Its taken me ages to get back, cos we went out to dinner after and Ive got to be up early to trekking back to the con to be in lines all day - hey ho! Man - I ahve the VIP pass and it still took us 1 and a half hours to get registered and in. Gonna be nuts there tomorrow!!
No James signing this afternoon - apparently he was on set doing pre-production stuff....!
Bloody wonderful concert! James sounded amazing - really was in good voice and a good sound man so the guitar (Chow aka Bruce) was clear too. When asked how his hand was, he did say "Dont ask" and had one word - whihc was the name of an over the counter painkiller beginning with R - so was giving him some trouble, but he was obviously nicely relaxed!
And yes - yummy arms on display in the sleeveless vest, lots of story telling in between songs, and we had a full set with a standing ovation, and then he asked if we wanted more... duh!
Set list - Layabout london City Too fast Birth of the blues All That she Wanted Civilised Man First Love Vandals Dont Worry Son Looking at You Not Fall Down Finer Than Gold (he lost it during this - right at the end - actually ahd to completely stop before he could sing the last few lines - was willing him on. He gets so emotional -whihc is why he then added in - Chocolate Jesus (not written on the set list) For What I Need (hilarious - on the talking bit in the middle he said "yeah you baby" looking down the centre aisle and then "Hello sir!" and after the song cracked up laughing and apologised to the guy saying he had it all ready to say and then looked up and saw it was a guy he was looking at....) Dance Slow Louise Goodbye
Encores - Smile Dangerous Cowboy Song
Cowboy song was utterly haunting. Best Ive ever heard him sing it - there was a slight echo on the speakers whihc made it sound amazing. He held it together (just) and it was stunning - and got him another standing ovation!
I have pictures! Lots! I was first in line for once and got my pick of the seats. I dont like being centre as its no good for photographs!
Oo!Oo! - the set list was written on the back of the front page from the Three Inches pilot whihc seemed very appropriate! (I have pictures of that too!!)
Must go sleep for an early start...

Ok OK impatient people - Im here with breakfast news!! It takes a while to get back home and get on the 'puter!
Breakfast - fan-fraking-tastic! Wonderful! James was chatty and fun and interesting and we did have discssions and it was great. We did politics, science, astrology, Spike, De Niro, Dragonball and cats and all sorts of good things! I started off by asking him about how he was going to cope if Three Inches got picked up, and Caprica got a second series, and he was wanted for H50 - and James added "And Smallville, so thats four!"(so they might need him again!!)
He said that if Three Inches goes to series, they have him first and foremost and he will get a seven year contract. He also said it might well be a short series if it is a SyFy does, so he should be able to fit in H50 -(and he really wants to cos he promised to take the kids to Hawaii!) and he also said that the Caprica guys talked with him at ComicCon and want to do something "really naughty" with him -he couldnt tell us what (curses!) - but we checked with Steve and of course its not been renewed yet....! So I hope I got the answers you wanted...
It was just great - Steve came in a few times with some fun comments too - his De Niro story is hilarious - but you need to give me time to assimilate everything and make notes as I remember!
I took over 400 pictures (my camera on its little tripod so I didnt have to keep waving it about and could look at James and just press the button) and he gave me full permision to burn Cds of his music for one of the other attendees who had all their cds stolen from their car (including Mad Brilliant - and then after, in the auto line I suddenly found James pointing me out to another girl saying - "go talk to Rosie" and that was about getting his music too - I seem to have become James's official CD pirateer!!) and we hassled him and Steve to get his music on itunes or at least extracts on FB or something!! (im just adding stuff as i remember it here)
Talked about Pandora the cat and how he had got her, about the mosque by Ground zero, oh and Louisa awarded James (with Steves full approval) a gold statue award - its a "Fanny" award as its the Emmys tonight and Moonshot being up for one - so its one from the fans - just wonderful - so funny and so sweet and James loved it. (she didnt tell anyone as she thought people might not like it - it was just brilliant and several of us said we would have chipped in if we had known..) and i will think of more Im sure and will keep adding as I do..
When we got to photo ops - they said "Oh we have to redo yours from yesterday - just do them all again now!!" as Im going forward to James! Mad panic as i coulnt remember what i did and was completely caught off guard and I was saying "Im sorry - I dont remember what we did"- so just did 3 and then the new ones an they ahve come out much better (despite the stupid green screen background - except of course I wasnt wearing green today!) and I still got the copies of the bad ones from yesterday too - will have to scan them again to show you - no jpegs)
I need to go and eat...
