Poor you Lily...I haven't been to my dentist since he went private 18 months ago Good luck finding an NHS dentist darlin...in the meantime oil of cloves is good for soothing toothache, and if its very painful , chewing a soluble aspirin works quite quickly if you can bear to do it

Lily, use a non-alcohol-based mouthwash, as well, that might help - especially if it's an infection. But get it checked out by your dentist anyway. Poorly teeth are miserable, aren't they?

Feeling a good bit better today, the mega antibugs have kicked in, temp is down , I've halved the dose of painkillers....and I'm being good with the drinking ! Fortunately I have the constitution of an elephant and my GP knows to give me Augmentin straight away for an infection instead of pussyfooting about with Amoxycillin which doesn't work on me anymore .

Happy to hear you're feeling a bit better NN Jing's does Amoxycillin work for anybody these days I always found it pretty useless too.

Still works fine for me! but I hardly ever need antibiotics, so that's probably why...

Doctors still use it over here. My girls have used it a few times. The doctors try not to give everyone antibiotics too often, but sometimes there are those parents who insist on having antibiotics regardless of what their kid's got. We have a few cases of TB here. I'm afraid it's making a comeback. It really scares me because my mum's mother and one of her uncles died from it. My mum and her brother and sister had to be tested quite frequently when they were young.

We were all inoculated against it at school - but the silly buggers gave us all too much, apparently, so dunno if we're actually okay or not . Typical.

Well, this is a step in the right direction, but I rate my own chances of getting it as less than zero, given that my consultant shrugs and tells me to take a paracetemol when I try to explain my pain and stiffness problems. Cannabis drug available in the UK

Seeing as they have taken the fun out of it - spraying can't be as satisfying as smoking ;D - you'd think they would be so pleased with themselves they'd make it widely available ;D Honestly, if someone doesn't take me seriously soon I'll be forced to stage a nervous breakdown in the GP's surgery

See the way this 'regional lottery' of NHS work's or doesn't beggars belief, and as for some G.P's well........no need for me to go there really as PK will know The great cure-all....NOT, jing's they do absolutely nothing for me, so why the hell they tell you to take them PK is beyond me.....

They barely shift a headache. Which is why I have the pink hossies instead, courtesy of D, but they just take the edge off. It's not as if I like taking pills, only do it as a last resort. The medicos should know that by now

Sorry for it working out that I double post Rather than bore you all in prattle about D I thought I'd post in here. The rash/spots are an unknown quantity to the doc they aren't due to his meds or an alergy so that's that......his x-ray was fine, but apparently his bloods showed up something with his Liver , don't know what though and he isn't a drinker, it must be 20+ years since he last had a drink.....I say that 'cause the doc asked him. Well he's been signed off work for another fortnight and we're still waiting to hear from the hospital.

Prolonged use of certain meds can affect liver function so they may have just been testing that out. Hopefully D will benefit from the futher fortnight's rest.

The rash/spots D has could be due to a bacterial infection and this could have affected his liver . Some astma meds and anti inflammatory drugs can also affect liver function, but the thing to remember is that the liver can heal and even regenerate itself unless its very badly damaged by alcohol abuse , so try not to worry Teebs, and I hope you hear from the hospital soon and they can get to the bottom of Ds problems, because quite frankly, your GP doesn't seem to be able to
