I think this thread was protesting at the number of OT posts when it decided to collapse again so soon.... Can we keep it for posting news, interviews/articles etc about Jamers, but if you want to discuss any items at greater length could you open a new thread to do so? Ta. So, I am copying over some of the info from the collapsed thread. Our man won another award! No doubt he would, of course, given it was in the SFX Awards! SFX Awards Lord of the Rings didn't win everything.
We'll bring you a full rundown of the SFX Readers Awards later (when the nice people from SFX make it into an office with a working coffee machine), but, in the meantime, here are a few highlights from last night's surprisingly glamorous London awards ceremony, hosted by the superb Chris Barrie:
Best Film: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Best Series: Buffy
Best Actress: Sarah Michelle Gellar
Best Actor: James Marsters
Most improved show: Enterprise
Hope for the Future: Doctor Who
We think that's roughly right. Apologies if we've got any of that wrong. www.bbc.co.uk/cult/cult/news/cult/2004/06/07/11951.shtml

Is Toy our only Aussie? Anyway, when he is over there in July he is apparently going to appear on Rove Live (6th of July). Here's their website... and I notice they have a gallery which includes behind the scenes stuff. May be worth checking out after JM has been on the show www.rove.com.au/home

James Marsters says he's ready to move on.
The latest issue of Angel Magazine includes an interview with James Marsters, who says he'd love to play Spike again, but feels maybe the time is right to explore other areas and parts.
"If a project was offered to me that was cool and had Spike in it, I would love to do it," he says. "It's a fabulous character, but at the same time, it seems to be over so it's a good time to move on."
"I'm excited about playing other characters. Frankly, I can't wait to show the world my brown hair, and the fact that I don't have an English accent and the fact that I don't have to be the snarky guy all the time."
"Whatever happens, I'll be proud of this my whole life. I told Sarah Michelle Gellar long ago, "We can get $10 million paycheques and be part of huge movies, but I don't know if we're ever going to touch a nerve like this again.""
Also included in Angel issue 12 are interviews with actors Vincent Kartheiser (Connor), Adam Baldwin (Hamilton) and writer Steven S DeKnight.
Angel issue 12 is out today (June 10th). This is the UK edition, of course.

One of the infamous ten locks of hair sent out after the charity shave-off has come up on ebay. And before all you cynics jump in, saying they are trying to get their donation money back, the lock has been donated to the Angel Food Drive charity. Fancy bidding?

This is a new one on me so I think it qualifies for this thread. Although obviously it's an "old" pic. Takes a long time to download for me *stupid dial-up* but I think you'll find it's worth it... James pic, pic of JamesETA - I have a smaller, sharper version in the James pic album at Bloody Spikeless! now

Oh yum! Wonder if there's any more from the motorcycle shoot? ;D (And it's 2.69 MB which is why it takes so long! ) Did any one else notice that it's backwards? lol Look at the writing on his sleeve - backwards... then focus in on his eyes and you will see the scar is on the wrong side!

As reported earlier in the thread, James will be appearing on Aussie chat show Rove Live next week - July 6th, 9-30 Oz time - and the info is now on their website. Here's how they headline him! Put a little Spike in your night with vamped-up JAMES MARSTERS Plus JAMES MARSTERS The blonde-haired, pointy-toothed Spike from Angel and Buffy sweeps into town to talk to Rove about Hollywood, stardom, and stalking the streets as a soulless, blood-drinking member of the living dead. Should be fun! Website: www.jamesmarsters.com
Will they recognise him? *snerk* Should we open a thread for this, in the hopes of some lovely person(s) being able to deliver screencaps, transcript, downloads to our desktops?

If you have prowled in the Pics thread you wil know that the next SFX mag has James on the cover. It is the August issue (#120). It is in the shops 6th July in the UK; I subscribe so in theory should get it early *shakes fist at postman for not bringing it today* and without the cover text, just the pic ;D I'll scan it, of course, and bring you anything else James-worthy inside. He did win a couple of SFX readers awards again this year, so there is a wee feature on that. The mag is for sale overseas, you just have to track it down. Usually a few weeks behind the UK. And you can subscribe online and have it mailed to you. But I don't think you can order individual issues until they are "back" issues. Cover and issue details here

There's a two page interview with James in SFX, as well as the cover shot and another of Mark Robert Halper's outdoors pics of him. I'll transcribe the interview tonight; haven't got time at the moment. ETA - all done. You can read it HERE, and the following page I'll go through it later to pick up the last of the typos!

Will have to try all the newsagents in the area until I find it...

Ummm I don't remember where we put this before, but Slayerverse has 7 more clips of James from Cleveland 2003 here. It's kinda old - I would put in the Cleveland con thread in the Basement. There was the entire JM Q&A sessions from Cleveland to download last year, and they were great. Took ages, though! Btw, if anyone is really unsure where to post anything, PM me - PK.

Surprise surprise, there were no AtS noms for an Emmy this year... again... However, in this week's Entertainment Weekly, "Ask the Critic" with Ken Tucker said:
Other actors in ensemble casts who shoulda got a statue? James Marsters in Buffy and/or Angel; Claire Danes in My So Called Life; Victor Garber in Alias. All these performers have been victims of Emmy's snobbery against teen and sci-fi shows.
ETA - Teep suggests that people might like to contact Ken to say they agree! If you want to do this, here are the contact details:
