Sorry for molesting your post Ditto!
I meant to reply to Pix and Cy and say I didn't want to go into the whole sordid business on a public board - there's enough James related aggro doing the rounds already.
But I wasn't quick enough . It's the heat, you know.... PK

Thanks Ditto, am now back in the loop. I'll refrain from commenting on their behaviour, as it prolly wouldn't be pretty. But if I did something like that, I'd prolly get a sound spanking from my mother, 25 or no, if she found out. "You're not too big to turn over my knee..."
She only ever spanked me once, actually, but it put the fear of God into me, so I was never really naughty EVER AGAIN. It worked. And I still pretty much abide by her rules even now... and she definitely wouldn't approve of molesting people on planes and stalking them. With good reason...

Nothing's changed. You can all leave comments at the source if you want. I did.

Sorry PK! I was trying to be restrained... my fingers sometimes run away with me, though... like my tongue. I talk too much, I type too much, usually end up with foot-in-mouth issues (open mouth, insert foot). Promise I'll be good now.

I'm putting today in room 101 as well. Have spent all day indoors waiting for a delivery which never came - what a waste of a sunny day! And I've pretty much washed every single item of clothes that still fits just in case I want to take it on holiday (leaving on Thursday). Up to my eyebrows in ironing (which I loathe), taking a brief respite from it at the mo. At least the last batch is in the tumble dryer, and it's getting cooler. Oh, and my fridge is caput. I can't open it. No milk, no cheese, no tartare sauce on my frigging fish and chips, no veg, no butter... I'm going slowly crazy! And to top it all off, it's defrosting all over the kitchen floor... and I STILL can't get the ruddy door open. Can't even have a decent cup of tea, and God knows, I need one. Am going fridge shopping with mother tomorrow, and fervently hoping that fridge can be installed while I'm away on holiday. But that might be a little much to hope for, I suppose. But what the hell am I suppose to do WITHOUT A FRIDGE???!!! ARGH!!!!! I'm sorry. It's been a bad day.

Is Px coming back from Malta to no fridge? Enquiring minds want to know. ;D Can I put phones into Room 101. I hate them. Just phoned MissKitty with regards to Halloween Tour Bus 2004 arrangements. She didn't get a word in edgeways. I'm so nervous on the damned phone that I don't pause for breath. Apologies Miss Kitty.

Right , my victims daughter and hubby are going into room 101 Ten past eleven last night, the stupid woman rang...did I know her mothers meds had changed, did I do this and that?...For FUCK's sake, apart from being able to bloody well read, the staff DO communicate these things to each other. It royally pisses me off that she A) thinks we're too thick to notice anything, and B) doesn't fucking trust us to pass messages on or do the job to her exacting standards( difficult at the best of times, sodding impossible when she moves the goalposts constantly Oh, and she said ' I know it's the wrong time to ask , but can you possibly do any more nights'? I told her it was definitely the wrong time to ask seeing as her mother had been asleep for an hour, and NO I bloody well can't....and that her father would be complaining about hearing us talking when he was trying to sleep. Her dad's been in a pissy mood...he doesn't like one of the staff, & is trying to get rid of her by being obnoxious and rude, and we all get the bloody fallout. They don't seem to understand that this is their last chance of making a care package work...and alienating the staff ( for the third time... 2 companies have pulled out before ) will mean the poor woman will have to go into a hospice, where they will have no say in her care, and where even though she'll be well looked after, will certainly NOT have 2 nurses catering to her, or her daughters every whim 24 hours a day I warned the new people that if this woman was allowed to dictate to them, they would lose staff, and here we go again One of the full timers has left, and another has gone onto part-time, simply because of this womans interference, and more are sure to follow if she is allowed to carry on upsetting the very people keeping her mother alive....and doing it very fucking well according to the specialist, this woman should have died 3 years ago! OK Rant over....had to get it out before I fucking exploded

BIH HUG NN as if your job isnt hard enough you have to put up with this. I can understand relatives wanting the best for their dying family member, but this sounds more like a control freak thing to me. I could be wrong as Im not in the situation seeing it. What doe syour boss have to say about the situation? Its totally pathetic that the husband feels he has to be rude and obnoxious to staff to get rid of them instead of doing it the official way. Hope things go better with your next shift

And I can't help wondering about the quality of life of the poor woman during these extra three years. I have no idea of how she functions during waking hours, of course, but it strikes me as selfish in the extreme to attempt to prolong someone's life indefinitely if they don't actually have one. And control freakery too, as Az says.
I do also feel that even though someone is being paid to care for your loved one, it is still your home and life you have accepted them into, so if you really have a problem with one of the people doing that caring you should be allowed to say so and hope for a replacement (I know it is tough getting staff). And that should be brought up with the "boss", rather than left to guerilla tactics, which is only more stressful for everyone (including the husband).

Bit calmer today, although I had trouble sleeping When I told the boss at the start about the control freak daughter she said ' But she just wants the best for her mother and you can understand that' Of course I understand ,and sympathise , that's what we all want, but the daughter pushed for all this, disregarding the other family members and the advice of every doctor in the local hospital! She knows best you see! Regarding the staff situation, and this has happened with each set of staff over the past 3 years, they will start off being friendly and then start to pick and carp about everything to such an extent, that they create an atmosphere whereby working there becomes intolerable . The 'boss' knows this , and despite several meetings with both family and staff, the daughter carries on , and carries on pushing the staff until they've had enough and leave. There is NO getting through to her, believe me, I've tried...she listens , and then does nothing different. We know it's difficult for the husband, and that we are having to work in his home, and try to be supportive to him as well, but their attitudes mean that it's nigh on impossible to get people to work there for long once they've had a taste of just how they treat people. I really don't know why she wanted to put her mum, dad and siblings through all this, I could never do that. sorry y'all...it's been preying on my mind, and I needed to vent, and thanks to you for your support
