Okay, Deb has now written a longer report - I'm posting just the gig part here to see how cross she'll get All of her report so far is in the Con thread. James was in freaking fabulous form! he said he'd really rehearsed for this one and it showed! .. I personally thought it was the best I'd heard him sing ... Christy still thinks Bristol one was better ... we both agree that it was amazing ! Can't remember the set list but he opened with Every Man , we got the album ( minus Katie and Patricia) and we also got Goodbye , Lou ( very punky sounding) and Birth Of The Blues and a gorgeous Finer Than Gold and London City... FWIN seemed to go down really well!! , wonder why? . Anyway he looks great he sounds great and he was his usual charming and gracious self! bless.
By the end of the gig the whole thing was running really late but , despite the fact that it was after midnight and James must have been beyond knackered the late night/ early morning talkback went ahead. James challenged us to embaress him .. we failed .. I'msure someone will have posted the transcript by now , I'll just say that he gave some really in depth answers to the questions and we heard a bit more about the " Monkey Behind Glass" line , It doesn't relate to fans or cons... the glass is the screen and the television actor is the performing monkey doing whaever he's told) .. James didn't personally hand out the CD'S hell it was gone 1AM and the poor lad needed some sleep.. also it seems ,sadly ,like a few people may have done a spot of inappropriate groping on the other occasions he's done this and so, with apologies from AU the CDs were handed out at the door ... fair enough
As I recall, he was the one doing the grabbing and kissing, in Coventry at least, tsk.
