Linda Judd says: There will be a special Ghost of the Robot gig in honor of Aaron's Farewell Performance to be held at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento, California on Saturday, January 3, 2004.
The tickets will be $12.50 but are not yet available for purchase.
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE CREST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION!! (It will be posted here as soon as it is available)
Yes, it is very short notice and many of you have already made arrangements for the Key Club gig on 1.31.04, but it took some time to get this event coordinated.
Remember, it's Aaron's LAST PERFORMANCE for at least 2 years, so let's try to fill the house to give him a proper send-off and to show how much we are going to miss him. The band is financing this show on their own, so even if you are unable to make the performance, buy a ticket to show your support if possible. Hmmm. Well, the band have played there before, and very successfully... so why couldn't they get a regular booking, huh? I don't see why people should in effect "donate" ticket money. Bizarre. Anyway, tickets are available here - purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=TDC&pid=5265989although Linda has given some riders to the price: The page shows $12.00, however the correct price is $12.50 which shows on the 2nd page of the order form. Also, there is a Convenience Fee of $4 and a Order Processing Fee of $3.50 which brings your total to $20 if you order online.
I am interested to see - and hear! - who replaces Aaron. He's the best there is! PS - the announcement on GOTR's official site isn't a begging letter, thankfully ;D Farewell Concert To Aaron GOTR is putting on a final farewell concert for their drummer, Aaron Anderson, who is taking a leave of absence to go on a mission. The concert will be january 3, 2004 in Sacramento California at the Crest Theatre. It will be an all ages concert. Advance tickets will be $12.50 and can be purchased at www.tickets.com or by calling the Crest Box Office at 916-442-7378. The doors will open at 7 pm and the first opening band will go on at 8 pm. This should be a very exciting and emotional night for everyone who wants to wish Aaron well before he leaves.

Hello fellow International Board members:
The International Board has long been a place for fans of Ghost of the Robot to gather and discuss the band and their music, as well as community planning for gigs and tours. It has also been a place for those discovering an interest in the band, and newcomers to the band's fandom, to learn about the band members, their music, and their talent.
Over time, we've gone from being strangers to being a community. While we might not have always seen eye-to-eye about everything, there has always been a sense that our Board members belonged.
Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that the International Board is going on hiatus for a few months. Unfortunately, Board traffic and costs have skyrocketed, and we can no longer afford to keep the Board running. We are searching for a new and less expensive hosting solution, and once this is accomplished, the Board will return. We're hoping to be back a few months prior to the new tour.
Meanwhile, please join our Yahoo Group at:
groups.yahoo.com/group/gotr_international/
We'll post gig announcements and tour information there, and you can keep in touch with each other and talk about the band.
Once the Board is shut down, a status page will be posted at the GotR-Forums. net address, to keep you informed about when it is expected to return. Please check it often for updates.
Please save any posts and PMs you may want to keep, to your own computer. The Board will officially shut down on December 31, 2003, and after this date, none of the existing posts or PMs will be available.
Thank you all for being International Board members. I look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

It's already been mentioned elsewhere on the board, but here's a reminder - GOTR will be playing on the saturday night of both Moonlight Rising con in June and Oakland Vulkon con in August. Tickets will be sold seperately for the first, I believe.
Check out the James Info thread, or Musical James at the main site for more info.

As an update to that, Vulkon are thinking of selling extra tickets to the GOTR gig on the door, for those not attending the Con. Otherwise your gig ticket is part of the deal. So non Con goers in and around Oakland on 25th August will have the chance to go. Suggested price right now is $30.

Aw, sweet Aaron.... nice interview with him and cute pic at robotsites.co.uk/english/bio.aaron2.shtmlFINAL DRUM ROLL The beat will go on for Ghost Of The Robot's talented drummer even though he is taking a break from his rock cronies.
Californian Aaron Anderson will be playing his last concert with the five-strong outfit on January 3 in Sacramento. He then heads off to Mexico where he will be spending the next two years working in Tijuana as part of a church mission.
He says it will be tough not playing live with the band for some time, but has no doubt he will be returning to the music scene in the future.
His passionate, high-energy drumming will also be heard on the band's forthcoming new album and he has been busy in the recording studio prior to his departure.
Aaron, whose talents also extend to songwriting, has become a firm favourite with the band's fans and he was showered with gifts when he toured Europe. He headed home to the States with everything from a tartan kilt to a soft toy version of Muppet drummer Animal.
Based in Sacramento, Aaron regularly drove to Los Angeles for the band's sell-out concerts and says it was worth the several hours trek and high mileage "just to play."
"It works out," he smiles. "It's not too bad. Joining Ghost Of The Robot was surprising and exciting. Charlie needed a drummer quickly and we've been friends for years so I came along to rehearsals."
It has led to Aaron drumming on the band's debut album, Mad Brilliant, and singles David Letterman and Valerie and giving the group a distinctive and powerful rhythm section that leads to melodic rock tunes put over with a viciously passionate performance.
Watching Aaron on the drums is almost like attending a masterclass in pure, passionate rock and roll and he is never satisfied with anything less than perfection.
"How would I describe the band's music ...... space rock," he jokes. "I have no idea, but people seem to like it. We're a real band, who play real music and we just keep getting better and better.
"I've always had this drive to play music, but I never really thought I would be doing it on stage. I worked with Charlie as part of a trio called Power Animal first and then Ghost Of The Robot came along and we started writing songs for the band. That's how it all started."
Aaron's final concert is likely to prove an emotional affair, but he says the two years is likely to pass quickly. "After that, we have to see what happens," he says. "if they still want me in the band then I'll be around."

GOTR in Europe newsletter - for the latest Ghost Of The Robot news.
WORLD EXCLUSIVE GHOST OF THE ROBOT AUCTION
Want to feel like a rock star and own one of Ghost Of The Robot's own backstage passes? Now is your chance to pick up one of the rarest band souvenirs around.
James Marsters, Steven Sellers, Charlie DeMars, Kevin McPherson and Aaron Anderson have specially signed the stylish backstage passes which were exclusively designed for the 2003 European tour and audience events.
The nine-date trip was the band's first European tour and they sold out every date from Frankfurt to Liverpool's famous Cavern Club. The band proudly wore the backstage passes in Germany, London, Scotland and Wales.
Enthusiastic fans sometimes tried to grab the passes from around the band's necks and spare copies had to be made. These have now been donated by the band to promote their return to Europe in May.
No more passes are in existence and this will be the only chance to own one of the most sought after Ghost Of The Robot items around.
Each of the five passes have been signed in silver marker pen by all five members of Ghost Of The Robot and they have been placed on new yellow lanyards. They feature a photograph of the band, the band logo and the "Access All Areas" legend. They are laminated - the band have signed directly on the passes, not the plastic covers - and in pristine condition.
The highly-collectible backstage passes are going on sale on e-Bay on Thursday 22 January 2004. This will be a one-off auction and any proceeds will go towards the band's forthcoming European trip.
To see images of the passes and further details please go to the news section of www.ghostoftherobot.co.uk _______________________

Ghost Of The Robot are currently hard at work in California on the follow-up to their best-selling debut album, Mad Brilliant.
The new album will be called Gods Of The Radio and features several tracks written by the band. Lead singer James Marsters has penned some of the songs, guitarist and keyboard player Steven Sellers has also contributed to the album and lead guitarist Charlie DeMars and former drummer Aaron Anderson have also written several songs.
Tracks expected to feature on the album include the single New Man, concert favourite Katie, It's Nothing and This Town.
No date has yet been confirmed for the release of the album, but Steven Sellers says: "I'm working on it 24 hours a day at the moment and it's going to be awesome."

;D Woo hoo, it arrived today....'New Man' is awesome! 'Country Live-in'..not really my cup of tea, and 'The End' seems to be one of those Charlie songs that James struggles with at times, but I need to listen to it again...and again to get a better feel for them.

I also have the new single. I like New Man and I agree with you, Nightnurse -- Country Live-In is not my cup of tea, either. I believe the singer on The End is Charlie (I could be wrong). He performed this song himself like he did for Sounds Like A Personal Problem. He is always so-so on his vocals but seems to bring a feeling to the songs that never fails to get under my skin and affect me somehow. I like it. soulmate

But for the first album they put up sound bites for a few tracks, at the official site, by way of advertising. They'd be foolish not to, but they may not be ready to do it yet.
