Adorably 'dorky' (?). Not quite sure I follow that thread.

you know, when I first saw the lovely Aaron I thought "Hmm, secret love child...." Can you see why...? Hehehe ;D Umm... color me dumb, but are you referring to the fact that he resembles young James a bit? Right down to the poodle hair that James and Paul both seem to have? (Off topic, but Miles's hair isn't quite that bad, but it's mighty curly.)

He is like a big kid, all bouncy and giggly, when he is having fun so is fairly often described as dorky in that context. Goofy may be a better decription, but endearingly and sexily so. He seems to be at his most unguarded when performing musically so this shows up far more than when he is doing Q&As - although he is very forthvcoming at them, the persona is still partly an act afterall. But he turns into Tigger when he is with the band!

But he turns into Tigger when he is with the band! Or just talking about the band, like when he was on Craig Kilborne. Craig mentions the band and James brightened up and literally started bouncing up and down in his chair! So cute! ;D

Yup, you got it!
Now then, I have found more info Apparently the weather is awful in Chicago right now with lots of electricity cuts, and also attendees laptops are not working using the hotel's facilities so THAT is why info is so slow to come out. But my friend Elizabeth got a mini report out via a member of the BAPS list who livesin Chicago but couldn't afforsd to attend. She decided to go over there and see if she could find any BAPSters, and she did! Woohoo!! She then discovered that the Con was selling tickets to James', Tom a dn Danny's Q&As at the Pickwick to other punters for $10, so she is able to go to that. Good for her. But aren't the actual Con-goers themselves being a tad ripped off here?! Anyhoo, this is from Elizard:
From elizard at Chicago Con: typed up by undeadenglishpatient
Chicago Report……so far Friday night: Cocktail party George, Danny, Tom did a quick Q&A. They are so funny and so cute. Followed by Q&A with GOTR. Karaoke followed – Tom Lenk went up and sang Summer Nights with a girl.
Con is poorly organized – long lineups – comes across as a major cash grab **
Saturday – long lineups for everything. Autographs in the afternoon. Went to the Pickwick Theatre . It was like a big old movie theatre. On the poster outside it read "Ghost of the Robot" (and two lines below it said) "What A Girl Wants". Hmmmmmm
Iyari Limon's Q&A was first. So sweet and very cool. George Hertzberg was next – WOW!!! WOW!! WOW!!!So funny and really cool! Mark Metcalf was next. Each Q&A was prefaced by a video of show highlights. The one for George Hertzberg showed behind the scenes of putting on the makeup and prosthetic…Amazing! Mark Metcalf answered questions about Animal House, The Master, and his theatre work and his restaurant. Danny and Tom did their Q&A together – very fun! Lots of good questions, very funny. They're good friends in real life. Danny is so tiny. Tom wears his hair flat in real life.
Then..break..and Ghost of the Robot came on. Great Show – lot's of energy – lot's of fun – and some new songs – and some off the CD.
Party in our room afterwards: Danny Strong and George Hertzberg dropped by for a while – so nice and lots of fun – played a game of the "10,000 Sock Pyramid". Danny Strong touched Diane Ladley's sock. Sunday….so far we've had breakfast.
Almost forgot: GOTR.com party Friday night. I'm still picking up the silly string off my shoes. Picture a large room with wall to wall silly string.
Okay, not much Jamesness yet, but hey.... it's better than nothing....

I think it is very possible that James is getting a bit tired of all the Buffy stuff, but would never admit it. He seems to respond most enthusiastically to questions about acting, in general, and music. I can hear his mind working..."Please ask me about something other than Spike! I am so much more than Spike." Many of us know that, of course, but the character will always be with him and he will be asked the same questions over and over and over. Speaks volumes for his graciousness and patience. If we could all be so blessed.
Said it before and it bears repeating now that we know some video exists, let there be some of him stating his age! The truth is out there now! Yay, James!! ;D

This is from undeadenglishpatient, who managed to get into the hotel on Sunday to gather in Elizard's report and who then got to the $10 Q&A - good for her!! I'm particularly pleased about the BAPS stuff here, coz my name is on that proclamation - woohoo! ;D
I just returned from the BTVS Q&A at the Pickwick Theatre in Chicago. The speakers were: James, Danny, and Tom.
Everything said in the Q&A seemed very similar to what I have seen posted on other boards in regards to the conference in Cleveland. Quite a few young girls asked questions that I have heard posted on this board or others and the commentary was fairly repetitive.
However, BAPS did present the Proclamation to James and James was very smitten to it. He thanked our board and was very appreciative of the efforts this board puts forth. I kinda got the idea from what James said that Joss may visit here from time to time, but don't quote me. James said that Joss likes to listen/read ideas, but frankly he's not one to change his mind. That being said, he did indicate that this board may have swayed 'somebody'.
It was wonderful to see him in person. I like him personally just as much as I like Spike. He talked about love scenes and indicated he and Dru are more similar in their acting styles -both coming from theatre, so they work great together, they have the same jive. SMG on the other hand can go in and out of character so quickly, he has a hard time catching up - not a bad thing, just their styles are different and I think his head may spin more with her than with a theatre actor like JL. James doesn't snap in and out of emotion like SMG does. Anya - he said something funny....I couldn't hear what it was, but I got the impression that EC is a wild women and they had some fun....not gutter fun folks, just - well I think he thought it was kinda wild. Don't quote me.
Danny and Tom talked together at one point, which was great - they are similar to their characters when together. They played on the movie screen Jonathon's Superstar Buffy intro, which I thought was terrific. He does have work coming up, a movie I believe. And Tom Lenk is now interested in doing a beer commercial - because Danny did one. They were funny together.

Another report, this time from Laurie:
As Elizabeth indicated, not the best run con in the world. I feel really badly for anyone for whom this was their first convention experience. Not well done at all.
Some highlights, two of which deal with James; two of which don't.
1. Tom singing Karaoke of Summer Nights on Friday night, which was fantastic. He did a great job, despite being shy about it, and the girl was pretty good too. I was standing in a great spot in front, watching him, and also watching Danny watching Tom. Nice. Danny, Tom and George mingled with the crowd after the band Q&A, which was actually a lot more interesting than I expected going in. More on that tomorrow when I get home and can think about it.
2. I asked James in the Q&A if it were true, as my source had told me, that they had filmed a bunch of unscripted scenes. His answer was "oh yeah" and that he didn't know how it was going to end.
3. Alane presented the Proclamation to James at the Q&A. He gave a really amazing response, which credited BAPS a a great deal for Spike's redemption. He said that Joss goes on line and sees what people are talking about. "There's no way you're ever going to give Joss Whedon an idea for the show, but you can plant a seed, and I think you guys had a hand in his getting a soul." (Or something like that. My friggin recorder has the record button right next to the review button, so I taped over it trying to get the wording right. We'll have to wait for the definitive quote. But that's the gist of it. So yay us!!
Oh bloody hell!! I was okay with most of the finale... are we being gently duped here, or is the outcome really gonna be unpredictable?! Ack! Don't devalue Spike's drama and his ultimate worth Joss, you $£*%!!

Just peeked in on a GOTR board, and found a post saying that James and Charlie were sick as pigs from food poisoning on Friday night. Up all night heaving, poor things. Wonder if James was a bit green around the edges during his photo session. Imagine being sick like that, having to go through with meeting of people and singing on stage and worried about maybe having to hurl? That James is a trooper! But...what would you do if he suddenly barfed on you...

I would almost instantly barf on him, for sure! People being sick always makes me wanna do the same... truly gross! Yeah, I heard they cut Goodbye Sweet Girl from the gigs because James didn't think he'd be up to it, feeling so crook. Awwww Announcement - the filet mignon is off..... run for the hills!!

Oh, yeah...sympathetic barfer. Me, too! Gross, indeed. Damn, but con reports and pics are slow to come out! This waiting game can take over one's life.... Hope you aren't too sore, PK. Be careful with yourself!

Much improved today, thanks Hallows... but back to work tomorrow, yuk! Yeah, the reports are very scarce aren't they? Damn hotel, damn weather, slowed the news down during the actual event... and now everyone is in travel mode or weary mode

Yeah, yeah, but we should be priorities - btw, he wears two patches sometimes AND still has to have a ciggie! Lawdluvim...... Don't forget, details are required from leaving work on Thursday - travel and weather and food and hotel details all to be included, lol! You can do it in bits and pieces, but chronological. You know it makes sense! ;D

Sorry, I2...won't fight you for any lawnmowers!!
Where is that Marilyn with her report? Man, I have spent so much of the day wondering about James' current emotional state. Can't help myself! He has alluded to things, and the behavorist in me is piqued.
Just saw a little snippet on "E! Entertainment Live" about the renewal of "Angel" and James joining the cast. Showed a nice pic of James, and DB said he was looking forward to "messing with his brain" (James). Got a little preview of tonight's episode coming up....

Marilyn, I'm so sorry if you think you scared me off! Truth be told, I spent the last two weeks working on Cleveland con pics. Never take almost 200 pictures on a digital camera and expect to be able to print them up by yourself! This time I did it the old fashion way. Pokerkitten asked permission to post my con reports here, but since she hasn't yet, I'll jsut do it. Because its so long, I'll jsut give the link. I do ask a favor though. I have links to my pictures, but they include login information so please be kind . spuffyonline.com/mm/viewtopic.php?t=12&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=80
