If you cut out the devastation it actually looks quite pretty. Bet it was scary though.
Ahhh, Bambi looks cute and what were you both reading?

It is a nice neighborhood actually! My Bambi is a doll. She loves nothing better than to sit around wrapped in blankets and sleep all day. Me, too, for that matter. ;D I think Laura was reading Shirley Jackson (a book of short stories that were considered horror back in the day) and I was reading one of the Little House on the Prairie books, Farmer Boy, I think. I was getting into the mood.

Luv Shirley Jackson...they're wonderful pics and gorgeous snow scenes to look at but the poor trees. Lovely place to live BG, the one's with the lamp-post look like Narnia.

Thanks, Ditto, that lamp post stands in what was once my pristine front yard, under my spreading maple tree and next to my driveway. It's hard to tell under all the snow and branches, I know. It was hard without the heat, but we have afireplace, whichyou can't see, cause my mom was standing near it when she took that pic of Laura and me.
Yes, I love Shirley Jackson, too, but Laura was not getting it. I guess things that used to be scary aren't as scary anymore.

I am listening to my Christmas music, but no decorations yet. I may do it soon, but I've got to get my house thoroughly cleaned first. J has cleaned up our yard really well, but you should see some of the mess around town. I may take some more pics when I get a chance. There are "disaster relief" trucks everywhere carting loads and loads of debris away. It makes me sad to see all the blasted trees everywhere.

Hey! Those are some great pics, BG, but for a southern gal like me, it seems like a cold form of hell, lol! We wrap up in sweaters when it gets in the 50's...we're such wimps! ;D It doesn't look like the poor trees even had a chance to fully turn to fall colors before the snow came! I know all about debris trucks...but at least yours won't have macabre stuffed animals hanging from them like the trucks have done around here....they seem to think it's cute.... pick them up outside the shattered homes, hang them on their truck beds....I think it's just sad! Teeb, didn't see your scenery pics, Scotland looks a treat! I hope I still have the gumption and werewithal to make it back to UK again, cos this time I'm gonna try and see Scotland. It's always been one of my favorite locations in the romance books I read...lol, the one I just got is 'Highlander in Disguise'....and of course, they are always the hunkiest guys in the crowd! ;D

Oh BG, it looks beautiful ...you forget how deadly snow can be when you see pics like that My Great Aunt and Uncle nearly died in their lovely bungalow in Bronte country one winter when there was a snowstorm that covered the roof and blocked the heating vents

M, a little bit of snow like that is just normal for Buffalo. Although not usually so early in October. It was sad, because that's the weekend that the colors are usually the best and we go sight seeing. Although further south from us it was probably perfect. My husband was in Jamestown, which is about 1 1/2 hours away and the weather was fine. It was a very localized storm that came off the Lake. We get that a lot! NN, snow is beautiful and I do love it, but only in the right context! Like falling softly on Christmas Eve while you sit round the fire with your family sipping eggnog.

Uh, excuse me...a 'little snow'....lol, made me smile when you posted that cos it looks like a major snow storm, even tho localized! I wish I could post the pic or two we have of our 'snow storm'....it was just a layer, but hey I was like a kid...that was two years this Christmas...all good times until then, so happy memories!

;D Oh God love ya BG yes...I can only watch snow falling and settling when I'm snug indoors We see so little snow here nowadays , especially in the south...how I remember the deep snow drifts of my Yorkshire childhood , and being so cold I couldn't undo the buttons on my coat once I'd walked to school ....Jeez, I sound like a Victorian matchgirl ;D

NN, you aren't? M, yep, 2 ft is considered a little bit of snow for a squall here. We've had much bigger storms. Just a couple of years ago, we had a storm with 7 ft in 2 days. I'd say our average snowfall is probably 7+ feet a year. We do get snow from October through May. Or at least we can get it. That storm was out of the normal though. Mostly the weather stays nice until right before Halloween. Today its nearly 60F and sunny out.
