I lost a dress size! And have kept it off ;D In fact my Gok Wan size 14 trousers are too loose Shame that I still have a bust like the prow of a ship ( Also all the Gok Wan stuff is cut WAY too big. my M&S 14s are still decidedly snug )

I should clarify, the burning pain is separate to the indi/heartburn; it's stomachy.
Almonds, nomnomnom ;D Only the tea and smoking embargo that would cause me grief.

Eww, I really don't like fennel I've put off phoning doc as I had a pretty good night, didn't get up til late, then spent an hour sluicing and hairwashing, and was just sitting down to brekkie at 12-30. We have one of those systems where you phone the receptionist and give them an outline of what's up. Then they put you on the list to be phoned back by a doc and given a telephone consult. They then decide what to do about you (by which time today would have been over!). As this has been going on for some time I will do it next week, honest!! Now I've declared it to y'all and to D I won't dare! ;D

PK, you are so far from a hypochondriac so I'm sure if you're feeling bad, it's the real thing! I've gotten really bad heartburn from taking aspirin...Excedrin...back in the day, and it sometimes happens with Ibuprofen, too, if I don't drink enough water with it. Have you tried a stomach calmer, like Maalox, or generic famotidine (Pepcid(? It's sold over the counter here in tablet form and works really well for me! (hear this in a sinister tone)...we'll give you til next week to do the right thing.... ;D www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a687011.html

A few days ago I was pointed towards having yoghurt with a teaspoon full of honey and a teaspoon full of cinnamon stirred in for breakfast each day, reason being that I've succumbed to an occupational hazard for teachers and have developed arthritis in my right shoulder, elbow and hand. It's because we spend years writing on blackboards and whiteboards and flip charts ;D Anyway it was becoming an issue and I can't be doing with taking anti inflammatory drugs because they mess my stomach up. Cinnamon is a natural anti inflammatory - though it too played havoc with my digestive system for a couple of days- anyway, one week in and my shoulder and elbow definitely hurt less and my hand moves much better ;D If you look on the internet you see lots of wild claims for the benefits of cinnamon and honey... most of which range from dubious to downright dangerously wrong but even Snopes cites that medical trials for its use in joint pain produced good results.

thanks for that Deb.. my Dad has terrible arthritis I'll tell him about it - what does it taste like - a teaspoon of cinnamon sounds very strong - and is it just the regular tub you buy for cake making?

Level teaspoonful, just regular cinnamon in a small pot of any yoghurt..the honey helps it to blend in... tastes a bit like eating raw cake mix. And only once a day... overdoing it is not good.
It does take a few days to start working and be warned about the *ahem* cleansing effect on your digestive system.
Also not good f you have diabetes, something to do with cinnamon's effect on blood sugar.

went back to doctors today as armpit worse, my boil/boils are now a small abscess. Have much stronger antibiotics and have to go to the hospital to have it surgically removed if they don't work. He was quite concerned and had a good prod and checked my temperature. He said l am just unlucky to be prone to them. No suggestions for prevention that I'm not already doing
