Opening up a new clean thread for James' theatrical extravaganza, and gettig rid of all the planning ones, so that it'll be eassier to find the reports that will hopefully be coming in.
Wouldn't it be nice if the folks attending the matinee were able to find a way to post, before the evening show *looks hopeful*

Moving stuff out of Prattle: Hiya gels, DeeDee and Ditto here, Cara (Ladyflame) on the pc next door. We're here again in the basement from hell, talk about hot! ;D We're still on Cloud 9, well I am. They both agree, DeeDee says above Cloud 9 lol. Lisa not Louise lol. Lou is the one who had the song written about her. Why can't he write a song about me!? I can hear it now Ditto Ditto please be mine! ;D Pluto, DeeDee, Rainbow and me are here crowding this pc and it's hot as Hades, mind you so are we *snerk* Cara's on the other pc. NightNurse has just popped by looking like death warmed up lmao and Hayls has gone up with her and Will and Twisty are waiting for some brekkie and DeeDee's just said if James doesn't want me then he could have her. Fat chance *elbows DeeDee outta the way* Pluto and Rainbow say thank you for the badges Pokerkitten, they love being official Dirty Girls. There was tongue yesterday PK omg I dreamed of bloody MacBeth all night. Omg. There was a question time with Steve. It was great. He said James is starting a new film Monday, 'Shadowpuppet' yay. He wouldn't give any spoilers but James is the star, he's only just starting filming so Pluto says it won't be done for a while, so you'll all have to hold your horses lol. We've got tons to look forward to. Cool Money out in December and now this film and Smallville in the UK. Steve also said James will be coming back to the UK cos he luvs us load but he likes to be sure of not letting us down due to work commitments so wouldn't give a definite date but he'll def be back. There were some peeps asking about Germany and saying "What about Germany?" when peeps were asking about England but no reply was forthcoming. Mind you he's there all the time isn't he, you'd think he could just throw in a gig. Pluto says she was sat next to an American lady and she said the atmos at James performances are better here, the atmos is better; can be a bit flat over in the States for some reason. When we all win the Lotto we'll go over and find out the dif. Rainbow says forget that, we'll be having our own private performance. I'm booking a lapdance. DeeDee says she's booking MacBeth especially the bit where MacBeth comes back after doing without for months and gets all rauncy with LadyM and DeeDee is hoping to play the part of LadyM with tongues.

Well, what a fantastic weekend ;D ;D It was a bit frustrating watchig DD, Ditto, Hayley and Ladyflame head off for the matinee performance of W&M ...especially as we were taking our lives into our hands by braving Oxford Street on a Saturday Even ardent shoppers like V and me had had enough after a an hour or two and headed back to the hotel to get ready for the evening ;D Pluto and Rainbow had ordered a cab at reception for 6 pm and Teebs and Pixie joined them. NL , Twistie and Will caught the tube leaving Miss K , M, me and Vix to wait for the car we ordered . A lady driver appeared and asked if we were the party going to the theatre, and we said yes, but could she wait one minute for M to come down from her room. Miss K and I had a quick fag, and the lady called us from across the street, where a shiny Limo was waiting She ushered us in and just as I was thinking about reaching for glass of champers , the lady said 'Theatre Royal, yes? ' Aggghhhh ! We piled back out again and back to the hotel reception to find they'd cancelled our car Fortunately we only had a 10 minute wait for another one, and made it to the Mermaid by 6.30 ;D We met up with a lovely lady called Sam outside the Mermaid after she'd been 'adopted' at the St James' gig , and made our way in after 'just one more ciggie' LOL James came out to arrange the chairs for the performance of Macbeth , and told everyone in the audience to 'Kill anyone who tries to move those chairs ' James and Cheryl ( can't remember her surname) came out dressed all in black ,James having a dagger in the belt loop at the back of his jeans ,and he proceeded to give an introduction to the parts of the play they were going to perform ....which was good as I'm an ignoramus as far as Shakespeare is concerned even though I did Eng Lit. at A level We were taken to see Merchant of Venice once ; a friends mother had a Spoonerism moment and called it 'The Virgins of Menace' which sounded altogether more interesting ;D Anyway, I digress ... the performance was spellbinding, you could literally hear a pin drop, and no-one even gasped when James threw himself into the kissing and stroking ...of arms , even though it was 'phew , how hot is that' moment ;D James was asked at the short Q&A afterwards if he'd written it , but I think( hope !) the questioner meant the links in-between , and he answered , to much guffawing ' Only the parts we weren't acting in ' He said he hated the way Lady M was always portrayed as a bitch, and M himself as a wimp, and that it was, in essence, Shakespeare showing the understanding between a strong man and a wife he considers his equal ,which was not something usually found in Elizabethan England . Altogether Fabulous ;D The Music part of the evening didn't get off to a good start when James broke a guitar string at the end of the first song , but Steve appeared to entertain us with a mini Q&A of his own whilst James went off to fix it ;D Someone in the audience shouted 'Will you marry me ' to Steve when he asked for questions ....poor baby looked slightly stunned , but countered with ' Depends how big your Dowry is ' ;D We found out about the starring role James has in the film 'Shadow Puppets' which starts filming Monday ( ooh Halloween) and that James would be coming back to see us if and when he could do so without having to disappoint us by cancelling ;D The rest of the music set was great, and I appear to have created a monster, as V was WOO HOOING big time after her fave 'Smile' and at the end before the encore ;D ;D Exit many happy bunnies to go find food and bask in the afterglow with a nice ciggie

LMAO Cy; I don't think Skaespeare adds it into the stage directions at any point, but if the actors feel it's right... and, you know, having been off fighting all that time, he'd probably be up for it, when he finally got back to his beloved wife. Heh, seems everyone's beaten me to it - just as well, as I never got a chance to write anything up in my diary! I L-O-V-E-D seeing Macbeth... I've never seen it performed before, even though I studied it for GCSE, and I've always had such a soft spot for it (I liked the witches! ;D), and it was great to see Lady M portrayed as a strong woman, but not a bitch - it was brilliantly done, and now I really really want to go and see a full performance of it (for preference with James as Macbeth... ;D)... so good! He sang well (but the amps were a bit funny in the more electric stuff so it sounded a wee bit funny from where I was sitting - right by one of the speakers, lol!). I loved some of the new songs (Ditto is in a better place to say what the setlist was AS SHE GOT THE ONE FROM THE MATINEE ) (Jealous? Me? Nah...).

Hi everyone! I had a wonderful time in London over the weekend. James looked and sounded great and his abridged version of Macbeth was outstanding. I loved the interaction he had with the audience during the Q&A. He's so passionate about this subject and it really was a sight to behold. Not only is James a talented actor, but he's also intelligent with it! This was a very different experience to the album launch in Coventry. I have to say that even though I had the up close and personal contact in Coventry, Words and Music was the better experience of the two, performance wise. He played Macbeth with such passion and I was mesmerised throughout the whole thing. Sitting in front row for the first performance and then third row, more or less dead centre for the second, I could have practically reached out and touched him. But I behaved myself and just sat there and drank in the whole experience . Seeing James perform on a London stage was a dream come true for me and he didn't disappoint. I know it's no secret how much I admire James, but this performance was something else entirely. It literally sent shivers down my spine and at times I even forgot it was James up there on the stage. He became Macbeth to me. Wow! That is all I can say. I knew this man could act, but seeing him with my own eyes...well, it leaves me speechless to be honest. Now on to the second part of the performance...the music. I loved it. I enjoyed his performance at St James Church the night before, but this was even better. He broke an E string in the first show and then an A string in the second. That boy must have very strong fingers to keep breaking strings like that! His voice is improving with every performance and I love the new songs he's written. "Up on Me", "All she Wanted" and "Button Down Vandals" were my favourite songs, closely followed by "Smile", which always gives me tingles, especially when I hear James sing it live. And that's it. I'm going to write a more detailed report over the next few days (yes, it will be even longer than this one ;D), which I'll be posting on my LJ. I met some wonderful people (JM fans really are a friendly bunch of people on the whole), including our very own Ditto and Dee Dee! ;D I had the experience of a lifetime. My daughter was mesmerised by the whole thing (she went to the afternoon performance with me), which made the experience an even sweeter one for me. Ditto and Dee Dee, it was wonderful meeting you both! I wish I'd got to meet everyone else. Maybe next time?

[glow=red,2,300]WOW[/glow] ;D That's how I felt after being privileged enough to see this 'reduced' version of Macbeth. James gave a spellbinding performance and definately more than showed his versatility as an actor, and his own word's between scene's made it easy for anyone not knowledgable of this work to be able to follow it with ease. His portrayal of anger, madness, passion and pathos had me riveted. The actress playing Lady M (Cheryl I think, forgot to note her name properly ooops) was as comanding a performer as James and played the part brilliantly, as someone already mentioned the chance to see Lady M portrayed as a lover, wife and equal only led to a better understanding of this character, and the act when she was 'calming' guests at the banquet while James was seeing and speaking to ghosts, was wonderful. This was a great performance by both actors and was truly deserving of the ovation they recieved. ;D I thoroughly enjoyed the small Q&A after the performance, interesting questions and as usual when James get's onto the subject of Macbeth, great replies, I could listen to him talk about and give his opinions on the play all night long....... The gig was by far the best of the week for me, having a great seat just feet from the stage and actually being able to see him properly added to my enjoyment, being on the short side I'm usually stuck behind taller folk and have to watch him with my head cocked in weird and wonderful positions.....lol I was totally mesmerized by him, and not for the first time found myself all emotional at a few songs, Angel in particular for personal reasons on hearing the 'new' songs again I find I love them more each time All in all a brilliant night that will stay with me for a long time to come. ;D

Wow! All these reports are making my head spin! I was one of the many poor souls who missed this , so I hope a DVD is released. I heard it was recorded, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is put up for sale. I think a few fans might be interested in buying it. Heh. ;D
