Hey! Sorry, real life is giving me hell, so I haven't been online hardly at all. I missed the Chance showing cos I had to go to the airport before it was shown. I've seen it already a couple of times, so no biggie for me...but Amber Benson is very funny and quirky! She answered (very patiently) the sameold sameold questions and gave a brief description of her new film. She's playing the dumb girlfriend... The q and a with just Jm was pretty hohum...not much revealed except a few things....his son is a chick magnet, lol, but son is NOT into girls at all just yet....he still thinks he's going to do the MacBeth thing....most everything else was just same crap....eye rolling bore for me, musta been a bitch for him to be fresh over! The three way q and a was fabulous, mainly cos Andy Hallett was ON....he had JM and AB rolling with laughter too....seems he's a quiet rebeller, lol...and when he was onstage Saturday told everyone the funniest bus story, which I'm sure is repeated somewhere in those links, so I won't detail it. But when he was signing autographs, he was very flustery....a change, having the signees move from one area to another, seemed to cause him great stress and confusion. I mentioned the Jacks or Better things to him and said sorry he wasn't coming....he then got very anxious and said they had never gotten back to him with another date....when I told him what was at the site and the date, he seemed upset and repeated that he hadn't been contacted again....I didn't know what to say!! Also another fan I met who was seated at his table at one of the special parties said he was very quiet and didn't seem comfortable at the table.... I love this pic I took with JM....I didn't realize (really) that I had put my hand on his leg...he was seated and I guess it just naturally landed there...lol! But T noticed right away and started teasing me....

Marilyn my Goddess! ;D Come back! ;D Oh yes, I'm sure you didn't notice the placement of your hand. Imagine the teasing if you'd ahm "accidentally" placed it higher up than leg! ;D

I forgot to mention the other people at the con....James Leary had a special StuntC showing, which I missed cos I was sleeping....I know, I know, shoulda went but I'd been up since five that morning watched Gabe, went to the hospital to see Dad and flew to Houston....the airport there is at least three times the size of NO....all I could think about was sleep! James Leary didn't do much else the rest of the weekend except come to the concert and wave a couple of lighters around while standing on a chair....made JM start laughing in the middle of his song! Spent alot of time shmoozing the crowd, know he went to the parties and stuff. Camden Toy was there, too, but I missed his q and a cos of waiting for my JM pic....but he was very casual, chatting very easily with fans...not being mobbed or nothing, so it was nice. Jenny Mollen I only saw on the elevator getting a welcome speech from a staff member, she looks like a teenager, very pretty. Andy Hallett was available to talk with, too, although he did not shake anyone's hands at the autographs or while meeting fans outside the hall...kept both hands with something in them at all times. Personal phobia?? Could be.... He thinks his green makeup made him so ...he said the makeup guy used to cover everything in the room with him while he was getting sprayed, lol, cos he didn't want that stuff all over his belongings!! I only say JW (Knox) from a little ways off, but he looked very conscious of the fans and better looking than on ...maybe cos his hair was combed and he had on nicer clothes, lol! Steve Himber remains a puzzle....never seen him really smile and he shoulda been, he was raking in cash hand over fist!! I guess aloof would be the word, but it never hurts to smile.....Actually, he kinda almost smiled when I accused him in having an investment in British rail transportation cos of JM's schedule..... ;D He denied it, but I think.....

Lol @ the enigma that is Steve. If I were him I wouldn't want to seem too approachable and jolly, either (and yeah, I know I already am unapproachable and grumpy, before you say it! ) as it will encourage yet more girlies to email him at the drop of a rumour. I do love the crack about transport M! You are a cheeky minx ;D

Lol, Marilyn and me, we often differ about these things. But hey, it makes the world turn, right?! ;D I just watched the Q&A and I found it fascinating. I love to watch and listen to him talk. It is maybe weird of me, but I was watching a psychologist the other day getting his clients to describe their perfect day... anything they wanted, as fantastical or down to earth as they'd like. It was part of a motivation exercise. Well, I would have to say, being locked in a room with James and talking. Just talking. Letting him do most of it, maybe (although that can't be guaranteed, because there is a reason we have a soapbox smilie! ). Anyway, I thought some of the questions were fresh and interesting; and his responses were too, for the most part. Yes, he has to touch on some of the same old ground, but even with the hair bleaching one he managed to slip in something I hadn't heard before, about why it hurt him so much! Lol. So, I shall put some of what he talked about in the relevant threads, but throw some quotes and paraphrasing in here. Even with the luxury of pause and playback, he talks fast and is bursting with ideas so that it takes the patience of a saint to get it all down. And I don't have that

General impressions; he seemed as fit (and not too skinny, afterall!), and enthusiastic, as ever. Lots of facial expressions and hand gestures and laughter. Here come the snippets, a lot of which would make fine Prattle titles, lol! Re his son and the 20 girls who have a crush on him but express it by dissing him - "Hang on son, it'll be better." Explaining how he was a good actor when he was very young, and then went too much into his head when he was a bit older and getting some bad training - "I was told I was way too intelligent to be an actor." "Every human being is interesting enough and beautiful enough to be stared at. Everyone." Re learning not to pretend to be something you're not, when acting - "Be yourself. It's good enough." "I'm very confident." "I like what's happening with my face." "To be a lead in a movie really comes down to changing your clothes effectively." [said as he slinked out of his leather jacket!] Re guilty pleasure - "Total low brow taste in film; high brow ." (eg Die Hard and The Crow v the news and the History Channel ;D) He would love to BE Stephen Berkhoff. Period. On Meryl Streep and how she refuses to do more than three takes - "And I wish I had her kinda power!" On David B - "You look into his eyes and you really don't know what you're going to get. No, in a good way, a really good way." [PK - *cough, smirk*] On his tattoo transfers in The Mountain, and make-up wanting to remove them after filming - "No way, I'm going out to a bar tonight!" On awards, and his at one time having a bunch of trophies etc for acting (that he boxed up and stuck in the garage). "James' ego trip." On improv - "Improv is the basis of all good acting.... I love improv because it's very dangerous.... I love danger. I like to get into a situation where I might fall." "Splat or fly." On whether he wore lifts in BtVS/Angel - no! Neither did DB! "I would just try to get as skinny as possible so that the camera would think I was tall." On if he was ever worried/disturbed by fan behaviour etc - "I don't get afraid of things, much." On celebrity and staying grounded - "Deny it, deny, it, deny it." "Celebrity is created to sell tickets." On being asked about what made up the blood on set, diverting to what he had used on stage himself; Sam Peckinpah's recipe - peanut butter, corn syrup, food colouring and coffee. On being told it was hard for the questioner to watch his role in The Mountain, having an acoholic father themselves - pretty serious - "It is very hard for me too, to talk about alcoholic parents."

He's a fascinating person, isn't he? ;D I like the fact that he clearly IS so intelligent. I like intelligent people... comes from being brought up in a university atmosphere, I suppose.

This part has to be seen to be truly appreciated. He was really all of a goo-gah! Someone said they had been asked by Lanford Wilson (eyes bug out) to ask if he would act in one of his plays. Someone else chipped in to say she had him on speed dial. And he was in Houston right now! James, all of a quiver! "Lanford Wilson is one of the reasons I moved to Seattle. Because he did. Didn't he? I heard he did so I moved! I mean yeah, he is arguably on of the best playwrights living in America. 'Two Trains Running'; I mean, Jesus, God!" All manner of wibbly wobbly! "I'm feeling a little nauseous! Yeah, he is absolutely one of my heroes. I would work for a dime for Lanford Wilson..." NB - Two trains Running is a collection by Lucius Shepard And LW really made his name in New York *** And yeah, he turned down a series that wanted him to move to New York. *** Yes Pix; very articulate, brain buzzing, opinionated. Oh too rare in yer average bloke I'm afraid. But then, he isn't average bloke, is he?! Lol.

Hey Pk, Pix
Is there possibly a link we could have to watch the Q & A or is it something you've gotten from elsewhere?

Sorry - to anyone thinking of asking. No I can't give the link, and the files are too big for me to share via YouSendIt, being on dial-up.

Poor James. He was thinking about August Wilson, the great African-American playwright, who did write Two Trains Running, and moved to Seattle.
But Lanford Wilson is no slouch either. He won a Pulitzer Prize in 1979 for one of his plays.

Lol, bless him. He was clearly gobsmacked, and under those conditions I wouldn't remember by mother's name correctly probably.
