One final piece of business: Clark, when that fine Professor Fine asks you to be his research assistant, you say yes. Immediately. — Bettina Charles
Ohhh yes yes yes yes yes! Please let me be your assistant, Professor Fine! ;D One thing I forgot to say yesterday because I was so concentrated on JM... I don't like Aquaman. I wanted to slap that toothpaste-commercial-white smile off his ugly face.

Tonite: "Smallville'' flourishes Charlie McCollum, 07:00 AM in Charlie McCollum,
In one of the real surprises of the fall, "Smallville'' -- thought to be on its last legs and facing tough competition -- is actually flourishing in its new Thursday time period (8 p.m., the WB).
Not only is this modern-day take on the Superman legend pulling in good viewership numbers, but it has also had a pretty lively year creatively. Tonight's episode is a lot of fun with Clark (Tom Weiling) having his first run-in with Brainiac (James Marsters, our ol' buddy Spike from "Buffy''), shown above, and Lois Lane (Erica Durance) running into ... Aquaman, or at least his alter ego, Arthur Curry (Alan Ritchson).
If "Smallville'' does come to an end this season -- and that might still be the case -- it looks like it will exit on a reasonably high note.

Aquaman beats Superman at watery save on 'Smallville'
October 20, 2005
"Smallville" (8 p.m., WDWB-, Channel 20, WB). Swimming with superheroes. Something's fishy in Kansas. When Lois (Erica Durance) conks her head jumping into the water during a beach party at Crater Lake, it's none other than comic book cult fave Aquaman ("American Idol" contestant Alan Ritchson) who outswims Clark (Tom Welling) to save the teen damsel in distress. All that plus "Buffy" fave James Marsters as devious Professor Fine, and geek fantasy nirvana has been achieved.

All of us JM fans tuning in is the thing... not that they changed time slots. Silly people.

Tom wotsit's a flipping giant. Wonder if James felt intimidated? How come everybody's seen this when it's not out here yet? Has everybody bought the DVDs or something?

Shock, horror, FishBoy didn't ookie me so much in the flesh! ;D Like the way his storyline dovetailed with the PertProfessor's proper introduction, given what Fine thinks of us and the planet JM was glorious of course, and I like the way they have him talk. And Lex! He needs a sound spanking after this one; I've never seen him so baaaad! ;D I volunteer to punish him ;D And I liked the continued nods to Clarkie and Lois' future relationship Most enjoyable ep of the season so far for me.

It was cracking! How old are they all supposed to be? Lex was drinking and I thought they couldn't drink until they were 21 and I thought they were all 18. Mind you, Lex is evOl! ;D I thought Lois was very rude to AC when she told him he had fish breath after he saved her life! James was exquisite.

Lois is always snarky when she is covering up her real feelings. Hence she and Clarkie bickering all the time too, love 'em ;D Lex is a few years older than the others, so he can swig it back with impunity

What a great ep..and Clarks line about Lois meeting someone even more super than fish man someday ;D The chap playing Aqua boy was nicely toned wasn't he?...shame his brain wasn't quite so muscular Not much of an actor, but pretty good eye candy ! Lex is a bad , bad boy and quite deliciously so . Ah Professor Fine ... I can't wait for the Flex scenes now
