Wow some great reports there PK thanks for hunting them down or pointing us in the right direction. Looks like James was being a bit of a bad boy this weekend. "Good on him" that's what I say seems like he was having a good time and letting the real him show through a little bit. I mean he's not a bloody saint for gods sake LMAO at him and the woman taking her top off sure called his bluff didn't she that'll teach him. M sounds like you had a good time and some lovely interaction with James you make me so jealous. Thanks for your report it was great. ;D

Hey Twisty....I ( and Travis) was wishing you all were with us! Btw, I forgot, the second time, I had Travis with me and introduced him to JM.....he also said ( following up on the charm is enough talk) that he's treated so great at cons, like a king....then he goes to work in a warehouse and just becomes one of the crowd...do this, do that......I said you must like it, you keep going back....and he laughed again and said, yea, true...it's great! (You know old brains take awhile to assimilate info and stuff! Things just take awhile to surface! :

Wow that's great M I can just picture you talking to James you are so brave. We wished we were there with you too it sounds like it was a great con. I just forget everything when he's there and never get to say what I want. Did T get to say anything to him?? Didn't mention his dancing did he?? LOL.

I need to get this straight if I am adding it into your con report - you meant he must like working on Buffy/Angel coz he keeps going back? Or he must like the attention so he keeps doing cons?

Sheesh, I don't know, PK....I was referencing the show and took for granted he meant the same....does that make sense?

;D M...We just got to go to a con all together next year...You sound like you had a great time! Lmao at the description of James' assistants face at your comments ...she must have had a sense of humour bypass to get the job! He'd be laughing all day if you were his assistant!! Glad you and T had a good time*sigh*, not jealous at all !!

You are so right, NN....it's got to be something we work toward....and I would make a great assistant....perhaps I should write myself a resume and send it to him for the next con......I'd bring tootsie roll pops and kleenex for the cryers and the droolers....and a cattle prod for the overly sexed (except BSers, of course....we are a horse of a different color....lmao!) ;D To get that gig you'll have to volunteer to be a steward... and you'll probably find yourself standing at doors checking badges instead! - PK

Hmm... yet another point of view of the shirt thing... this one added that James said "F**k no!" to taking off his shirt and hugged the whore female person. Interesting report... too bad about the cop thing... though she said something about her "Yankee mouth" and her location under her name says Alabama...hmmm...

I'd read other reports about the FUCK no and the hug has caused some consternation, particularly as she was still topless at the time. Haunt is a bloke, btw, and a damn romantic and intelligent one at that. He is marrying someone he met via the BBB, which is amazing

and the hug has caused some consternation, particularly as she was still topless at the time. I imagine... ugh... and all the people that then hugged him later... Oops... didn't see a m/f designation on there, but did read about the marrying someone from the board... that's kinda cool!

Howdy, folks, been awhile since I was able to come here but I've got a couple months before the next con so I hope to get caught up in what's going on online... PK, thanks for all the great Dragon*Con info and photo links...so that's what I missed! Gotcha! Actually, I was there, but I was working - as usual - and so missed all of James's Q&A's except the full group one on Monday, which had me laughing until my face hurt (well, at what I could hear, anyway...). The only other non-work thing I did was the Monday night "OMWF" singalong, which was just a scream. Otherwise the only con thing I got to see was the Andy Hallett/James Leary panel on Saturday, which was as hilariously funny as you'd think it would be with those two in attendance! Oh wait, I went to the banquet and James M. won an award but of course he wasn't there to accept it...I was actually out of the room when it was announced and no one can tell me what it was for exactly, but he did win something, apparently... Saw Ghost and - well...the sound wasn't so good where I was so it wasn't the most enjoyable thing I've ever done...but James was gorgeous and having a ball being a "rock star" so we'll leave it at that. Did manage to get a couple of autographs and a photo op with him, but of course the photo op was on Monday, after me having worked for three days on little sleep or food so I look like crap and he looked amazing in black, swoon...but he was very sweet and put up with my stumbling around trying to figure out where to go very patiently and nicely... Dragon*Con was an experience I'll never forget, that's for sure! rockgoddes PS. Didn't get to do that panel with elizard 'cause I had to work...

Aw, that's a shame petal. One of these days you are gonna have to go to one of these things and NOT volunteer for anything! Just sit back and enjoy (or queue and enjoy, but you catch my drift!). I'm sure your piccie will be just great! Okay, we have had piccies from Night Nymph, but I had to bring you this little anecdote she posted at F4F... it's adorable!

;D pokerkitten..Thanks for posting so many cracking reports & piccys..Even the naff tank top yielded arms a plenty..so can't be bad... I too enjoyed Haunt's warts 'an all account, and James seemed genuinely touched when told about his impending nuptuals.. Still having trouble processing the..'James dabbling in beading' part. Didn't see that coming..and quite frankly it's thrown me for six.. he's such a lovable geek. I wonder what other hidden talents he's gonna fess upto.. the mind faily boggles thinking of all the possibilities..

Greetings and salutations...just throught I would drop by and say hi. I was at DragonCon, because I am the webmaster for Visionary Entertainment. I'm also a big Buffy fan, and Spike is a personal favorite character of mine. I had the chance to meet Mr. Marstens, not once, not twice, but three times on that Friday. The first time was when I was helping our booth set-up. James arrived when I was coming back with a glass of water. He had, I'm assuming, his assistance (the lady that was with him most of the time) and stopped by to get a water to. I greeted him, he said hi back, nothing fancy, just hi, how are you, brief introductions (my name is so and so...he introduced himself as James, etc)...have a good day, and then we were both off with our day. Later that day, I briefly spoke to him when he was taking a break. He was hanging outside of the dealer's room, just talking with some people. Once again, nothing big, just hey again, etc. Then I went with my boss's brother. The line was not that bad. This was Friday afternoon, and things hadn't started to get too packed yet, so we went to check out teh Walk of Fame. I said, hell...I'll go ahead and get an autograph. Unfortunately, they didn't have any more pictures left, and the only thing I had was a piece of notebook paper. I paid the money to the assistant, and shook his hand again... "Robert, right?" I was shocked that he remembered my name, but I said yeah. I put down the paper in front of him, and he asked me if that was all that I had...he laughed when I said yeah, so he said he would do a really good signature for me he. He signed it, and handed it back to me saying: "That's better writing than any of my teachers ever got in school." Well, I am a teacher when I'm not doing web design (6th Grade Language Arts)...actually webdesign is just a side thing. He laughed, not believing that, then we actually got into a conversation about education and things of that nature. He said has always been the biggest nerd. In school, on the set of Buffy, and even now on the set of Angel. He says he is never seen without a book of some kind. I asked what he read, and he said everything. I asked him what the biggest difference between Buffy and Angel was so far. He said Buffy was his family. They all hung out, called each other all the time, and gave each other birthday gifts and stuff like that...Angel, even though he's worked with most of them before...and he's good friends with David...it's not family yet, but then again, he'd only just joined. He said it was basically like starting over. After about ten minutes of talking, I just calmly asked if I could get a picture. He said he didn't care, but I had to talk to his assistant. She said she didn't care, but they had to watch out for "her." The her they were referring to was the tall lady with the long black hair who was running the Walk of Fame for DragonCon, and was literally threatening to throw people out left and right if they didn't do what she said. One of the big rules is you don't take pictures of the "big celebrities" ala all the Buffy people. Well she wasn't around, so James said go ahead and take a picture. Right when I had the camera ready to take, "she" came around the corner, to check on something. Both James and his assistant so her. James held out his hands and said..."Shit, hold on!" And then proceeded to act like he was signing an autograph, while I hid the camera. Luckily, she just got something and went back around the corner, and he said I could take the picture, which is the following picture. www.visionaryentertainment.com/dc08292003/spike1.jpgI shook his hand again, gave him a card (hey, it couldn't hurt), and wished him a good weekend. So that was my James Marstens story. The rest of the weekend, I would pass him by and things like that, and he would say hi, but it got so hectic after that, nobody had a free moment. I didn't get a chance to go to any of the Buffy panels, simply because by the time I got off work, the lines were so far back, there was no hope. I wanted to go see the concert, but no go on that either. Oh well, I had a fun weekend anyway. I hope you Spike-ites enjoyed this story, and if you wanted to see other pictures from DragonCon, check them out at... www.visionaryentertainment.com
