Well it says something about coming with a cross with a knife in it, so that was when Evil!Spike was trying to restore Dru... and had on the black gloves in order to hold the cross... but I agree... he only wore them once... lose the gloves... and while we're at it, just lose all the clothes! Spike at his best... ;D

Tsk, you know talk like that upsets James! Did you notice much of a scar, btw? I peered and peered - they always accentuate James' scar to make him Spikier (although as a vamp, his wound should have healed and *poofed* shouldn't it?!) but I couldn't really make it out on the figure. The vampSpike figure I have comes with a cross, and it has a big ol' swathe of white cloth around it... but he stil can't hold it, bless him! He can't hold any of his weapons either, poor dear!

Tsk, you know talk like that upsets James! Sorry James. I kneel before you... just worshiping! Oh I better go to bed! ;D I didn't notice a scar either, which I also thought was odd... You have a Spike figure?

Yeah, vamped out Spike in a cemetery, with a stack of weapons that just have to lie at his feet because of his finger problems! ;D He lives on the windowsill on Spike's Landing (ie at the top of the stairs), where he is kept company by Cardboard Spike, Wallclock Spike and Signed Plaque Spike ;D

I remember reading an interview with James where he said he had a spike action figure and that the only thing that bugged him about it was that he couldn't get it to hold anything, however hard he tried. Plus the fact that he could barely get the legs to move (oh-er!).
My one spends most of the time on it's back (just like the real thing I suppose!) or plummeting off the shelf onto the floor as I can never get the damn thing to stand up properly!
Oh can't wait to get this little baby though, and once I've got the Angel figure as well, Spangel heaven here I come (oh-er missis!)

Sorry, I wandered off! It's the Bloody Awful Poet Society But hey, aren't you on the Yahoo group for it Sue?! I thought I'd seen you there, but we do run into each other all over the place so could be wrong! Direct link the Action Figure Theatre, and heed the advice they give at the top of the page ;D bloodyawfulpoet.com/actionspike.html

Oh my....that is an extraordinary likeness...the lips...ahhh...and his nose even hooks a bit to the left... and seems to be the trace of a mole lower left jaw...maybe the gloves are removable? And I can see the scar.

And I can see the scar. Can you? I thought that it looked like they'd left it off! Also I notice that they've painted his eyes brown? As far as the gloves go it looks to me like they're part of the sculpt and so not removable, which if turns out to be the case will be really irritating! As with most toy releases I think this is just a photo of the prototype, and that hopefully things like eye colour will be corrected by then.

Just a quick reply before I bugger off to work! Apparently a rep' from Sideshow said on another board I frequent (one dedicated to Buffy action figures woulsd you believe!) that the Buffy, Angel and Spike heads are scans, in otherwords not totally original sculpts but the real actors heads laser scanned in, and then (I believe) there's a machine which carves out a three dimentional copy in wax from that information. Then finally a sculptor adds the fine detail, hair eye details etc that the machine cannot handle.
This is why they look so darn good, they are perfect little copies of the actor in question. Apparently though they are not going to do this with the Faith doll. For that they are going to do a completely new sculpt. I'll be interested on seeing how that one turns out.

Ah, that explains it! When I went to lok at the other two I was staggered to see how amazingly "real" they looked... but poor Faith?! She may end up not being of the same quality/standard!
