That's my big grrr with 3D, no good for us speccies There was something on the radio this week about some 3D games being developed where you don't need special glasses... Just seen a trailer for Matt Damon's new film (directed by Eastwood). Looks interesting.

Dunno if I already mentioned it , but whilst i was at my bro's before Crimbo , I got to see several films that he gets sent to judge as a memeber of Bafta...The Kings Speech was one ...I didn't fancy it at first cos I thought it would be boring , but it really is a fantastic film and totally deserving of all the award noms it has . I agree with Ditto that the only jarring bit was Guy Pierce as Edward VIII ...everyone else was cast to perfection . Also saw Black Swan ...sadly couldn't (and still can't) see what all the commendations about Natalie Portmans perfrmance is for , she's not bad , but co-star Mila Kunis is better , and as for her portrayal of a girl descending into madness ...Georgia Taylor did it better in Casualty ! Tamara Drew was another ... wasted an hour and a half pleasantly enough , Tamsin Grieg is good in it , and thats about all

We saw The Eagle and it turned out excellent and I enjoyed it muchly. I now fancy a holiday up by Hadrian's Wall, we've never been up that side/end.

I read The Eagle of the Ninth when I was a wee PK. Excellent movie fodder, although probably all that happened to them was they were a duff unit and were disbanded in cutbacks I got severe sunburn on a school trip to Hadrian's Wall one time. And I split from very ex when we were in the middle of hols near Vindolanda ;D

Vindolanda? I didn't realise it was a book and well known. Did you see Monty Don this week? He went to Italy and visited Hadrian's villa! Totally sumptuous. I thought Hadrian was just a hod carrier type bloke... not an emperor!

I think it's posh 3D. Fabulous effects. Film is funny/scary with lotsa tottie DT in guyliner and Colin looking gorgeous. There are a few jumpy bits...really surprised to see Toni Colette, she doesn't half get about. Y'all will enjoy it like we did I'm sure. DT swears a lot.

Saw The Hunger Games on a very large last night which is as good as being at the flicks anyways really. It was fabulous! Very tense but worth it. Bit of a damp squib ending so I'm presuming there's more films to come?
