Wildfeed is up at angelsacolyte.com/ Ack, I can't wait!! Nothing much that's new, as we have had pretty thorough spoilers, but one or two details have changed slightly. But it is intriguing stuff, plot and character driven. And makes you weep to think they waste time on wolfgirl and Harmony when they can come up with stuff like this.... And Spike gets to deliver one of his classic, insightful extended speeches. I was cheering just reading it.....

Lol yeah, some people have been foaming at the mouth waiting to see them together. I shall always think of Lindsay as Mary now Hope the downloads are up earlier than last week..... not that I don't appreciate the work that goes into making them acceptable for my dial up but I'm frothy mouthed too (I wanna see Spike's inadequate bed. And while we are on the subject, where does Lindsay get off on saying it doesn't matter because Spike won't be sharing it any time soon. Nasty man!)

Hurrah! Back on track! Thought this episode was very good indeed - thought provoking, lots of plot underneath the hallucinations, good characterisation, excellent dialogue. Particularly Spike dialogue. And although pissed off, Spike is more like the guy I used to know than he has been for a while! And well done DB, would never have guessed it was your first time! The Spike BitsThe teaser was great - loved the hallucina-transformation scene, where Spike drinks from the Cup of Perpetual Nothing (as he later calls it) and goes all glowy - in a good way - and quite beautiful (nice lighting!). And Angel goes all glowy in a bad way, LMAO! The strip joint was an interesting choice of venue for the first meeting of Lindsay and Spike. Like its name, btw! Peppermint Stick - makes me snicker for some reason! Have to say, Spike was looking kinda bored, more interested in his drink than Sunshine at that moment! I liked his initial brush off of Lindsay... don't you get the feeling that Spike has had plenty of experience at dealing with men approaching him like this?! And Lindsay sets up the theme of the ep when telling Spike he looks like he's feeling kinda lost. Both our Soul Boys are.... Spike is pretty intense with Lindsay once he has hinted at being the architect of his return. There was way more electricity crackling between them when Spike was interrogating him, and slamming him up against the wall than there was with Eve slithering about on top of Lindsay later... and no, I didn't find it remotely slashy, but there was power and passion there. James makes us feel stuff that unfortunately some of the actors can't... And that intensity seems to me to clearly show that Spike has been desperate to know just WTF has been going on; how and why is he back? Hence his snarky facade and strange behaviour in some earlier eps, covering up what he really feels, really wants. And honestly, this is THE powerful reason to me that he didn't go through with his BuffyTrip in "Harm's Way". He needs to find himself in LA or he never will.... His rant at the girl he saves is funny, if a little harsh. But his "Stupid cow" comment is delivered with him looking very pre-occupied. Lindsay looks like he is reaching when he says Spike did good before to impress... beat, beat... women. It does press Spike's buttons, and a large proportion of Spike fans of old don't believe it, not having endured BtVS S7. But Angel has accused him of this so it stings. I thought DB did a great job with the Spike fight scene when rescuing the couple. Nicely choreographed and shot. He looked determined, efficient and way cool! Very business-like, no nonsense Spike! And how he hangs his head as he faces away from the couple, as he says he's the hero. He doesn't believe it, does he.... I think Spike's apartment has a lot of potential! He is pretty good at making his place cosy and personal! Hope we see this as time goes on (hope he gets to keep it!). It might be another ruddy basement, but it is fairly spacious... He's right about the bed, but let's hope Lindsay isn't! Spike needs a warm heart and a good shag in his bed! No point saving himself for Buffy. Or for still carrying guilt around from SR. Hallucina-Spike in bed with Hallucina-Stunt-Buffy and a watching Angel was very funny. And we got Lovely Naked Shoulders of Spike.... The hallucina-apocalypse-depicting cake looked yummy, as did Spike being all modest, shy and grateful for the plaudits he was being given. And weren't Fred and Charlie just adorable being all thrilled for Spike and his beating heart, hands and heads on his chest. Aw! Pity it wasn't real.... And then the dreaded duster comes off for the second time in the ep, but this time for real. Yay! The scene in Spike's apartment with Wes and Gunn was the best of the ep for me. Could Spike's legs have gotten any wider?! Could his dialogue have gotten any better?! "Big Brother's LA branch" "....meat of the existential nut" And his terrific, so in character speech, so insightful, cutting through all the bull, telling it like it is. Remember him telling Buffy and Angel about their love? This was as good, for me. Maybe I am just pathetically grateful to be recognising my man again! "Look" sigh "I told Angel and I'll tell you. A place like that doesn't change. Not from the inside, not from the out. Sign on there, it changes you, puts things in your head. Spins your compass needle round til you can't cross the street without tripping the proverbial old lady and stepping on her glasses. And it's not like I wasn't dead gents, like I wasn't watching you. Had to haunt the damn place, remember?" And he sees what they are doing, even if they didn't realise it, "Hedging our bets are we boys?" And yes ".. the world gets murkier and murkier". Our Spike is finding his feet again in this ep. He hung around the gang and W&H because he had to, and then when he was solid because he was still confused, scared and needed some roots... but now he is starting to get his independence back, in his own mind, and feels more confident. Yes, he still wants to know what the fuck has happened to him, he is intrigued by the machinations going on around him, but he sees through people saying they are helping, or wanting him. Reminds me of when he was first chipped and he was so lost. Clung to the Scoobies and endured various indignities because the alternatives were too scary. But then one day he walks out of Xander's basement and starts finding himself again, starting with a new place to live. Still vulnerable, still plenty he couldn't understand, but ready to take some independent steps. And finally, I so like that Spike doesn't make a fuss after saving Angel. He doesn't hang around to gloat or banter.. one snarky comment and he's off. Don't know if they'll let us see this Spike again. I sure hope so. And after all that rambling I'll shut up... although plenty more to say about the other stuff in the ep!

...think you pretty well covered it PK...or maybe I'll go watch it again to be sure.
Oh, on the trailer for next week, Spike's getting sedated and for the 100th ep, Cordy is back and coma free...well, guess for that ep anyway.

Honey, we have been trying to keep that stuff from you! It's far worse than being sedated, I'm afraid! Oh no, I could bore you for another half hour about the other non-Spikecentric aspects of the show. Trust me! Other StuffI loved all Angel's hallucinations. He is right to angst about these things. But do you think he'll have learnt anything about himself, about the mess he has gotten them into with W&H, and about Spike, after all this? Unfortunately I doubt it. I was at breaking point with the Fang Gang's constant excuse of "grayness" in their work, so I liked Angel's little rant about it. And yeah, it was hallucinaWes telling Angel he was irrelevant. But I enjoyed it... ;D And the thing is, I think Wes deep down is starting to believe it. Spike saw it, the hedging their bets thing, and that and the rest of Spike's speech, gave Gunn pause for thought. He was at least a little troubled by it, and it was in his mind when they were talking to Fred later. But I think Wes is further "gone", but in a less obvious way. The wackiest scene was Fred pulling all manner of shit from out of Angel. I was seriously alarmed by the pearl necklace, and that she wound it round her neck... strong sexual imagery here..... The walnut heart was hysterical. Is that how Angel sees himself, or how he thinks others perceive him? The goldfish HAS to be something picked up on from BtVS, especially when they chose a clip in the sex scene of Buffy saying she kills her goldfish .... Angel's soul is a goldfish, Buffy did kill his soul with the happiness crap, and oooh, Angel killed Willow's fish (and she later restored his soul! Ouch, my head hurts!) But I'm probably stretching to say that Angel's emptiness, his being a shell, and Fred saying that she can hear the sea in his cavity is a reference to everything dying in Angel - his hope, his love etc - when Connor locked him in a box and dumped him in the ocean.... He sure hasn't been the same since, lol!

...and that was the last ep of Angel I saw... have no idea how that all turned out. Lol, at boring non-Spikey comments, I forgot to mention Tom Lenk is in the next ep with lots of long hair...only recognized the voice...oh, and Gunn got his wish cos he is also wearing hair, kinda peach fuzzy looking right now, but guess it will also develop with the eps! ...was kinda making a feeble stab at the Ramones song...member when Spike & Buffy were on the stake-out...but alas... ...what are they gonna do to him? No, no, no...don't tell me...I hate knowing how things are gonna end...maybe that's why it sometimes took me so long to have an orgasm...oops...am I allowed to saw that here? If not, just cross it out. Still trying to figure out the license plate coming out of Angel...so Jaws...or is that supposed to be the punchline? And Wes is def and I think most noticeably dancing around the table. And I have to say this. I just don't like Eve (no offense Hallows should you happen to read this), and it's just not the character...I don't like the actress. She's stiff, no body language happening there, facial expressions and voice intonation flat. And I find the lines (writers here) irritate me...referring to everyone as 'kids' all the time, she just doesn't do well with it. I think it would be great if she turned out to be Darla (incognito) in yet another resurrection. Oh, and did ya catch Lindsay introducing himself to Spike as Doyle? And did ya notice there is not a lot of height diff tween him and Spike and I always thought Lindsay was very short. I'm babbling about the physicalities as you covered the story pretty well, or I'm just babbling, take your pick.

You do know - as a non spoiler person - you have been dropping spoilers in here, don't you! Lol! Some people refuse to watch the promos for the next ep, they are so phobic. So desist! Me, I am spoiled beyond your wildest imaginings... if you do weaken and want to be prepared for the traumas of ep 11, you know where the spoilers live! Yeah, we were all meant to know straight away that Lindsay was seriously playing Spike by calling himself Doyle and doing those fake visions. I'm sure Spike met Doyle in "In The Dark".... or maybe I have gone starkers *snerk* There was a thought that Eve might infact be Lilah.... she sure wouldn't be Darla, who kinda died redeemed and touchingly, and then appeared to teenage Connor all glowy and such to try to make him see the error of his ways. But if she were Lilah, she has buried her erstwhile love and passion for Wes pretty darn deep. But she had hinted, earlier in the season, that she was older and uh, different to how she seemed. And maybe that's all there is to it. Re the sedation, yeah, but she DOES sedate him.... first And re the height thing - James IS short, no disputing it! There has been rejoicing in some quarters that Spike actually was able to look down a little on Lindsay, as opposed to constantly having to crane his neck up at the other gangly buggers on this show!

Hey, those hair references weren't spoilers! They were commercials! And you are absolutely right...cos Spike did meet the real Doyle...so what, did the writers forget that? And speaking of memories...so yours is a long one eh? ...just for that I think I shall introduce the word when I get over there and it will become the latest rage! And now you've done spoiled me with all that Darla/Lilah stuff cos I didn't know any of it! Member, I didn't see S4... ... was rejoicing in his quarters or on his quarters?

You should try to see S4. It did go weird, but I went with it! LMAO! Sorry, but if it has aired it ain't a spoiler no more. It's just something you didn't see!
But I sympathise with the guys who don't want to know anything prior to an ep airing because WB promos sometimes give waaay too much away. I know they want to promote Andrew, and Cordy (yay for Cordy!) but they can be quite heavy handed about it. (And running the two eps together in the latest promo makes it worse, but it is for sweeps isn't it, so..)
Back on topic, one of my fave non-Spike lines from SP was "Yeah Angel, you're blocking the apocalypse!"

I finally got to watch the ep this afternoon, and am just now getting around to writing... Did anyone else get the feel of "Restless" (BtVS s4) while watching this? There were some great one-liners, but I don't remember now... must rewatch later... Sneaky the way they got "Buffy" in there... some faceless blonde girl was real lucky to have a shirtless James moving on top of her... they used Buffy's lines from "The Prom"... "I kill my goldfish" lol... Now, to watch this week's ep... sometime...

Gotta say I loved the ep, strange as it was! It was wierd for me too, as the whole family were in and watching! Vicky is usually playing FFX2 upstairs, and the boys are at bowls....and I felt slightly embarrassed when Spike was humping away at the lucky faceless girl ...yep it was a hot cheeks moment ( I don't really mean those cheeks...but where's embarrassed smiley when you need him!) P say's I was like a pig in shit clover..feet up, coffee to my right, cigs to my left , and chocolate in the middle! Oh...the ep reminded me so much of lost Spike when he got his chip...and energised Spike when he found he could kill demons. Hate Eve...or rather the actress (don't know her name...don't much care cos if I never see her mauling great lines again it will be too soon)....is it me or does she have breathing probs...she takes a huge breath before saying her lines and another at the end....odd! Loved when he saved the girl...very funny, and yes she did deserve it...I would have said the same! 'Doyle' and Spike interacted very well , but as someone else said...strange he doesn't remember the real Doyle from S1. Big thumbs up to the ep and grudging respect for DB's direction!

*innocent* But NN, that was Buffy... she was just always turned away because... because..... er.... (I thought the dialogue dubbing from S3 was priceless!)
And it was a better class of sex than the tasteless rut in Harm's Way. Funny that it was in Angel's dream... and therefore his fantasy? (marathon man, heh!)
It was me and I2 talking about Doyle and Spike having met before, I think. But without rewatching In the Dark, I couldn't say whether Spike knew about the real Doyle's visisons. If not then I think the writers can just about get away with this.... (I'm feeling generous tonight).

OMG NN! That's why I don't watch it with anyone else either... it's weird even on those few occasions when my parents are watching in their room and I'm in mine... was really bad at LX with my dad watching over my shoulder... 'specially when that nekkid Spike one (Hellbound? don't remember which it was... in the basement)! Oh yes so did I! I could even fill in the whole rest of the scene they took the stuff from! ;D Lucky lucky lucky faceless blonde... I loved that it was right beside Angel in his bed though! mmm Spike and Angel in bed together...
