There's a long interview with director Richard at Coming Soon. It's not about PSILY, really, but of course it is mentioned: CS: This other one starring Hillary that you're actually filming here in New York right now, tell us about that. LaGravenese: "P.S. I Love You" is a love story based on a book by Cecelia Ahern who is the daughter of the prime minister of Ireland. She wrote the book when she was 20-years-old and it became an international best-seller. It's about a girl who married a boy at 19 and they've been married for 10-years, and just before her 30th birthday he dies. So she's a young woman who's been with her soul mate, but what she didn't know is that before he died he wrote her a series of letters that guide her not only through her mourning but also sort of rediscovering herself. I did it for 2 reasons: first because I love Ireland, and also because I had lost my friend Ted Demme (director of "Blow" who died in 2002). There's a lot of Ted in the movie. I put a lot of elements of Teddy in there that people from our group of friends will see him in this movie.
CS: You co-directed the documentary "A Decade Under the Influence" with Ted. LaGravenese: And he directed my script "The Ref". I've known him since "The Ref". He died during production on "Decade," a month after we started the interviews. He set the whole thing up, he had the production company.
CS: That was really terrible 'cause it was so sudden and out of the blue. LaGravenese: It was sudden, yeah, it was terrible. A lot of people on this movie "P.S. I Love You" have those personal connections to try and make the story, but I have a great cast, a great group of people and we're having a lot of fun. It's just been a real intense production because of scheduling. It's an interesting interview.

I'm still trying to read the book you sent me PK. It's hard going for sure. I don't know how they realised it was good enough for a film. I'd never have thought so on first reading it, 'cos if James wasn't in the film I certainly couldn't be ****ed reading the book!

Now you see what we meant! Good ideas but clunky writing. I never finished it

Lipsof*James was lucky enough to attend a preview screening of the movie and you can read her observations at CDS on this page. Not a whole lot of James, as he warned us, but still.

Someone on the PSILY IMDb boards has posted that the release date (presumably US) is set to be 21st December 2007; and in the main details, a 17th January 2008 release date is given for Germany.
