You know how I said I had ordered two copies? Well, they sent me two different covers ;D One is the pub shot of James as Spike that Forbidden Planet used on their online ordering thing, which is lovely but strikes me as a bit odd for a comic cover. And the other is the excellent drawing I posted earlier in the thread.
We knew from the pages already seen that the artwork was going to be good, but it really is, in terms of capturing the likenesses of the characters we know. Spike especially - although he does have a chubbier than normal face is some frames, lol - and Cecily/Halfrek.

You better get in quick while places like Forbidden Planet have stock. It's sold out already at the publishers, apparently ;D Odds are they'd do a reprint though; they have for the Angel comic series. I was going to offer up my spare on a first come, first served basis, but that's before I knew about the two covers thing! Now they are more collectable! Teebs, yup, that's the one I meant; and I also have the one with this pic: Although the skin tones on the comic version are a little different.

When I saw the promo photo version at FP I thought they were using that pic just because they hadn't had the "real" cover sent to them for advertising. Never imagined it would be real too, lol.
I love the way they have Spike being casually knowledgeable, like he often was in the shows (even if some people insisted he was stupid; we knew differently, pah!) - quoting Voltaire is classic ;D

"SPIKE: OLD TIMES" SELLS OUT Just thought I'd mention that, according to Chris Ryall, "Spike: Old Times" has sold out both from Diamond and the publisher (their initial order plus everything they'd overprinted for reorders.)
The guys at Fourth World Comics in Smithtown, NY, where I buy my books (best comic shop in Long Island, folks) have likewise sold out. The canny retailers put copies of the book in the pull file of everyone who had ordered the "Angel" comic as an FYI, and every single person bought it without hesitation.
So that's nice.
I've no idea if there's plans to go back to press.
