Definitely flashbacks ;D Post NFA would be great, and as long as the movie IS Spikecentric , cameos from all the Bufy alumni would be cool

Oh you know I'd like some Spike/Angel ONSCREEN (not implied) action, but David would never agree to that, and I can't see male writers actually writing it in. Oh well, I'll have to settle for sueworld's yummy manips.

DB won't even agree to the movie so no point fantasising about that Cy (well, on second thoughts, fantasise away! It's fun!). I was replying to NN's post last night when the too many connections monster ate my post But basically I was going to say that I ended up not liking any of the remaining Buffy characters by the finale so in truth I would rather not see them at all; although they should probably be alluded to. I just know they'll try to shoehorn Andrew into it somehow (but please please, small does if they do). I think Connor shoul;d get to know Spike; and I reckon we should have some encounters with the Immortal, including flashbacks which could also bring in Dru ;D

Connor could boink Buffy and they spawn a rebellious slayer-vampire-superhero thingy... oh wait... nevermind... mmm Giles and Spike shagging with Illyria observing and Connor lusting after Illyria and Dawn wanting to fuck Connor, and Angel playing the dirty old vampire thinking about doing Dawn when what he really wants is Spike's ass but won't admit it to himself and Xander starts having naughty thoughts about Dead Boy and Willow decides she wants dick again and starts stalking Xander and Oz shows up and find out Willow is after cock again and becomes obsessed with her... okay I think I just need to go to bed and get some rest. "Is there anyone here who hasn't slept together?!"

Squad - with nice little Spike pic Angel, the last vestige of the empire spawned by a certain failed Kristy Swanson vehicle from a decade back, has been off the air for almost a year and a half, and fans have been clamoring for some kind of revisitation of the Buffyverse ever since. Well, clamor no more – Tim Minear has confirmed that he's been hired to write and direct a movie for the WB. Though few details are available at this point, the film will follow Spike, the bleached-blonde reformed bad-boy vamp who terrorised Buffy, then loved her, then died, then came back so he could show up on Angel after the vampire detective agency merged with evil law firm Wolfram and Hart (it's all very complicated). James Marsters will reprise the role of Spike, but there's no word on whether or not he'll get any visits from any "special friends". It seems unlikely that the WB will be able to corral the big guns, as Sarah Michelle Gellar refused to pop up on Angel in its final season, and David Boreanaz is visibly aging just a little too much to play an eternal stud. But I think Wesley is available ...Dude, Wesley died - don't pull that one again. It gets a bit tired. And DB is visibly aging? More than James, do they think? How lame. Not to mention rude.

Check out setje's LJ and I'm sure you'll find lots of recent DB pics. My first thought is *woohoo* and my next thought is *what about JM's hair*

Trust me, DB is far from going to seed. Seen him in that men's fitness mag? Holy cow, what a shape! And in Bones? Of course his face looks older than first year Buffy, but it's not like he's all wrinkly and whatnot (and he's much more attractive now, IMO). Tsk.
I'm sure James is prepared to bleach up again if he has to; it won't be happening tomorrow, so it won't interfere with his other work.

In an interview with Joss at Moviehole, a Spike movie is brought up. I'm leaving in bits about Buffy and Angel, and Wonder Woman (as that gives some feel for the timescale, if Joss is going to be reasonably involved in a prospective Spike project) “I miss some things about them ["Buffy" and "Angel"], but I don’t miss the grind”, he says. “With Buffy, I really felt like seven seasons were it – we were all feeling the wear and tear, and it wasn’t like the actors weren’t bringing it, it was just the time.
"Angel", he says, didn’t deserve to be axed when it did. Though going on five seasons, Whedon feels it still had some more oil in the engine – and could’ve gone for a while longer. Still, it’s another series that might have another life, hints Whedon.
“I mostly miss all the people [there], but if things go the way I hope they do – I might not miss them as much”, he says, raising an all-telling eyebrow.
It’s rumoured that Whedon’s looking to bring the character of Spike (played by James Marsters on Buffy and Angel) back for a telemovie, and he’s happy to validate that. “I’m talking in reference to that…..and possibly more”, he smiles. “I can only teasingly hint unfortunately until it’s got backing and we’ve got a schedule and a contract. I have been talking to some of the actors, writers, and some executives and are trying to put something together - - but it’s not happening fast. [But no] I haven’t left the Buffyverse behind”.
Meantime, Whedon is writing and directing a feature film version of "Wonder Woman", which might shoot in Australia. “We’re looking for Paradise Cove somewhere other than L.A”, he says. “Still, I have to write it first – and then they have to decide whether they like it enough to make it.”

Sounds promising, though it'd be better if he didn't have other projects like Wonder Woman on the boil!

SciFi WireWhedon: Expect Future Buffy
Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, told SCI FI Wire that he definitely plans to revisit the "Buffyverse" in a future, unspecified project. "I think it's realistic," Whedon said in an interview while promoting his upcoming SF movie, Serenity. "I like my chances. But it is absolutely still too amorphous for me to make any kind of announcement about it. I'm out there trying, and there's other people trying, to put it together. But until something falls in place, I really can't say."
Whedon is especially keen on doing a movie centering on the vampire character of Spike (James Marsters). "Let's say it's a good jumping off point," he said. As for Marsters' reported comments that he is growing too old to play the eternally youthful former bloodsucker, Whedon said: "Well, we're working. We're trying. I know. ... James is in very good shape. Keep working out, James." Um.... yeah! ;D

More fairly vague stuff from Joss, at CHUDQ: You’ve talked about the very real possibility of Spike movie, of revisiting that character and that universe. Is it the case that you have some stories you still want to tell there, or is it just that you have the opportunity to revisit it, so you’ll go back.
Whedon: It’s got to be both. Ultimately if I didn’t think there were stories to tell about Spike – and I’ve gone back and forth about what I think that story is – but if you feel like there’s nothing to tell, you don’t do it to just… That’s like kissing a corpse. You’re not going to dig it up just so everybody can see that it’s smelly now. If you can’t keep it fresh, don’t do it.
Q: The ending of Angel was maybe the best series finale I have ever seen. That last shot was so great, but you leave yourself in this weird position because if you go back you’re going to have to explain how they got out of there alive.
Whedon: I appreciate that because people were like, ‘Why did you do a cliffhanger?!?!’ It’s not a cliffhanger! It’s a statement!! It does leave things open, there’s a lot to talk about, which is always good. A sense of closure with a sense of openture is the way I do this stuff.
Q: But practically speaking, if there is a Spike movie, how will you deal with that ending? Will you explain it, or will you just jump ahead a couple of years and show that he somehow made it?
Whedon: I ain’t gonna say. <snip>
Q: This might be more fanwank, but in Fray you have that bit where you touch on what happened to all the magic and demons and that didn’t happen at the end of Buffy, which I sort of expected. Is that the kind of thing we should just forget about?
Whedon: No, that’s actually something I hope to deal with, either in the Spike format or in another series of Fray.

He's yanking our collective chain. Joss has another movie project in the offing, as detailed in this article from Variety, but there's a also this bit:

Yup, why waste his time, and everyone else's, on something that wouldn't challenge him and his character. Best to be clear about that before they get too far down any other road.

Totally agree, and while I'd love to see Illyria make an appearance , I wouldn't want to see them as a double act .
