Bristol( both of them) was freaking fabulous James' voice was amazing it's a lovely venue ..my only complaint was the amount of time I had to spend telling some especially irritating ejits to shut up! how could anyone talk over "Finer Than Gold?" but wow! just wow! and ASH looked like he was having a good time on Tuesday too and those Blues are getting dirtier and dirtier I just drove back from Bristol on two hours sleep , got in at 6AM and Im * still* bouncing like a loon! of course it may have been the MANY many cups of coffee we drank whilst sheltering from the rain wot did it but I blame James

I had a couple of very young Buffy fans next to me last night, clearly having boyfriend troubles via the mobile. Nearly decked the pair of them for wittering, horrible little teenage brats! I'm afraid I'm going to do my reports on Monday, as I'm so shattered I can't think straight! I've written stuff in my diary, though, so once I can face the mammoth task, it'll get done in nice little chunks and I'll put it in my LJ and repost here.

Last night was fabulous....apart from the wankers who talked/ squealed/ waved Angel puppets, stuck their cameras in my face pulled my hair , and tried to push by us Some woman was videoing for fecks sake, but then there was no security at all James indeed keeps getting better and better ;D He didn't sing Patricia again, I think its hell on wheels for his poor hand and fingers, and last night he broke a string on his guitar and had to borrow Al's ( who is pretty good, although his songs are a bit samey...good voice, plays well , but no real colour ) Anyway, after the pig of a day we had , we were fairly pleased that they started late, and even though we only got to the Fleece at 8 , due to some fuckin eejit cracking a gas main across from the hotel, and particularly divvy coppers not knowing their arse from their elbows, we managed a decent spot with a clear view ;D Jackie from Utah spotted us as soon as we got in and joined us ...lovely lady, and another brave US'er for travelling alone and not knowing anyone . Part 2 after I make another coffee

Part 2 You can tell it's me reporting...there's F' all in sequence ;D Pix and I were just pulling into Bristol, when Dee Dee said they'd been evacuated from the hotel due to said clumsy pillock, and that it would be 5 or 6 hours till the police cordons lifted and we'd be able to book in We decided to have a pootle round Brizzle have lunch, and hook up with Dee Dee and Big Momma as soon as there was any news . Got a taxi down to the hotel about 3 , but everything was still cordoned off, and the pretty policeman couldn't give us any news Neither could the toothless builder, who said we could wait with him and his cronies if we liked ( ewwwww!..think my pulling powers are slipping : Dee Dee had called to say she and BM were ensconced in a pub waiting for news on re-opening of hotel...but we didn't know which pub ! Pix was less keen on trying all of them than me, so we went into the nearest one, still spitting mad that this had to happen on this particular day The landlady had been told not to open , but despite being able to smell the gas all along the street , she opened the bar ;D Double vodka for me, cider for Pix and we began to calm down a little . I was accosted by a drunken Irish bloke as we walked in...he insisted on giving me a hug...and he was no fuckin oil painting either ! I'm definitely slipping When we got hold of Dee Dee, we walked along to another pub and found her and BM ...the poor darlings had been there for 6 hours , just waiting for the policewoman who'd promised to let them know when they could get back to their rooms After some grub, we decided to walk down there and see what was happening, only to find Bristols finest had reneged on her promise, and the hotel had been open for an hour Well...Pix and I booked in at 6.15 , and were showered hair washed and dressed by 7.30...something of a record, at least on my part LOL. Got to the venue by taxi at 8 to find folks still Qing outside....big relief, and only had to wait 10 minutes before the doors opened ;D It still took an hour before the support act started...they'd apparently been wrecked the night before ;D James came on without preamble, and was wearing YAY ...black tee with the BLUE shirt over *be still my beating heart* and started by explaining about his guitar and started with Every Man Thinks...usual lapse in memory as to song order, but I know he missed out Katie and Patricia but did the rest of the CD ;D Finer Than Gold is truly a beautiful song, and he explained it to the guys in the audience as what happens when you buy the 'Wrong colour necklace for your girls birthday ' AWWW...he said the song had been accepted as a replacement ...and what a replacement...you can se he gets quite emotional singing it...as do we all ! Ther was some patter between himself and some of the gals in the front...at one point he asked who'd given him a bottle of personalised JD...saying what a trip it was having James Marsters Jack, and acting out chugging it down LOL He did the 'How many guys' thing and added there was no way he'd be dragged along to see some 'Fuckin guy off the !' ;D Someone shouted out 'How do you like Bristol...and James said he loved it , cos it was a lot like Seattle, which was his favourite place, and he asked that we continue to go to live gigs because it was dying out in a lot of places . After he'd done the pretending to leave before the encores thing it was all over *sigh* he'd exhorted everyone at some point to drink more 'The guys at the bar are dying man...and if you don't drink and up the takings I won't be asked back ' We decided to help out and repaire to the bar for a libation , then back to the hotel for a nightcap Hotel was having a bad day...and so was I when the had no bottles of beer, no beer on tap, and NO vodka Had to make do with coffee, then try and get to sleep ! Good job Pix was sparko, cos at one point I had to leap out of bed with cramp in my leg ! Jeez...thats a long un ...knackered now so I'll quit waffling ;D

LMFAO! Oh, the memories, the memories! *grin* I'll add my own thoughts on Monday (hopefully), when I'll do reports for all the gigs (but it's all in my diary, never fear!). But basically, yeah, what she said! ;D It was all a blast! Apart from the blasted hotel business, which wasn't at all funny at the time... and yeah, I showered in record time as well as NN! lol.
