Hi everyone here at last is my pic of James and me at the Harvest. Took some doing to get them bloomin' scanned I'll tell ya.
A little bit about my meeting with James. I'd like to say I had a long and meaningful conversation with him but It'd be a lie of course. ;D
Anyway we didn't get any glimpses of James before the photo session so I was very excited to see what he was wearing how much his hair had grown out etc.
I thought that with meeting him before at SFX i wouldn't be nervous this time, but god was I wrong. The closer we got to James the more I started to shake it's really strange because having my pic took with the other guests didn't have that effect on me. I think the only other one I've been nervous about was meeting Juliet Landau.
When we got near the front of the queue I could see James through a lattice like partition they were doing the photos in the restaurant upstairs which was a lot better than how they did them on the Sun which was in the corridor outside the main hall.
James had on his yellow t-shirt and his hair was quite dark. He was sitting down for his pics which really surprised me because he's usually too hyper to sit but the word was that he'd injured his knee and needed to sit down. Wil had her pic took first, I always push her to the front
plus it means I have more time to ogle James LOL. Well on shaky legs I stepped up for my photo, he said " Hello " we shook hands I said " Hi how are you ", he said " I'm good, how are you " I said fine thank you " gripping stuff huh!
Well I was a lot more than fine when he put his arms round my shoulders and I put my hand on his back and his stomach. He was very warm and sweaty but not in a eww way he actually smelled very clean like he'd just scrubbed up with soap. Oh and his stomach was hard no flab there what so ever * swoon *. Photo was then taken so we shook hands again I thanked him and as his hand slipped out of mine I walked away and nearly forgot my ticket. LOL. I was away with the fairies by then
The next time I met him was at the autograph session which thankfully they'd moved into the main hall which meant we could sit down while we waited, but even better than that meant we could again sit and gaze at James while he signed the 250 autographs that was before us. At one point there was nearly a riot when one of the stewards said fans couldn't give James his presents they'd brought him. I for one said " What I don't think so " and I know Ladyhawke said something along the same lines. As you probably know Wil painted him a picture of a guitar which we made into a card and wrote him a poem on the other side with a good luck message. I don't think it's fair if people want to show him their appreciation with gifts and your not allowed to give them in person. Anyway the steward did a quick backtrack and said that " James said it's ok to give him the gifts.
Wil went first (again) she gave him his card and told him about the poem. I turned the card over to show him and the guitar plecs one for each of the band. He took time to look it over then she gave him a Millenium cross made from clay that she brought for him. She had put it in her jeans pocket and nearly forgot to give it him. LOL. He said " Wow that's beautiful " and passed them to his helper that was putting them in boxes for him. Before that though I forgot, James was talking to someone in front of us about GotR touring next year and he said they were undecided whether to go to Japan or come back to the UK. Me and my big mouth couldn't resist and said you don't want to go to Japan
he looked at me and I could have hid under the table at that point, embarrassed or what. He then said " That's the problem you guys in England just ROCK!! "
Anyway when it was my turn for the autograph I gave him the Spike and Dru book that I had Juliet sign at EoD. I would have liked a signed photo but we were only allowed one signed item each so I opted for the book instead. I'm not complaining though James signed 1456 autographs over 2 days and that takes some doing.
As he signed my book I asked him how the tour was going and he replied " It's bliss for us, but it's hard you know " I said " yeah, it must be very exhausting " he finished signing then and passed me the book back. I then gave him the Beanie bear it was a green August birthday bear for his birthday he took it and said thank you but I don't think he was very impressed LOL. So I then gave him his main present that was a set of 10 paperbacks the Military War Collection. His eyes sparkled a bit this time as he took the books from me trying to figure out what it was. I then turned them around for him so he could see the titles and he said " You know me too well " and I'm thinking oh I wish.
He was then turning them around and upside down studying what they were and he said " They're books right " I said " Yes it's a set of 10 paperbacks " and he just smiled and said " Thank you ". We shook hands again, he has lovely hands and very nice nails wonder if he has a manicure.
Well that was it. I'm sorry if I've rambled on too long I just seem to get carried away. The way I've described it seems our meetings were ages but really they were only a few minutes.
Just remembered another time we did see James was when we were outside the main hall waiting for Tom Lenks and Bailey Chase' autograph. As you've probably already seen it was a marathon autograph session for James and the other guests on the Sunday afternoon. Numbers 400 to 1456 were waiting to have an autograph. We missed Toms the day before so we waited patiently for 5 - 6 hrs with Emz and Becks. Of course during all this time toilet breaks had to happen so we saw James walk past us minder in tow on his way to the mens room. What was funny though was a Spike look alike chasing after James into the toilet. We all moaned saying poor James can't even go to the loo in peace (secretly wishing we could have changed sex at that point ;D). When James comes back talking to the Spike alike and showing him how to put the Spike swagger in his walk * sigh * very sexy.
So that's it my Harvest encounter hope it's not too boring. I've just got to mention a few peeps before I go and believe me if you ever get a chance to meet these peeps they are the most wonderful people you are ever likely to meet.

Oh I forgot one more thing I was really impressed with the photo when I got it back because to put it as polite as I can pictures of me usually turn out crap.
This one was actually nice though so when I got home Paul took it for me and had it enlarged and framed. It's now got pride of place on my living room wall.
I took the framed copy to work to show my friends and when I was down the dining room showing Jill a new girl came up looked at the pic and said " Have you been together long"
After I'd finished choking LOL. I said "Oh god yes every night for the past 5 yrs.......in my dreams anyway!!.
I also had a pic of Wil and the Troika enlarged which is also on the wall.
They are good conversation starters when peeps come to visit and say who are those strange men LMAO. ;D
