' portion of the monies paid will be refunded (the theatre tickets are non-refundable and are $48 plus $1 service charge).

Due to fan feedback, deadlines for the payment schedule for the "She Stoops to Conquer" Event have been changed to the following:
Reservations will still take place as planned: Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 10 AM New York Time to Himberent@aol.com
A $50 USD non-refundable deposit will be due no later than the close of business (ie. mail delivery) on Saturday, October 3, 2009.
You may pay by bank check, cashier check, American Express travelers check, money order, etc. We cannot accept personal checks, debit cards, credit cards or Paypal, because we are not set up for those.
This portion is non-refundable because we must purchase the 75 seats from LA Theatre Works now and like all theatre tickets they are non-refundable.
The remaining $250 USD will be due no later than April 1, 2010. You may choose to pay it any time prior - we'll give you a receipt.
Those on the waiting list will be contacted Friday, April 2, 2010. Their payment schedule will require a somewhat accelerated payment schedule due to the limited time frame.

And now I love Steve almost as much as James!

Today I have been to 1640 Revello Drive, Sunnydale High, Angel's mansion, The Hyperion Hotel and Wolfram and Hart... Wil post pics later. The play was fab! James took a little while to get going but then was really excellent - his accent was as good as ever (and he is the only Ameican in a cast of Brits!) and some great comic timing with some very very funny bits. ames doing nervous stuttering is hilarious! There were a few fluffs, but it was the first night and it was still excellent. All the cast are wonderful - really great fun. Can't wait to see it again and listen more carefully as its sometims a bit wordy. Didnt really get a chance to take any photos of James when he came out after and quickly worked his way round hugging everyone, (but Mad Brilliant did!) but it was lovely he did that at all - he apologised for not staying, but he said he had been there for 12 hours - rehearsing all day. More soon!!

Director is Martin Jarvis, then we have Rosalind Ayres (his wife I think!) (she is wonderful) Adam Godley, Ian Ogilvy, Matthew Wolf (who was in IOBE last year along with Christopher Neame) Julian Holloway, Paula Jane Newman, Moira Quirk and Darren Richardson. All excellent - some lovely West country accents from those playing servants. Last nights performance was really starting to get into is stride - James firstly doing the shy stuttering Marlow with Joanne W is absolutely hilarious and then again when hes being all lecherous with her when he thinks shes the barmaid! (complete with them both on the same mic, and appropriate actions! ) Really looking forward to seeing it again!!

Yeah, she is. They have their own production company and do a lot of stuff for radio here, so it all makes sense! I know Ian and Julian (or rather, of them, they aren't personal acquaintances ;D ) but not sure about the others. Sounds great! Keep the reports a-comin' Rosie

Oh yeah! Majorly ranting venting James! Was an interesting evening to say the least. Bad set up and the venue was a disaster - we ended up in the room whihc had the entrance for the kitchen in the middle of it. So the wait staff for the entire restaurant had to pass in and out all the time - including during James Q and A - and then during the concert!! Our boy was being himself, warts and all and wanted to vent - and boy, did he! He wasn't mad at us, in fact the number of times he said he loved us during the evening probaby outweighed the ranting. He said it was just how it was for a stage actor after a performance - he was kind of drained. He did en up getting mad about the wait staff and I actually thoought he might storm off, but didnt though it was v difficult for him to perform in the circumstances. I think I rather prefered ranty pissed off James to smooth professional James - it was so much more real and yeah, the glaring at the wait staff during Finer than Gold, following them with his eyes as he sang (and there was some giggling too) was a highlight (he did say the song wouldn't survive the wait staff!) along with having just had another vehement vent about stuff, he started the next song (Dance Slow) with the words "I feel good" which brought the house down and cracked him up too. I have pics but they all need red eye removal cos lighting was soo crap I had to use flash. 5 here to be going on with... www.flickr.com/photos/wrigglerosie/sets/72157624317478302/And today after the last performance of the play which was wonderful, James came out and firstly apologised profusely for last night and then signing autos and posing for pictures with everybody that wanted it, whihc was lovely. There are lots of pics about from then - I was last to go for my picture and had major huggage - and looking around at all the mass of cameras looking at us gave me a tiny taste of what it must like to be James.!! Kyle has posted the pics she took of me on FB - so you can see 4 of them HERE but you have to go to the previous ones to see them all. Flying home tomorrow get back tuesday lunchtime.
