The DGs at the gig just phoned me from NL's, feeding their faces instead of typing up their reports NL's computer is pants, of course, but I told them to get down to an internet cafe! I could get little out of them, other than the gig was great, they were knackered, they had four encores (greedy bitcas!), and they were told when they were hanging round outside afterwards that the guys had already left (but no doubt they were safely ensconced inside, waiting it out!) Oh, and there was the small matter of Charlie stripping on stage.... well, ripping his trousers/pants off at any rate! I am shocked ;D NN managed to get some pics tonight, and will sort them out when she and I2 go back to her place tomorrow. And they better write their ruddy reports as well!

HAHAHA we were fecking knackered by the time we stumbled home last night with and our chicken/bean burger and chips supper, no chance of us foraging around for a internet cafe I had I2 and NN check my puter to see if they could get it to work, but seems to be pretty fucked! I can't be online long enough to type up a report at the mo, but I'll do it offline and then post it as soon as I can. NN's gonna put on her digital photos when she and I2 get back to her's later today, and I'll pop my film in the shop at lunch time and hopefully be able to scan them or get a disc done so I can post them from work tomorrow! Can't wait to read the Coventry reports, but will just have to keep sneaking in as and when I get. NN's new mantra is "TIGHT JEANS, TIGHT JEANS, TIGHT JEANS....." ;D

Hmph, I was knackered (actually I wasn't, I was on an adrenalin high!) and stayed up til 4-00 am to write up the Coventry stuff I2 is excused because of jetlag *glares at NL and NN, but in a loving way, LMAO!* Anyway, sueworld has some pics from the gig... but did she post them here?! No! *sob* But she has a wee bit about the gig, and the pics in her LJ entry

The lovely DebW (hugs and smoochies!) has posted a joint report in her LJ about Coventry and Islington. I agree with every word she says about Coventry, as you might guess! Interesting observations about Islington. Read it hereX-posted to the Coventry thread.

There seem to be some widely differing reports about this gig, far more so than Coventry. It's always interesting to see other people's takes on things, isn't it. Anyway, as usual you can check out the thread at MTS for gig reports.

Well, I met I2 and NN around 11am yesterday at Finsbury Park tube, having been advised by NN that I would recognize I2 by the “little” hat she was wearing I had to do a double take when I poked my head round the wall to check if they’d arrived (I’d nipped out for a sneaky fag ), only to see two women laden down with bags, one of whom was wearing a red and white stripped hat 2 and half feet tall ;D). The gals had arrived at the same time as the rain, so after hugs and hellos we hopped on a bus for the 3 bus stop ride to my place, poor I2 still trying to work out where she was. Most of the day was used up sat round the kitchen table gabbing, drinking coffee, eating lunch, painting nails, doing make-up etc, we weren’t completely heartless though and did allow I2 a brief nap in the afternoon (she wishes!). NN had come well prepared in the make-up and jewellery departments! also bearing gifts (smoochies pet ), but we were fart-arsing around so much we didn’t end up leaving the flat (looking like tarts according to NN ) till about 6.45pm but it’s not too far to the Angel, and two short buses rides later (and sore ears from some incredibly brattish brats!) we landed up outside the Academy around 7.20pm. The advantage of being late meant we didn’t have to queue, but it was fairly jammed near the front, so we ended up left of stage, some rows back, but with fairly decent views, barring the male and female giants who placed themselves in front of myself and I2 respectively I thought the support ‘Lazy Eye’ were fair, not the kind of band I’d normally see, (just not ‘ard enough for me I guess ;D), but NN thought the lead singer was a bit of alright I think it was about this point I2 started to get ‘rained’ on , there was a pretty decent sized drip coming from one of the concrete beams over our heads, we weren’t sure if it was a spilt drink from the gallery at first, but it was fairly persistent, so think it might have been a pipe or something. The lads came on stage almost exactly at 9pm to a rather warm reception , I’m not gonna even attempt the set list (as NN pointed out, James couldn’t remember it so how the hell are we supposed to ), there were a fair few new songs, the names of which I haven’t a clue but which I liked VERY MUCH!, but plenty from ‘Mad Brilliant’ too. I was really impressed with Charlie and Kevin’s support singing, and Charlie’s solo was excellent too. James was his usual flirtatious self (that man is SUCH a fucking tease), lots of eye contact with the audience, hands in pockets (of jeans that were OH SO TIGHT – just ask NN, she’ll tell ya! ;D), running his hands over his bod, hopping around like a loon, twirling, pogoing, the lot! I was clicking away with the camera trying to use up the 400 film already in my camera so I could switch to 800, so hopefully they’ll be a few decent ones in the bunch somewhere. Steve wore his dark glasses all night, but there were a good few smiles, he was the closest one to where we were standing so think I got a few good shots in of him. Sean’s a sweetie James ‘bigged’ him up at the start and end of the show, fair dues, he a good drummer. Some of the ‘girlies’ were screaming out for James to take his shirt off, NN says he quipped back about doing a private show in his dressing room later , anyway, this is Charlie’s cue to say, “did I hear right, you want me to take my shirt off?” of course everyone starts screaming, he then goes to pull his shirt off, but instead whips off his trousers, leaving him standing in a pair of boxer type shorts ;D. They finished off with a 4 song encore (I think) to rapturous applause. The gals and I hung around for a bit hoping to catch the boys leaving, but gave up after being told by the guy waiting to clear the merchandise, that they’d left the dressing room and he didn’t expect them, so NN got him to take a couple of photos of us instead!. We shot off back to Finsbury Park, where I2 entertained the lad at the local chicken & chips shop with her ability to handle British currency (thanks for supper lovie , and NN talked Mangra (sp?) with him in between, I of course stood back being very couth ( Ditto). After a call to PK, (whom we were very impressed with for keeping her mobile switched on ;D) we sat up chatting till about 2.30am, at which point, NN’s jet lag and my knowledge of work the next day overcame us and we slopped off to bed! Damn good night was had by all, and I’m glad to be able to add 2 more BSers to the expanding list I’ve already met, for all of you yet to meet them, I can recommend them highly ;D. I forgot to mention James' hair LOL, VERY NICE! the singer from Lazy Eye was giving it a build up during their set, then James comes lolloping out like a right bover boy ;D

I'm gonna whup NN's ass for saying I have a Redditch accent - puhlease! I keep my phone on much more these days, even though the reception sucks dog balls... But when it rang, my first thought was OMG, something awful has happened (to dad). So was hugely relieved when it was you guys! ;D I really liked them NL, as you'll have seen from the Coventry report. Looking forward to seeing them again. Oh, and I agree with NN - and he def has the "stuff". Great report, thanks petal See you in one week! ;D

;D Sorry it's late Gals...I2 and I were trolling round London all day....I thought I'd show her the workings of the London Tube system.... I2 is still jet lagged, and now we're both tube lagged! Darling NL, met us off the tube from Heathrow...where I must admit to a touch of panic in case I didn't recognise I2...only to almost wet myself when the 2 1/2 foot red and white striped hat appeared through the doors ;D NL had cooked us a lovely veggie lunch (must get the recipe...for one of the kids to cook for us ) We then sat around smoking and chatting up a storm! We'd decided on sleaze as the look for the night, and I have to say NL coming out with a fab black lacy see through shirt almost got her locked in the flat ;D Only thing that saved her was I2 and I couldn't figure how the door keys worked!! The Academy was packed , and though we managed o work our way down not too far from the front , we were squished at the sides ...and James needs to be told he needs to work the whole audience...he only came over to our side once to fool around with Steve (and we looked SO much better than he did!) Took loads of pics , but the sea of heads and raised arms and hands in front of us , and having lots of lights flashing means I have about 12 so so pics......BUT...I do have a pic of Charlie sans trousers I know they started with New Man..and James was a tad flat on a few notes ( I2 said 'especially his abs when I wrote flat '...however we're arguing that now, cos he definitely has a little pooch!! Loved Katie and This Town, but we seriously had barely room to breathe , let alone dance! I know there were a couple of girls with sore ribs who'd been standing next to I2 pogoing ;D At one point someone poked me in the back saying 'excuse me, can you move forward? '...only to hear me growl 'I can't feckin move at all darlin!' I thought they totally rocked , and were ten times better than last year ..Sean is a GREAT drummer..and seriously cute...Kevins hair is shorter , and he seems to have matured a lot...Steve is Steve..fairly quiet but occasinally smiling...but he shouldn't wear sunglasses indoors...it's very uncool!! Charlie was getting very lippy with James..and pretended to leave the stage, and grumbled when James got the running order wrong...and when he tore off his trousers to reveal those whitee tennis shorts he got a huge cheer ;D. James was just gorgeous, and was flirting madly...but NO LOLLY LICKING !!! Can I just end with TIGHT JEANS ,TIGHT JEANS, TIGHT JEANS ;D * THUD* I2 here: Kripes, came all his feckin way and I'm still having to pick NN up off the freakin floor...twas embarassing last night as well...sheeshh...thought you all were the stiff upper lippy type...well, maybe it was the stiffy in the tight jeans did her in....No, I did not say that, this is NN's 'puter and she is pretending to be me..uh...I2...And I don't understand all the fuss about me hat...told everyone I was wearing the Cat in the Hat, silly NN didn't believe me...I'm NEVER a liar you know...you know that PK.... Gawd ...I think I2 is having difficulty with my keyboard ...set as it is to slow NN mode..plus having to type side saddle as it were ! Right...if ya wanna see pics I shall go and put em on my site now!
