Here's Ditto's report, copied over instead of linked coz it was a bit messed up!
THE GARAGE ~ GOTR OMG OMG OMG #641875 - 06/15/03 03:35 AM Edit Reply Quote
I've just got back, quarter to three. Straight run, no traffic, yay. We found the Garage, no trouble, drove past and I shrieked cos I saw the big black and white name and these gels sitting and lounging about outside. Obviously mad James fans waiting so early, bit like us.
We had a fantastic time. Highbury Corner is very colourful and interesting. It was very hot and the park is nice, everybody sunbathing and eating ice-cream. We didn't get a ticket for parking on a single yellow line and a cat tried to come home with us. We had a McDonalds and basked in the air conditioning and then got into the queue with lotsov others. Eventually the queue went right down Holloway Road.
Then Charlie and the gang walk right past us going to the shops or somewhere and I was too busy gawping to take a photo tsk. Peeps were buying and selling tickets and it wasn't too bad waiting. Deb got chatting to just about everybody.
Then the adorable (luverlots) PokerKitten and the glamourous Sali are there and they can get in straightaway at 8 o'clock, so they go off for a drink. Then, Marilyn's son Travis walks by and shouts DEB, she can't get over he remembered her from a year ago at SFX! So it's hugs all round, he is a gorgeous young man. Not a bit bothered about hugging ol' biddies in front of young gels and being shown up.
Then Marilyn and NLSpikette come and it's more hugs. I just love Spikettes and BloodySpikers, makes cons and gigs much more fun and it was so good to see Marilyn, since it's a year since we met her at SFX. Never met NL before in RL, but she is totally gorgeous peep and because of us she lost out on big money and never blamed us at all. She could have sold her spare ticket and we put her off telling her to hang on for more (we're so greedy) and now I feel all guilty. Sorry sugar.
Then we go in and another band who are like Dr Pepper come on and are very loud, but not bad and the flute was very nice and both guitar players were rather buff.
Then, OMG OMG OMG Ghost of the Robot come on and finally finally finally, they kept us waiting till the last minute all squashed and hot like sardines, finally JAMES COMES ON. OH MY FREAKIN' GOD. I got a bit excited.
Words fail me where James Marsters is concerned. I just love him. Really really really love him.
We last saw GotR in Paris this time last year and they have improved 100% and I'm not just saying that 'cos it's James. They were fantastic. The place was bouncing and so was I. No choice, like I said...sardines. When all the young things started pogo-ing to Goodbye, I had to as well. My legs are killing me.
James wore a black GotR tee-shirt, said the manager made him and if we wanted to look like him we should all buy one later. Don't want to look like you James, just want you.
Also, a collection was made at the end, James requested we gave what we could and it was for the Terence Higgings Trust. Aids I think. Good cause.
He was wearing a silver bracelet and a chain around his neck with a square locket thingy on it. He looked bl**dy divine. He sounded even diviner. The music was excellent. When they did David Letterman he told us they tried to sing it for him on his show, but Letterman was too shy to have a song about him and so they tried to get it on Leno. James said it would have been cool.
When he sang Helena's song, he said "This is still for Helena" aw. The poor piglet still pining. Stupid Helena. She mad or wot?
When they went off at the end to a cacophony of shouts, screams, clapping etc they said it was the end, but then eventually came back on...James said they lied lol..and did two more songs and one was German Jewish.
They are just so much improved!!! Ladyhawke and TC (Deb and Daf..sisters lol) totally agree. They were amazed.
There was a disco at the end, but we couldn't stay long as had to get back up the M6. Said goodbye to all gorgeous peeps outside and then came home and it's gone 3 am and I'm going to bed now. I'm soooo happy. I'm sooo on a high. I'm sooo first in the bl**din' queue at Liverpool Cavern on Tuesday.
JAMES MARSTERS I JUST LOVE YOU SO MUCH (I love him so much I'm quite prepared to make a fool of myself on this board).
I wish y'all could have been there.

LMFAO Ditto wasn't talking visually I2 she was talking about my sparkling personality ;D ;D ;D Ok I know it's taken long enough but here's my full report on Saturday, which I've also just posted at the JM board. Met Marilyn and cute son T at Victoria St. around 8.30am, we recognised each other immediately! Big hugs all round then into a cab back to my flat in north London. Marilyn and I sat around the kitchen table gassing for hours, with T unsuccessfully trying to catch a few zzzzs on the couch, he gave up and came and entertained us instead Off to lunch at the Tramshed in Highbury, just around the corner from The Garage and a short bus ride from mine (a short walk even, if you’re not a lazy lump like me ). Nice relaxing lunch at which Marilyn DID NOT choose the ploughman’s option Back to my place to get ready and wait for my ‘other’ friends to arrive. Tried to get everyone to eat but it was REALLY hot, so there was a little nibbling then we were off, had to wait ages for a bus (shoulda walked ). Met up with my sis at Highbury Corner, then Marilyn and I went in search of PK and Sali whilst the others joined the queue. Marilyn and I tracked the wayward two down in the The Famous Cock *rolleyes* which I’d somehow managed to remember as the The Dog’s Breath *rolleyes again*, lots of huggage and hilarity as we wound our way across the road to The Garage, my gawd I dread to think what Marilyn’s like behind the wheel of a car, coz the woman’s a right little speedster with a wheelchair ;D Sali and PK went straight in and Marilyn and I started to make our way down the queue when who do we spot but Ditto, Ladyhawke and TC!!!! Even more huggage (happily I can report all Spikettes seem to hug like Americans, good and hearty and as if you really mean it, not all wishy washy like most Europeans ) and jabbering, then Marilyn shoots off to retrieve the rest of our lot and we sort of just push in the line sorrrrrrryyyyyyyy DITTO! All worked out fine with the extra ticket, I popped back out just before the boys came on and found a girl in a pickle (not literally obviously ;D) she was supposed to be on the guest list but wasn’t, I think she was gonna buy a tkt off one of the touts but I sold her mine for 11 squid (what I paid for it) so it was smiles all round (except for the tout ) PK, Marilyn, Sali and T stayed towards the back on the raised bit of floor, my sis and other friends managed to hook spots on the benches to the right of the stage which we were able to stand on during the performance. It was a bit squashed but gave us a great view of the stage over everyone’s heads. The heat in The Garage was incredible, I use this venue a lot and don’t think I’ve EVER been that hot before, must have been the soaring levels of the female equivalent of testosterone the place was buzzing! One guy next to us said “oh my god it’s a Take That concert” when the boys came out hahaha The boys came out one by one and there were cheers for all, but of course slightly louder for James Now I’d really only heard the GotR CD before and I don’t know if maybe it was over produced or what but I wasn’t expecting great things, boy was I surprised and pleased, those guys ROCKED!! They were obviously having a ball themselves and reacting to the great crowd, who were very vociferous and bouncy J. I’ve heard on other boards a few peeps experiences weren’t the best, but on the whole I thought the crowd was pretty well behaved, just a couple of silly remarks to James, but I guess that’s to be expected from a certain amount of silly peeps. HEY EMZ! I couldn’t tell if you’d answered the phone or if it had gorn onto the machine it was SOOO loud in there! what was the sound like? Did you hear the cheering and clapping at the end of the song (can’t remember which one I called on!) Met up again with everyone outside and said our goodbyes to peeps, Ditto, Daph and Deb CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOUS ALL AGAIN ON THURSDAY!!!! *Kiss* Marilyn, T, PK, Sali and Sali’s hubby drove back to my flat while the girls and I hopped on a bus – and arrived exactly at the same time (what a good advert for London Transport ). We loaded up Marilyn and T’s bags and bid fond farewell till Thursday! I don’t know how the proportion of wonderful Spikettes (100%) I’ve met can all be so wonderful, if only all peeps were like us HAHAHA. I let the girls raid my fridge till they were picked up at 12.30am and then pretty much crashed! Kudos to all those who’d travelled down from great distances (specially PK!!!) you lot must have been well and truly knackered *kiss* Glad you all had such fun in my liddle ‘ole home town J I took a few photos which can be found by clicking on the link below, they’re a bit dark I’m afraid but hey better than nought! bugger I can't get the snappy title thing to work I've taken it out coz it made a fat page, and anyway, we have it a few posts up all neat and tidy!

I, uh, particularly liked the one of his, um, shoes (?), yea, right, the shoes, the soles of his shoes.
Cool pics, really liked the natural lighting and you could almost see his blues eyes in one of them.
