New message at the site (no mention of Houston ) James has just wrapped filming on the film "The Pierre Heist" and had a great time. From what he can tell at this point, he thinks it will be a good film. Now he is back in the recording studio working on the new album! It should be completed and available in the first quarter of 2005. As many of you know, we've announced concert dates in the UK for 2005. We are working on dates in the US and hopefully other parts of the world as well. As soon as we have concrete information, we will post it here. As for the new photos on the website, YES, each and everyone will be individually signed and personalized by James per the specific order. In the meantime, wishing everyone a very happy and safe holiday season!

New message: "A HOLIDAY MESSAGE TO ALL JAMES MARSTERS FANS AND SUPPORTERS"
At this time of year we often reflect back on the year gone by and give thanks. 2004 was a great year filled with new challenges, excitement and unbelievable support. The cancellation of "Angel" came as quite a surprise, but when one door closes then there must be another waiting to be opened. James Marsters' fans and supporters have expressed this time and time again. Some criticize James doing conventions; however, what they don't realize is that James truly loves connecting with his fans and draws a sense of strength from that support. It also allows him to show his appreciation for all the outpouring of love he receives all throughout the year. The support seems to have transcended beyond the character of 'Spike' and is actually for the person/actor James Marsters. It is our goal to continue the legacy of finding other great roles for James to sink his teeth into. I have every belief that 2005 will provide James with those opportunities. There are so many people to thank for all their tireless enthusiasm and support and I wouldn't dare make a list for fear of leaving someone off. For the upcoming year, we wish you all good health, good fortune and to be surrounded by the things and people that make you smile.
All the best in 2005! That's a very nice message, but don't sweat the small stuff guys - so two or three people in online fandom grumble about JM doing conventions? So the fuck what?! They don't have to attend them, do they? And cons hardly prevent JM getting acting gigs, which is one of the things these aforementioned twats twits whinge about *nods*

I was reading some of the posts being anti James doing cons and things like Collectormania on another board last night, and really wanted to say its doubtful that film people give a toss about actors doing this stuff. If they think its because of this that James doesn't get acting jobs, it's cobblers...what usually goes against actors is the fact that they've been in a long running show....there is still a lot of snobbery about ' actors' in the film business, maybe not as much as there used to be, but I know my bro doesn't look as kindly on them ...something I'm trying to change his opinion on btw ;D It is a nice message though !

Besides which, since the end of AtS he has had a guest spot in a show - we might not like the show, but its network sure used him and his name and rep to push his episode. And he just filmed the LEAD ROLE in a movie for fuck's sakes Not one going straight to video *cough* but one which will be seen by millions on . I'm not a snob about movies; they get big audiences. Most actors in LA just. don't. get. work. at. all. I never really "got" the anti thing from some in the film industry either. Actors on successful long running shows are hard workers and adaptable, and have a sense of responsibility to their work and colleagues. They never had the luxury of flouncing to their trailers in a huff. No time no time, the show must go on.

Most actors everywhere are 'resting' 90% of the time....a lot of it isn't about how good an actor they are anyway, its if their face fits , and how well they resonate with an audience. Orlando Bloom struck lucky , as did Keira Knightley, winning roles in high profile films straight out of drama school....I've no doubt there are better actors who could act those two off the screen , but didn't get lucky...or were not as pretty LOL James looks good, and can act well, and I think the PTB are slowly realising that audiences are more important to the continuation of the film industry than they thought. Power to the small screen viewers...they know who and what they want to see ;D

I don’t think appearing at cons will affect James acting career, but I do believe that if he turns down too many projects it may. There are many hungry/talented actors who really want to work and will take any part, even if badly written, and try to do the best they can with it.

And you don't think he already did that with The Mountain?! *raises eyebrow* We don't actually know specifics of what he is being offered and what he may or may not be turning down. The film came completely out of the blue as far as us fans were concerned, for instance. If folks want to discuss his acting choices and options further, please feel free in the Actor James section
