And just because I stuck the thread in Let Your Freak Flag Fly, you don't have to come up with sc-fi/horror characters. It's just, knowing us, I'm expecting the majority to be from genre shows. But prove me wrong! If 25 is too many, just list as many as you care about And why post this? Well, some guy came up with his own list, and Joss responded on Whedonesque with his own. ;D

Mine, in no particular order: Spike - quelle surprise! Angelus - I like his patience. He'll take his time to drive you mad and torture you, no wham bam thank you ma'am with him ;D Kerr Avon (Blake's 7) - mad, bad and dangerous to know Servalan (Blake's 7) - glamorous evil ;D Data (ST: TNG) - he's fully functioning, you know, programmed in multiple techniques Illya Kuryakin (TMFU) - much prettier and shinier and altogether more interesting than Napoleon Solo, so there! Logan (Dark Angel) - clever and vulnerable and subversive and lovelorn, aw Max (Dark Angel) - much more of a strong woman lead character than Buffy ever was, if you ask me. John Jarndyce (Bleak House) - I loves him, I do. All quiet and good and noble. Thank you BBC for dramatising the book and letting me add him (and others) to the list. Mr George (Bleak House) - rough diamond Lady Dedlock (Bleak House) - pained, restrained beauty Dr Who (Tom Baker, Eccles, David) - mad, dark, light, lonely Arthur (Arthur of the Britons) - I have a King Arthur kink, especially set in the right Dark Age context. Hurley (Lost) - who needs the pretty boys?! He's far more complex. I mean, is he barking a la Buffy in Normal Again and the whole damn thing a figment of a his tortured imagination? No, don't tell me USers! Gaius Baltar (Battlestar Galactica) - no-one rolls his eyes in madness better than Gaius! Wildly crazy and clever and over the top! Kryton (Red Dwarf) - what can I say, I like robots! Smeeeeegheeeeed ;D Bree (Desperate Housewives) - she's another barking one. I see a theme developing... Lex Luthor (Smallville) - he's a very naughty boy. And sexy as hell ;D David Vincent (The Invaders) - like Illya, he wore fab 60s shiny suits. And battled on his own against those naughty aliens with sticky-out fingers. Plus, he was an architect. I love me 50s/60s paranoia films and shows, getting all worked up about communism in the guise of ETs! Homer Simpson - Everyman Cigarette Smoking Man (X Files) - hated him. That's a good thing Captain Black (Captain Scarlet) - he too smoked; sign of a baddy ;D And had stubble. And damnit, it wasn't his fault that he was taken over by the Mysterons! As a kid watching it I was all about Captain Blue, but then I grew up. Bad boys in black ROOL! ;D Columbo - he's clever, he's disarming, he's shabby. I could watch him all day Arthur Dent (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) - another Everman. And it takes balls to wander round the universe in your jimjams Tubbs (The League of Gentlemen) - she's mad, she's bad, and she's definitely dangerous to know! But not remotely like Kerr Avon ;D

Jing's this isn't as easy as I first thought , so here is what I've come up with so far, and as PK says 'in no particular order' Spike - 'nuff said ;D Fred/Illryia - Great character played brialliantly Fox Mulder - *drool, swoon*....seriously great character "I believe" Dylan Mackay (90210) - Serious crush time ;D Sonny Crockett (Miama Vice) - Best cop of the 80's and cool with it...lol Hercule Poirot (Poirot) - I love the series and Sutchet is brilliant in the role, he just draws my attention continually. Jack Malone (WAT) - Hard yet gentle, tough but sincere, a good get-the-job-done character. (I bet you all thought I'd say Eric Close.....he's damn good eye-candy ) Wes (AtS3,4&5) - I really liked the way he and his character developed in Angel, so sue me DeForest Kelly (Star Trek) - I don't really know why, he always made me smile and I loved the way 'Bones' used to argue with 'Spock', if I think of ST he always comes to mind first.... Richard Sharpe (Sharpe) - Another rebel, but so intruiging to watch, and great stories to boot. Dr. Ross (ER) - Need I explain...... Hamish Macbeth (Macbeth) - Laid back, pot smoking Scottish country copper, brilliant. The Beast (Beauty & The Beast, the series) - Similar attributes to Spike, obviously looked like a monster but had a heart and soul and fought for what was right. Pacey (Dawsons Creek) - A kinda bad-boy who knew exactly what he wanted and went all out to get it, however not always in the right way. ;D

Damn, I forgot Pacey and I do love him so He was a very complex young man, and cute When it came to X Files I was torn between Mulder, Scully and Skinner, so went or Ciggie Man to be different ;D And I do love Jack Malone too, but wonder if in 10 years I'll remember that. Never liked Bones, I'm afraid. He was one of my least fave Star Trek characters in any of the series This is fun ;D I may have to come up with a B list as well ;D

C5 very occasionally and randomly shows the odd episode, and I think it does stand up. I got all excited the other week because I saw it in the listings, but it was a late one with that geezer Roger somebody that they got in to try to replace Pete. Bad idea. I couldn't watch.

After reading Joss' post about this, I will try to give this some serious thought. Of course we all adore MOST characters in the Whedonverse (*cough*rileyshouldhaveneverexisted*cough*), and I adore a ton ton ton of characters on television, but I will try to make a list of ones that come to mind at the moment. (in no particular order...) 1) Spike. We all, of course, are starting our lists with this one, aren't we? I think we all know why this character is so brilliant and why we all fell in love with his ways, so I don't feel the need to elaborate. 2) Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls. This character was written in a way I don't even know how to describe. As Whedon fans we all respect well-written characters and Lorelai was one of the best! The way she spoke and her extremely obscure references always put the kind of intellect and humor this show wouldn't have survived without. I could listen to her ramble on for hours - and I have! 3) Johnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter on The Big Bang Theory. Seriously, the whole time we pull for Leonard no matter what he says or does and Johnny rocks this character out to the max. I love it. Sheldon rocks too, of course. 4) Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe on Friends. I agree with everything Joss said about Friends, it is one of the most well written shows in history and I never ever get tired of watching Friends episodes, and the scenes Lisa is in she steals. 5) Zach Galifianakis as Davis on Tru Calling. Zach is one of my favorite people to watch and this character was definitely his best, ever. I enjoyed Tru Calling for many reasons, of course watching it in the beginning just for Eliza. Now, the show writing wise was nothing brilliant but the character of Davis and how Zach portrayed him definitely was. His lines in that show are what resonate with me the most from all the characters and episodes from the entire series! 6) Majandra Delfino as Maria DeLuca on Roswell. I adored that show and no character on that short lived series was better than her. 7) Jewel Staite as Kaylee Frye on Firefly. Okay, I will admit, I'm a huge fan of the entire cast of characters on Firefly. All of them. ALL of them. But I have to give props to Kaylee and how she never stops entertaining me however many times I watch the series over again. Of course I adore Mal in every way possible, but come on, he wasn't able to give us the best line ever - she was. "Captain Tightpants". 8) Sean Hayes as Jack McFarland on Will & Grace. Seriously, he MADE the show. Okay, I again love the entire cast of characters, but Sean definitely rocked it out every single time in my mind. And, again, I could easily at the tip of a hat quote Jack's lines over everyone else's. Alright, I may continue this on another day, but for now I must scurry off to do some work.
