Hello Ladies! I have a Bells of West 87th Street report! Stephen sees The Bells of West 87th StreetFridayGot into L. A. about 2:30 PM, and went to get my rental car. I went to Greenway (took 1 hour to go 12 miles!) There was a volunteer there and I found out the Box Office didn't open until 6:30PM. I got dinner, went to my hotel, met up with Christine (my AWESOME room mate for the weekend) and got my keys. I joined her for dinner, but ended up only having some water. I got to the theatre about 6:30 and guess who I would run into in the parking lot - James and Cameron Meyer. James was running late, so I told him I'd give him my present for him and Sullivan after the show. After a while, the usual suspects gathered (Jean, Rosie, Patti, & Adrian) we were let into the theatre. It was about 3/5 full and I got a front row seat for the performance as there was only one wheelchair bound attendee in the house. THE PLAY WAS EFFING HILARIOUS! James was solid William the poet for the performance. The jokes were funny and a few times I was clapping and laughing so hard I almost fell out of my seat. I won't give specifics about the play until its run ends but it was BRILLIANT! After the show I got most of the casts' autographs (Robert, Carol, Cameron, & Dagney). And then James came out. I gave him some guitar picks for him and some for Sullivan. He was surprised I had the exact picks that both he and Sullivan use. I explained I had gotten one from his Drill Hall Concert and asked Sullivan on FaceBook if James still used those. It turns out Sullivan uses Dunlop picks as well, so I made sure they were different colors; James' Yellow, Sullivan's Smoky Purple. I had James sign a sign I swiped from his table at Philadelphia last year After the show FridayJames stayed for pictures and he said he liked the length of my hair (buzzed) and said if it weren't for auditions it would probably be my length (low maintenance) Thanks Rosie for taking this!I had Jean try to get a photo, also, but I had my camera set to video so we got this Photo, I mean videoJames then left to meet up with his family for a late dinner and Christine and I went back to the hotel across the street from CBS Studios Saturday coming soon.

Thanks Stephen, it sounds like it was a great play I thought Juliette was in it too. You haven't mentioned her so did she have to pull out? You look very different with the hair cut! I don't think I would have recognised you.

Stupid RL getting in the way of this! STEPHEN SEES THE BELLS OF WEST 87TH STREET PART 2SATURDAYGot up at the hotel with Christine and we had breakfast. We headed to the Farmer's Market on Fairfax and I found the present I was missing for James (Candy corn from a candy store). We headed up to Hollywood Boulevard and did the whole Walk of Fame experience. We had a great time just walking around looking at the stars' names and went to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum where I had an awesome time posing with (and doing things) to the figures. We got a wax hand made of us clasping hands and that is not for the faint of heart. They have to freeze your hand first and if you're a guy with arm hair you will lose some of it when they unmold it. Got some cool pics of the Chinese Theatre ( Album Here) and we had lunch at the Pig 'n' Whistle bar. We walked down to Hollywood and Vine and got pics of the HOLLYWOOD sign and Capitol Records. We got ready for the show and arrived about 7PM. There were a couple missed lines that evening, but only noticeable if you had seen the show before. Otherwise, it was still a cool show. James and the rest of the cast came out that evening and I had Christine take a video of James receiving my presents (Guinness T-Shirt & Candy Corn from earlier). Video HereI had James sign my programme and I got Elin (the playwright) to sign it as well. Elin is a really cool/chill person and really down to earth. I can see why she and James got along during this play. Later on Rosie Got my pic ( Saturday after) I look like I did because somehow where James put his hand it started to tickle.

STEPHEN SEES THE BELLS OF WEST 87TH STREET - SUNDAYHad breakfast at the hotel with Christine and went to Office Depot for Sharpies and Walgreens for provisions. I got James another gift at Walgreens (a box of KING SIZE Lemonheads) and then it off to Pig 'n' Whistle for lunch with Adrian, Patti, Amy Sue, Jessie, Jean, Nancy, & Rosie. Jessie made a surprise Birthday Cake for Christine, Jean & Me. Then it was off to the Theatre. Getting there was a nightmare as there was a street fair on Fairfax and a Carnival at Fairfax High School. Thank goodness I had a small car and could fit in a small space. I met up with Becky in the parking lot and we caught up some more at intermission. Outside I ran into Shelley, Jacque, and Theresa while we were getting our wristbands for admission to the M&G/Q&A after the show. One thing I forgot to mention is that the reminder announcement about turning off cell phone/mobile devices was said by James. The play was just as good as the past two nights. It was about 90% full. Once it was over David Fury came out and said to get some food and give the cast 15 minutes to get changed/ready for the Q&A. So it was outside in the Lobby for a really good spread of food, drinks, and little desserts. Becky has posted the Q&A ( Link Here) but I asked the first question about favourite lines in the play. After the Q&A James started mingling/signing in the lobby. He was accompanied by his daughter that evening. I wasn't sure it was her, but it was verified by Becky later. I videoed Christine getting her picture (taken by Rosie)from Saturday with James signed and her picture with James that night. With people seeing me with a camera I got handed somebody else's and I was kind of a "volunteered" P. A. for James for the next 20 minutes. I noticed that it was almost time for my flight so I gave James the candy (he said, "You know me too well.") and got a GOTR pic signed ( Here) and a final pic with James ( Here) taken by Amy Sue. I noticed Theresa and Jacque were leaving so I escorted them back to Theresa's car and then I drove Christine back to hotel and off to LAX and back home.
