Scala gig report from 6/19/03 (on gotr-online.com)Elizard was awesome enough to send us this gig report from London. Enjoy! ** Everything is going well in London. Good flight. I've seen a ton of people and a whole heck of a lot of London so far but that's not what you're reading this for. :-) Just got back from the GotR gig at the Scala. Pretty good show. Some technical issues that took away from the performance. I think James was having trouble hearing himself as he was a bit off in some songs but overall a very good show. The opening band, whose name I didn't catch were really good. There was a huge screen behind the stage that was showing various images. Really freaky. Most of the time it was like looking at a kaleidoscope. Charlie, Kevin and Steve came out first to set up their equipment. Charlie was walking around in a grey hooded sweatshirt and only had it half pulled on. He looked quite funny. After setting up, Charlie, Aaron and Kevin came on stage and played a really amazing song with Charlie on keyboards. It was amazing but I don't know it. Maybe it's a Power Animal song. It was great. They segued the ending of that into Liar and Steve came out and then James. James has got some of the blond left but he's mainly brunette now. He was wearing black t-shirt and jeans, silver necklace with charm and a silver bracelet. Steve had on a grey t-shirt, Kevin was wearing a stripey shirt similar to what he wore in Chicago. Charlie was wearing a white t-shirt with Ski Tahoe written on it. Aaron was wearing a black t-shirt. He's still got his longer hair. Yay! During Liar, James was really into the music and dancing up a storm which was very cool. He was bouncing up and down, twirling, clapping and swaying. Lots of fun and energy. Liar was really good and the crowd loved it. Everyone was dancing up a storm. James announced that Blocking Brainwaves was next and was written by Charlie, Aaron and Aaron's brother Nick. Bad audio during this. I could hardly hear James and when I could hear him he sounded off. I think he must have been having trouble hearing himself. Plus, when he did talk he sounded a bit hoarse so no doubt the busy tour schedule is taking it's toll on his voice. The next song he introduced was Valerie. He said it was the first song he and Steve wrote together and they wrote it together last year in Paris. Again in this one I had trouble hearing James. I found that often whatever instrument Steve was playing would be louder than James' voice. James was dancing during an instrumental part and went over in front of Kevin and was looking at him and dancing around. Then went and stood in front of Aaron. Later he went over and tapped Steve on the shoulder to point something out to him in the audience. The guys seemed to be having a lot of fun together. James said the next song was about a woman he met at work who wouldn't go out on a date with him. He said it's called "It's ok, I'll get another date, no it's caled Katie" Charlie was over on Steve's keyboards for this. Really good song. Great to dance to. Charlie is hilarious when he plays this. After he finished his keyboard part Charlie ran over to the front of the stage and made like he was going to body surf but pulled back before he could do it. At this point Charlie started dancing around. The best description of this I've heard is "white boy who can't dance so instead fakes a seizure". LOL James waved to us losers at the very back and then looked around at the images behind them and noticed what was playing on the screen "All kinds of fucked up messages playing behind us" At that point it was weird letters and peppermint candies. Next song James said caused a bit of controversy in Germany. Yep, you got it, German Jewish. Sounded great. The crowd loved it. The ending just absolutely exploded! Amazing! Charlie got really into it and fell down on the floor at the end of the song. When it was over James said thank you to the crowd and added "You almost killed Charlie" James was flirting with the crowd and having fun. Next song was Mad Brilliant. They said Charlie broke his guitar during this song. Charlie was amazing. Really rockin! The band took this next opportunity to promote buying their CD. James: We're Ghost of the Charlie (interrupting): BUY IT! James: Robot Again on this Steve's keyboard was drowning out James and I think there was a little feedback coming out. Couldn't really enjoy the song when you can't hear the singer at all. :-( Next was 911. I love this song and it sounded better than the last couple. The crowd started calling out to James after this one. He yelled out "I may be a whore but I'm an expensive one". Bit more banter with the crowd. The other guys got into it a bit which was nice to see. Then James started playing the guitar and Steve motioned for everyone to be quiet. James performed Over Now. Really good but not as good as in Chicago. Maybe it was my crappy position in the room but they just didn't seem as into it tonight as they did before. Still great and some people said better than Chicago but I just thought they seemed a bit tired and not as into it. James seemed very appreciative of the applause he got after this song. He seemed so humbled by the fact that people were clapping. Next song James said was about another girl who hurt him (aren't they all?) Long Time. He said it's Charlie's favourite. James performed this one by himself alone on guitar. Really good. Great response from the audience. Charlie went and sat back with Aaron during the song. The rest of the band came back on and James said the next song was really good because Steve Sellers wrote it. New Man. James was dancing around to this one. It's a good rockin song. James was really into the music. Great finish. Killer instrumental ending. The guys are sooo good. I'm constantly amazed at how talented they are. Last song was David Letterman. The whole crowd sang along. James was just clutching his hands to his chest and swaying to it. Kevin was so good on this one. The band left but of course came back for an encore. Charlie cartwheeled back. They performed DAngerous. Kevin broke a string on his guitar. Ack, they're about to kick me out of the Internet cafe. So I'll be quick. Next song: Vehicles Shock Me . James waved to Nick Anderson in the audience. This song was really off and sounded completely different in some parts. As they left they said thanks and James looked so very humble and appreciative of the response. Final comment from the band: LONDON ROCKS. ** -------------------- DramaGirl42 Posted: Jun 19 2003, 06:24 PM

Here's Some More... ExoticMushroom's big night out ... GOTR Scala gig! Found EM festering around a big speaker and we were nice and close to the front again. Gotta say this right from the start .. James was off key all night. Painfully so in a couple of songs. I thought they were far better than I had expected at The Garage, but in this gig at the Scala, they weren't too good. BUT...Shallowness saved the day. The set was big, the lighting was good and it really showed off our boy's assets. Hoorah!! James was less Tigger and more Dark Chatty Willow tonight. Lots of banter with the audience and he uttered a fantastic line when asked once again to take his shirt off. "I may be a whore, but I'm veeeerrrryyy expensive." Yes please James and can that be our new thread title? Quoting from the man himself. The crowd were a$$holes. Everyone from 5 rows back stood like stuffed pillocks and didn't move ( a fact that James noted.) Conversely, there was a lot of pushing up front, and I'd just like to acknowledge whoever invented elbows. Thanks. Mine were much in use tonight. There was chatter all through the quieter songs, which seemed to distract the band. We had a couple of hysterical midgets behind us who yelled ( and I do mean Yelled ) their theories about Btvs to each other all through James' quiet solo song. They shut up briefly when I chucked a hissy fit at them, mainly because I was 3 metres taller than them and looked like a fyoral demon, but why they bothered going was beyond me. Anyway, a girl in front of us made eye contact with James and he asked if they could meet later ( much to the annoyance of her boyfriend, hah). EM garrotted her successfully to put an end to that nonsense, as we continued to endear ourselves to the surrounding crowd. I did start a sweat count, but it just wasn't as hot and wasn't as much fun, so I did a JM nipple alert instead. That was mucho fun. Why was he cold? EM dedicated herself to a Jm Crotch Watch. James had on Jeans#2 this time. Old, frayed, insightful, commando, the fly buttons teased us with promises that they were undone, and the belt holding them up with the orange VIP tag threaded through it was exceptionally yummy. There were some odd people about ( there's Kings Cross for you.) One Spike lookalike had Spike's exact nose. Shame he had built his entire lookalike career on one body part when the rest of him looked nothing like Spike. He resembled an anorexic, albino rat, swimming in a sea of black leather, and that's being generous. We decided to work ourselves up into a frenzy after the gig. Steve came out and signed stuff, took photos etc, then disappeared inside, never to be seen again. James Leary/Clem was there with JM's manager(?) Julie-WhatsherfaceHyphonThingumyjig. It was hilarious, because no-one knew ( or cared) who she was so she wafted about angrily, hurling insults into a mobile, then played musical minicabs with Clem and a guy who I decided was S4 Adam's stunt double. Poor Clem. Only 3 people asked him for his autograph. Hope someone asks him a question when he does his Q&A with James. James didn't appear. No idea where he got to, but it was cold and EM, Vestip and I now have pneumonia, and fear phlegm and mucus won't be the qualities James looks for in a good woman. *sigh* ETA ... JM lurked. He really did. I was watching him waiting to come onstage. Lurking like a professional. And More! The review that Dramagirl42 linked to really goes through the set song by song so I won't, but I will make some comments and report some of the husband's observations which are not marred by any actual knowledge of the band. Charlie broke his guitar during German. Jewish. His first on stage guitar break! He seemed both proud and annoyed by this. He was very active and helped provide lots of stage interest. I really enjoyed his first song where he sang with just Kevin and Aaron. Steve was much more interactive than I expected and often waved to sections of crowd, admonished us to yell and even made some mike comments. He was the first to suggest that the girl who wanted James to take off his shirt should do so first (she didn't). Kevin and Aaron were very intense. I really enjoyed watching them be 'in' the music so much. Kevin broke a number of bass strings. As this is a James' based board, I think it's okay to give James some more attentoin (and it's what you want to know about anyway, isn't it??) Well, to be honest my feelings are mixed. Clearly James is a comfortable preformer on stage and loves what he's doing up there. His stage presence is excellent - both relaxed and excited. He always provides something to watch. I was very intrigued to see how he moved on stage. He started off leaping about but toned it down a little as the set went on - at times I thought he seemed tired (he did comment that this was the coolest and most comfortable stage they had played on as yet). I think the best word to describe his movement is sinuous. Lots of shoulder movement and upper body sliding from side to side. Hands characteristically low and groinward pointing. I think he would be a very good dancer - does anyway know if he is??? As my friend said- "Good god. He's even better looking in real life." Oh yes! Vocally, though, he had problems. He clearly had difficulties with his monitor - signalling for it to be turned on or up and eventually giving the crew a thumbs up. And for much of the concert he was quite noticeably flat- even tone deaf husband noticed it. BUT, when the music was quieter he was in tune. He seems to lose pitch when he pushes the volume of his voice (which is quite a common problem). I can't help but wonder if some of the songs aren't in the right key for him. He seemed much more vocally comfortable on the songs he had written, than on those written by the other members. So, I found the flatness distracting, I'm afraid. And if it is an ongoing pitching problem then he really needs to do something to fix it. I also think his voice is a bit strained - the inevitable result of touring when you aren't used to singing night after night. The songs. Well, the mix was not good - as Elizard said, it seemed as though whatever Steve was playing was louder than the vocal. I did notice one song toward the end where the vocal suddenly leapt up in the mix and James' pitch improved at that point as well. The poor mix meant that the structure of the songs and their dynamics got a bit lost. And, (don't lynch me okay), I think the band is having such fun playing and each is so into their part that the overall effect is a little too cluttered at times. Some songs seem a bit 'overwritten', they have almost too many 'variations' and parts in them. I think the best songs are probably the simplest ones, with the most cohesion of style within the song, but that's just me. I should say I only just got the album and haven't listened to it- which means the songs were mostly new to me. SHALLOW PART - One thing that really struck me was the way the difference in size between the members really emphasises their age differences. The three 'boys' have bodies typical of their ages, slight and not 'filled out' at yet. Steve and James, particularly James, are much bigger than them in the upper body. For some strange ( and probably very shallow reason) this kept leaping out at me. And, well let's face it, James looks as though he's been hitting the gym with a vengeance and is currently particularly impressive around the shoulder and chest region. The contrast within the band is quite striking. - END SHALLOW PART Which leads me to the husband comments. These are from a man who knows nothing about the band; how it came to be etc. DON"T BLAME ME OR SEND ME ABUSIVE EMAIL IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM!!! I just thought that it would be interesting to read what a complete stranger (a cruel and cynical outsider at that) to the band thought. 1) The age difference really struck him. The phrase 'mid life crisis' went through his mind. He knows this to be unfair, but thinks it might be a negative the media will throw at James in the future. 2) The singer in a band gets all the attention, of course. Doubly so in this case (though there were chants for Charlie). Husband felt that at times they needed to force attention to other members and this seemed artificial, but that it really needed to be done if they wanted to overcome the "James' band" attitude that much of the crowd, it is fair to say, do have. He thought James was an excellent front man and really seems to enjoy the love of the crowd en mass - and who wouldn't? 3) They were much better than husband expected and he enjoyed it. And this man is a harsh musical critic. (Hands up all you 'God speed you black emperor' fans out there! No one? What a surprise.) He felt the mix really caused problems to the cohesion of the songs, though. 4) And finally, he hopes that at least one of the band members has a succesful romantic relationship one day. And if all these women who James writes bitter love songs about and then names in public (tonight he named Robyn - whoever she is - and Liz Stauber, plus 'Katie') will one day gang up and lynch him. At least he's still on good terms with Helena of the Angel song. James, I think it might be time to ask what you bring to these relationship disasters as well. ( And of course James has commented that they'd better write some happy songs or they are going to become the equivalent of Alanis Morrisette). After the show I met up with fellow Aussies: Bitten and Landlady of the Crypt as well as others from Moonlight Rising: Nephalim amd IngridNY, which was wonderful!! Nephalim and Bitten are both on what I like to call the 'stalking tour' and are following the band pretty much everywhere. Of course they have got to hang with the band and I'm not jealous at all. Nephalim has some stories to tell. Go on, ask her. She may get t-shirts printed. Bitten just smiles and looks enigmatic. The band's secrets are safe with her. So, I did enjoy the night. I hope the band fixes the mix and James gets over the pitching problems, so that an even more fantastic night out will be had in future. Geena

Interesting little tidbit from the first Scala performance! From "Frankly" over on mts:
QUOTE (Goldylocks-UK @ Jun 23 2003, 10:43 AM)
" 'James also mentioned that non of the band could hear themselves at Scala and he was that frustrated he put a dent in the dressing room wall with his head after the show.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I heard this quote by him. I dunno, call me crazy, but does that seem like a smart thing to do when you have to have an MRI of your neck because you have a herniated "something or other" (that would be CERVICAL DISK James) as he stated on Liquid News? Men."
It's called frustrated perfection or perfection frustrated. Didn't you ever do something stupid out of frustration? God knows I have, on numerous occasions.
;D ;D I had a conversation with James about the Scala gig and the sound problems, on Saturday And Steve S was telling us more on Sunday night too NameDroppersRUs ;D I'm going to bore you with the preamble to the gig first.... As we arrived in London much later than we had anticipated on Thursday and as I was tired, dirty and feeling unfeisty, I had a chat to NL my roomie and had pretty much decided not to go.... The Scala staff had said to get there 20 minutes before doors opened so that I could make my stately progression up the many and arduous stairs in what is a lovely building but a hopeless venue for people with mobility problems (Az will testify to this too, as she struggled with the place on Monday). However, by the time our Spiker gang had pulled themselves together enough to go it was already passed door-opening time, so my resolve to not go had hardened still further. But would the Spiker Minions accept this?! NO! Did they pin me in my chair and try to prove to me that it could be done?! YES! They were quite sure that they would be able to take a corner of the wheelie each and lug me up all the goddamn stairs... LMAO! And most people would already be in there by the time we arrived and so it wouldn't matter that we had missed the appointed time to arrive.... For a moment I believed them and they spotted my weakness and whisked me away before I had time to veer back to Not-Going status. LMAO, the taxi journey there! I had wanted to clamber out of the wheelie and sit inside in regular fashion but oh no! The driver seemed proud of, and very new fangled with, his ramp into the back, but hey, he didn't take into account that the chair would take up a lot of space and that four other folks would have to squish onto the back seat! Well!! You should have seen the body contortions and agonised looks on their faces as the awful truth of the length of the journey across London began to dawn on them! I shouldn't say it, but it was hysterical! Poor Marilyn lost all feeling in her legs, and Sali's long, spikey heels were nestled perilously close to a young man's pride and joy! LMAO! NL had half a cheek on the edge of the seat and her thigh was pressed intot he back of the chair so she was in danger of bruising which would look like it came from activities of a more interesting nature Anyway, with laughing taxi driver and tortured passengers, we eventually made it there for around 8-30... and lo, the Minions managed to carry me up the three stairs into reception with grace and ease.... andf then they caught sight of the stairs they would have to face next.... This is when the Scala staff swung into action and summoned three hunky, attractive guys to do the business on me... er, carry me up the four, or was it five, flights of stairs! Oh dear god!! Onlookers said it seemed easy and quick, but to me it was a scary, undignified experience that went on forever! With two guys at the front and one at the back, they tilted me up and back and off we went... man, I dont scare easily, but trust me, I wouldn't go through that for anyone other than James and the lads!! (which meant I missed Common Rotation rock the house on Monday But a girl has to have some pride!). But having managed to cart me up there to the lighting balcony level, they then proceeded to be all hard and macho in scattering the crowd and making me a space with a decent view right beside the sound and lighting box. The guys were really very sweet, especially the oriental guy (and Sali thanked him "profusely" *ahem* ) and I was grateful if shell-shocked!
And within minutes GOTR were hitting the stage! So, perfect timing, no psychadelic crappy stuff to contend with this time! Lol! Yes, there was definitely a sound system problem, but it wasn't so awful as the guys feared and some of the audience reported. The balance was def off for a number of songs, guitars drowning out the vocal, and James was as flat as the proverbial pancake for most of Vehicles Shock Me. But when the music was quieter, or when James and guitar were doing their thing it was clear and true and beautiful. Basically, he could hear himself at those times, and not at others. And probably the other guys couldn't hear properly either. So, pretty cool that they still managed to deliver a rocking show, banter and energy.... and especially as they were also tired and run down through travel and illness. I was delighted they started off with Sounds Like A Personal Problem, from which you wouldn't have known there was a sound problem, with Charlie singing and playing piano and Aaron pounding those skins like no-one else can as it builds in intensity. Scalp prickling stuff! Loved it! And very well received. The others joined in and off we went with Liar, with James really getting into his patented spinny dance! Followed by band introductions. These guys all have their own fans by now, whether for hotness, musicianship or a combination of both and all get huge cheers. If any of them still harbours any niggling resentments over James' celebrity status and his crowd pulling ability they also should remember that in almost all bands the lead singer is the one who is the focus of most attention, no matter who he/she is, but that doesn't mean to say that the crowd are there for that singer alone. Personally speaking, if I didn't love their music and energy I would not have suffered the indignities of the stair mounting for James alone, especially as I knew I was about to have a James filled weekend. Anyhoo, this time I wasn't able to keep an accurate set list and running order but others have done that anyway. Katie is turning into a real fan favourite, Over Now was strangely clearer than at the Garage, and a new song to me, Long Time, was just wonderful. And they rocked the house with Blocking Brainwaves, Valerie, Call 911, New Man (minus any number at all that night, lol!) even though sound problems were apparent at various times. James always introduces the "controversial" song as German Jew, not German, Jewish but we'll forgive that And they closed with the always crowd-pleasing and addictive David Letterman. They were vigorously called back for encore, and a lot of the shouts were from guys. Charlie, having been not so manic and athletic earlier, made up for it by cartwheeling across the stage, hair a-floppin' *smooch* and bang, here was Dangerous, which was great! but ouch, followed by one of my faves VSM, bad bad sound! Despite the problems, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, the guys still rocked, and they can chalk it up to experience. From the way James and Steve talked about the gig, I reckon things might be better tomorrow night (Wednesday 25th) or heads might roll in the Scala sound box! I actually managed to walk back down the stairs under my own steam, albeit slowly and in wobbly fashion. But with the aid of handrails, stick and NL's arm and lots of pauses, was safe enough..... Out into the night, back in my chariot, in pursuit of food.... er, so how come we ended up in Burger King?!
;D ;D ;D Apologies for crap reporting in advance!!!!
Heard from the Scala at 3pm that though they weren't handling the ticket sales, they had been told there were about 60 to be sold on the door, so after PANICKED phone calls to himself( who was at Heathrow) to get his butt home and QUICK , he arrived home in time to get me on the 4.30 train to Waterloo. Tube to Kings X and then disaster, I know it says the club is 3 minutes from the station, but I've forgotten if it's left or right!!!! The map is sitting on the table at home, I have zero sense of direction, it's 6.30 and I can't see any people with their eyes glazed in expectation that I can follow(only glassy eyed drunks!!!) So , have to guess, and luckily (or unluckily) spy a stonking great mass of peeps outside a... snooker hall !? Thought WtF, then spotted some GOTR T-shirts and breathed a hefty sigh of relief!!! Until I got to the back of the queue and started chatting to a nice couple behind me who already had tickets, as did the German couple in front of me!!!!! Started to panic, till a couple of ladies of a certain age like moi said that someone was selling tickets outside the main door. Nice couple said they'd save my place(Aw), then laughed as I legged it all the way round the corner, dropping bits out of my handbag on the way !!!! Got me a ticket (Yaaaaay), and joined not quite so nice couple and waited what seemed like hours to get in. We got chatting to a nice young woman from Texas, who said she had to get her tickets shipped over there, to see the band over here as they don't tour America!!! The line starts moving oh so slowly , but eventually get to the doors, but I was stopped in my headlong rush to get in by an enormous bouncer putting his hand across , yes 12, my ample chest, till the foyer cleared!! Then we were up the stairs , all flippin' 10,000 of em' and , here , I lost my new found friends, cos I'd drunk a big bottle of water while queuing and HAD to GO!!!! Undaunted, showed my ticket (no. 636!& they bloody well kept it) had a quick beer and made my way down to the pit. Support band Pneumonia (or some thing to that effect ) with a lead singer who looked old enough to be MY Dad came on, and deafened us for 20 minutes. (the heap of junk just crashed and wouldn't let me on for 10 minutes) Then the main event !!!!! Others on here have described the set far more eloquently than I ever could, so I'll just say THEY FECKIN'WELL ROCKED, and despite looking completely shattered, they were still jumping around , but probably more swaying than dancing. James only did the spinny thing once, and sucked a whole lollipop, musta needed the energy poor darling boy. The problems with the sound had been addressed, and they sounded Oh more than great!!! It seemed that all the band got fairly equal recognition, and the whole joint was jumpin' ( apart from the German couple from earlier who I ended up standing next to...party poopers!!) We'd been told earlier , by the ticket lady, that the band were leaving straight after the gig, as they were exhausted and travelling home, which was disappointing , but understandable(and I had to rush straight home anyway, got a hospital appointment at 9.30 and no , not to have the smile on my face surgically removed!!!) Our boy looked MIGHTY FINE!!!! Plain Black T, unripped jeans, couldn't see his feet, didn't get further than BUTTONS!!! Biggest disaster was finding that battery had run out on camera, and on playing back, I have ONE bloody photo of what could be any old Joe, and five seconds of video, that looks as though I was standing at the bleedin' station when I took it,WAAAAAGH!! I had a really good view of him, despite being at least 10 rows back, would have been 20 had I not stood my ground with hands on hips!!!!! So, not near enough to do him any damage girls, he leaves our shores a happy , but tired bunny ,again nothing to do with me.... unfortunately, and he leaves us ,well, just more in lust with him than ever. Sorry, if I went on a bit, but he does tend to inspire the eulogies!!!
OOOoooh Note to self: CHECK FECKIN' CAMERA BEFORE LEAVING HOUSE, AND NOT JUST BEFORE GIG STARTS!!!!!!! Still purring here, the band were so great, and Goodnight Sweet Girl got a HUGE cheer, probably because we were all convinced it was being sung just for us...How DOES he do that? At one point JM said that "Heres where, if the band had a better front man, he'd tell a joke" Charlie piped up with "I got one, There was this man, and he died" The rest of the band and the audience sort of groaned, and he said something else, but blimey these Cali boys talk a bit fast for me, and when James'(oh so sweet) mouth is right up to the mic.(lucky mic.!) it was kind of hard to hear what he was saying, so missed a few things. Hard to miss was Steve, who at the end shouted "ENGLAND, YOU FU**ING ROCK", to a huge cheer from the fans, and a slightly stunned , "Yeah ,you rock" from James! ;D I hope the boys have made lots of money from the tour, because the sooner they can record the new songs, Katie in particular, with (hopefully) a video , the better. ;D Although the way the merchandise was shifting I think thats a given ;D. Finally , I must say a big THANK YOU to the friendly folks in the queue and the pit, I didn't feel lonely at all, and in particular John and his girlfriend(having one of my ' senior moments' and can't remember her name! ) who kindly walked with me to the station. John's girlfriend called him Sean at one point, referring to some time spent in Ireland, where everyone insisted on using the Irish form of John, and we had a good laugh when I said I sometimes call my son Seamus (the Irish for James) and on hearing the explanation , my daughter asked what the Irish for Vicky was, and her brother retorted "DIV"!!!!!! Some devastating news on the GOTR forums, that James had with him backstage, a Swedish girl called Josephine, that he met at Harvest, and Steve and Kevin had also found girls there, both called Jenny Thats on www.gotr-forums.com today EDIT: Well It WAS on there, looks like that bit of the report has been edited out, and just refers to LondonGirl's friend going backstage!!!!!!!! The plot thickens
