Regretfully, I have decided to set up the board so that only logged in members can post and create threads. We worked just fine for a year being quite free and easy, set up with guests able to post, but I'm afraid I have neither the time nor the energy to go round sweeping up the messes this sometimes creates. The vast majority of guests don't fall into the nuisance category, of course! I love me some lurking; I do it myself on a number of boards. So the threads will still be open for anyone to view. But the increasing number of spammers, and troublemakers, has made modding more time-consuming and difficult of late. Hence this step. I know this will inconvenience one or two members sometimes, if they are having problems logging in (or are feeling lazy, lol!), but if you run into problems, check out the tips thread to see if the answer lies there. And failing that, email me! And just to stress, all are welcome here who play by the rules, and understand this is a James and Spike friendly board. If you share our interest in and admiration for James and related topics, come on in and join us!

Just thought i would reply to this post since i am a member of another forum, and a moderator, and i know JUST what you are talking about there boss, so i myself feel that if a person CAN"T take time to log in, then they shouldn"t post. Just my personal opinion on this subject. thanks, mike. (plus, you keep the board clean from any offensive posts that are left, because there are lot"s of youngsters looking too). mike.

it's nicer for us, too, PK (though sometimes I forget I haven't logged in and have a moment when I find I can't post... then realise I'm being a daft bint, so blond I couldn't even get my hair colour right - no disrespect to blonds, my big sis is blond and v.clever). But I don't like messes and spam, so I think it's a good thing. Specially if it makes PK's life that bit easier.
