The IDW link had lots of pages from the comic which gave its setting. Mind you, Hitler kinda gave the game away ;D
All the Spike comics have been retrospective, as there was the possibility of the movie, and also Joss doing some comics. Maybe they'll be free to use Spikey in a different way if all hopes for a movie have poofed.

Hitler (and if it isn't him it must be one of his doubles), golden eagle thingie, swastika just behind Spikey's head... Looking at some of the pages, at least we know Angel read him right. "Spike's not in the SS. He just likes wearing the jacket." ETA - the cover art has stirred up some controversy but we already know Spike's no Nazi, he just ate one. And he never makes any kind of in yer face arm/hand gesture without it being ironic or an insult. ;D Apparently the story is very good, so it would be a pity if people shied away from it because of a cover drawing. If you fancy being spoiled for the comic, there's an informative thread at IDW

Had a nice surprise today - my trade paperback of "Spike" arrived. It's a collection of three of the earlier comics - Old Times (which I already have of course, but no matter), Old Wounds, and Lost & Found. I have no issue with Fernando Goni's photographic art, as at least you can recognise everyone! Haven't read the latter two yet, but had a quick flick through and they are looking good. Spike and Angel, sparring but working together, and even riding off into the sunset together, aw

More about Auld Lang Syne: Angel: Auld Lang Syne #1
An all-new miniseries from the writer of Spike: Lost and Found and the artist of Angel: Old Friends! Angel's back on the job in Los Angeles, tracking a mysterious cult and working to solve a kidnapping. The only trouble is, a few old familiar faces keep showing up- faces he shouldn't really be seeing! And what does Spike have to do with it? Written by Scott Tipton (Spike: Lost & Found) and illustrated by David Messina (Angel Spotlight: Doyle). Stephen Mooney (CSI: Dying in the Gutters) provides a variant cover, too.
Coming in November.

I've been enjoying my compilation book of the Spike v Dracula series, but when I have time I'm gonna scan a couple of pages for you to compare and contrast. The artwork seems really patchy to me; maybe more noticable when all 5 stories are in one volume. Anyway, I hope Spike: Asylum is gathered together in the same way. I'm loving the good things I've heard about it. And talking of good things, nice advance review of Auld Lang Syne. Be still my Spangel heart ;D
