I debated over new land too PK as I wanted to keep my farm small and cute but then I got seduced by all the things to buy Now I'm struggling to fit rivers in. It takes forever redesigning and moving things. I even did something I swore I'd never do, beg in the market place, but I only said 'I only need 27 more points to buy a river' and got hired to plough immediately Ditto, I no longer care how I 'perform' at other people's farms, but I do like being hired by the more mature looking types ;D

I've got a woodshed round the back...with the chickens...dunno how I've got the chickens as I ain't got a rooster! Pluto, I shall have to follow suit and not give a damn. I felt bad again this morning, I always panic a bit at others farms and click madly and dash about looking for anything to harvest, I thought that was the point, harvest as quick as possible but then this peep said "How rude" on the chat and I'm sure she meant me. I think I dashed over and clicked harvested her plots. I shall have to be more laidback. There's an obvious ettyketty. I want a pond...m'poor muls are dehydrated! Not even got a trough.

Ditto, when you arrive at a farm have a quick scan out so you can see where other people are harvesting. If it's a big field start at the other end to others. The farmer has chosen you to work afterall.
Give the livestock a barrel or two and pretend they can drink from it ;D

I went to a strawberry farm before and got about two plots. The livestock haven't got opposable thumbs with which to open the flipping barrels. We have to be realistic. Plus I think they're ogre barrels, prolly full of grog. No wonder them pigs are squiffy eyed and falling over sideways.

Plutos right about not caring Ditto - but I went to a big farm a little while ago where there were others harvesting too - I was trying to be quick harvesting then saw the owner and someone witing to plow talking about me - saying look at her just hacking into it - why don't they do it a field at a time - ohh the shame - I nearly went home in umbrage but I wanted the dirty money! So now I do a quick reccie for the most profitable crops then do a field at a time

Ditto, just pretend that the barrels are full of water and that the animals can get to it. I t will set your mind at rest ;D Or if you are really worried shower them with the watering can, that'll help.

Gosh, some of those people sound very rude and judgemental I wouldn't dare hire myself out to strangers, I'd be a laughing stock. I even Banquo at Ditto's place, to her great ammusement. Got my scythe stuck in her mango tree the other day, oh the shame

That's diabolical! Surely they realised you could read what they were saying! I'd have told them to clear off and gone home.

I was tempted Ditto - but there was so much money to earn....
I think we all need help - I was nagging bil to get someone else to harvest so he could earn more - and he fixed me with his beady eye and said - more virtual money do you mean...

Today a little avatar guy comes to mine while PK was there after getting in the mangoes, actually you might have gone Banquo by that time PK, and so I say "Hello Justin" on the chat thingy - no response - so I go to his farm, which was lol with all higgledypiggldy plots and a line of trees and nothing else and he's obviously a young one, monosyllabic and I say were you just at mine and he says no and carries on ploughing so I say well your avatar was and he says what's an avatar?

It's an irritating thing, but you can be someone's neighbour without them being yours. If you're missing folks, nag them to be your neighbour too.

have you got Sheila as a neighbour Ditto? Bless her, she's obviously not really into the farming but I visit her everyday It seems that there are several marketplaces, which I guess makes sense with so many users. It would be crashing all the time if several hundred all visited at once.

Several marketplaces? That would explain it... I do have Sheila as a friend, but she's not at the bottom of my page either I don't think... Anyways I think I have the harvesting/plowing sussed. When I glanced at the 'help' page (I never read instructions, worse than a fella, no attention span) it said if you wanted 'joined up' fields to do them from left to right from top left hand corner and it's the same with harvesting/ploughing I've found...much easier to 'drag' the clickymouse and go from left to right in lines...you will have to wait for yourself to catch up at the beginning of each line and you'll get the 'wait I'm busy' signal for a second but it is easier all round...quicker and neater and you'll look like you know what you're doing...

Really? But then I'd have less time to do actual farming...I'll think about having a look. I'm even dreaming Farm Town now and start thinking about it immediately on waking up. I got a pond! Wheeee!

It must have rained hard in Farm Town overnight coz I've been finding it slow going wading through the mud Ditto's pond is purdy I should have more crops ready tonight, if any of you are about. I'm not too far off the next level now, hurrah! Seems easier than the last one somehow, which almost broke my spirit as I struggled through it. And am resisting the urge to splurge dosh on a woodshed, saving it for that elusive pond.
