As we all know, James is 42 today ;D Lavish your lurve in the birthday thread! But I read elsewhere that he is listed in the celeb birthdays in our (UK) hideous rag The Sun as being 35 today instead. Aaaah, doesn't that take you right back to the days of the big fat porkies little white lies about his age ;D Trust The Sun to be out of touch!

Aw, look at this:
"On behalf of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, I want to express thanks and appreciation to James Marsters, his manager, Steve Himber, and all of his wonderfully supportive fans including the Bloody Awful Poet Society (BAPS). In addition to being an incredibly talented actor, James is taking a stance and making a difference in the lives of these kids that need our help.
In turn his fans demonstrate an ongoing commitment to support his charity of choice and for that we are so very grateful. To date the fans have raised over $35,000 in honor of their hero, of our hero, and most of all, of the many children around the world's hero, James Marsters.
We thank you all." Sherry Vrooman, Sr. Development Officer for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundations

I thought you might enjoy this little snippet from the start of an interview with GP Taylor - described as a "Vampire-lovin' vicar and author" - in the new SFX:
"I always want to hit him," muses GP Taylor, staring at the picture of James Marsters on the front cover of SFX [last month]. "I have this strange, overwhelming desire to grab him by the throat and say, 'In the name of Jesus, come out!'"
Hang on a sec - is he implying something....? No, don't worry, he's simply referring to Marsters's acting skills. "He's just so good at containing that demonic presence," the author grins, before confessing, "I'm a Buffy addict!".
Heh! ;D

PHOTO FINISH
Lights, camera, action. Actor James Marsters has been busy in the photo studio to arrange an extra-special treat for Halloween 2004.
He booked a photo session date in Los Angeles this week and was back in front of the camera for some new shots of his post-Buffy look. The famous peroxide locks have now been replaced by a cool, modern cut and his hair is now back to its original brown after years of being dyed blond to play British punk vampire Spike.
The exclusive, never before seen photographs will be available for sale at Halloween 2004 next month. Attendees will be the first to see the new official shots. _________________________________________

Although there really isn't anything useful or interesting for them to say about James this month, SFX mag still can't resist mentioning him!
In their jokey "Betting Shop" columnette, they gives odds of 30/1 of James revealing he is really 68 years old ;D
Next month they do have a Buffy legacy feature so he may get a few more meaningful mentions then!

A couple of weeks ago, the organisers of the Halloween event gave info about a possible appearance by David and James on an MTV show, TRL (airs at 6-00 pm weekdays). 'Angel' and 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' stars David Boreanaz and James Marsters are coming to town. Tell the vampires.
The two hunks, who play Angel and Spike in the hugely popular shows, are coming to London on Halloween weekend October 30 - 31 to appear together for the first time at the Angel and Buffy The Vampire Slayer Fan Convention.

This month's Buffy mag in the UK has an article on James, which is basically stuff he said at the Slayercon 2004, so nothing new. The pics that go with it are very lovely, and there is a short Q and A with James and David re Halloween. Worth checking out. (mag is due out 15th Oct but somehow Forbidden Planet had it yesterday...)
