You couldn't make it up, could you?! ;D My two fandom lurves, all in one place (and if you press me to answer which takes precedence, you might wonder why I'm running this board).
So, now we know. James is to be a guest star in a S2 ep of Torchwood. His ep is filming in late July, and of course won't be screend until 2008.
Let the fantasies speculation commence!

James Marsters on 'Torchwood' By Melissa Wilson James Marsters will be saddling up with the "X-Files meets Peyton Place" fun BBC At Night series Torchwood. According to James Marsters Live, Marsters will be a guest star on the popular show in an episode to air early next year. Marsters of course is best-known as Buffy's nemesis-turned-beau Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, later a (temporary) ghost on Angel. Marsters also spent some time on Smallville as villain Milton Fine / Brainiac.
For the fans on this side of the pond who haven't heard, Torchwood is a bizarre spinoff of Doctor Who, following the adventures of Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) and his merry band of MIBs. The show is much more adult than Doctor Who (a children's show --- really!) and hasn't yet made its way to the States. Considering the massive amounts of sex and violence, it probably won't. FirefoxI must have been watching a different show. Massive amounts?! There's more violence in one ep of CSI than in TW, IMO And aside from the sex gas stuff, we only ever saw Owen and Diane actually getting it on. Oh, and she's wrong. TW hits the US in the autumn

James Marsters Makes Way To 'Torchwood' Former ‘Buffy’ actor currently filming in Cardiff
By ROBIN BROWNFIELD Source: SyFy Portal Jun-18-2007
James Marsters, who fans best know as Spike, the lovesick punk vampire with stock in peroxide on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," is currently in Cardiff filming for the second season of the "Doctor Who" spinoff "Torchwood." According to his official Web site, Marsters will be a guest star alongside John Barrowman in the BBC Two series, which is set to start its second season later this year.
When last seen on television, Marsters was cast as Professor Milton Fine, better known as Brainiac, on The CW's "Smallville." He will soon star opposite Hillary Swank and Gerard Butler in the romantic comedy "P.S., I Love You," which will be in American movie theaters this December. He also has done voice work as Lex Luthor for the straight-to-DVD animated movie "Superman: Doomsday," due for release in September.
"Torchwood," an anagram of "Doctor Who," was created by Russell T. Davies, who also is the mastermind behind the current "Doctor Who" series. Torchwood is a secret task force that deals with extra-terrestrial and supernatural occurrences. John Barrowman plays enigmatic omnisexual time agent Capt. Jack Harkness, who leads the Cardiff-based team.
The episode is slated be broadcast in the United Kingdom in early 2008.
Biewers in the United States, however, are still waiting for the first season of "Torchwood" to premiere on BBC America later this fall.

They had two separate lip locks (different eps) and stopwatch flirtage (yet another ep) ;D I'm begging whoever is writing James's ep to have him and Gareth in scenes together, even though there is every likelihood I will combust at the sight! And the two of them could geek out over Macbeth between takes...

Spike from 'Buffy' heads to 'Torchwood' Tuesday, June 19 2007, 12:07 BST
By Tony Delgado
Former Buffy star James Marsters will reportedly be guest starring in the second season of Torchwood.
According to the website James Marsters Live, the 44-year-old actor, famed for his role as swaggering British vampire Spike on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, will be filming his appearance in Cardiff next month.
Torchwood’s parent show Doctor Who also featured one of the leads from the Sunnydale based cult show in its second series, with Anthony Head starring in ‘School Reuinon’ last year. The creative force behind the revived Doctor Who - Russell T Davies – has often cited Buffy as a key inspiration for his show.

Hee, Mareen Ryan in her Chicgo Tribune blog says: SyFyPortal reports that James Marsters, better known as Spike on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” will be appearing in the second season of “Torchwood,” the “Doctor Who” spinoff. That sound was my fangirl brain exploding.

SyfyPortal has picked up on what James said at Fangoria about his role. Last weekend, James Marsters talked briefly, though somewhat cryptically, about his guest spot in the upcoming second season of "Torchwood" at the Fangoria convention in New Jersey. The actor best known to genre fans as Spike in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," said he did a preliminary screening of the episode he shot in Cardiff, Wales, but since then the writers have rewritten the script which means he's heading back across the pond to finish filming his episode.
What should fans expect of Marsters, as he takes on the adult spinoff of "Doctor Who"?
His role is "going to offend some, titillate others - to the point where they would need to finish themselves off afterwards." He also said that Brits are more liberal in their approach to sex and sexuality than Americans, but wouldn't spill the beans on what exactly we'll happen during his stay. However, there were implications that something "omnisexual" was going to happen in the episode.
"Torchwood," an anagram of "Doctor Who," is a secret task force that deals with alien encounters. John Barrowman plays ageless omnisexual time agent Captain Jack Harkness, who leads the Cardiff-based team. The series was created by Russell T Davies, who is responsible for reviving the series "Doctor Who."
"Torchwood" Season 1 will air on BBC America beginning Sept. 9.

James was spotted at location shooting yesterday There is also a trailer door bearing the character name John Hart, about which there had been JM spec; but now the man has been sighted by location stalkers hunting fans, you could very well put two and two together... I'm rather taken with the outfit Gareth... er, Ianto, was seen to be wearing yesterday too, so all in all a good TW spotting day by the fans ;D

Maureen from the Chicago Tribune is exploding again ;D Spike from 'Buffy' and 'Torchwood's Captain Jack Harkness - Yowza! News emerged a few weeks ago that James Marsters, best known as Spike on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," would be a guest star during the second season of "Torchwood," the "Doctor Who" spinoff starring John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness.
I wrote then that my fangirl brain might just explode. The guy who played Spike from "Buffy" and one of my favorite new sci-fi characters -- a swashbuckling, time-traveling, bisexual space hero -- in the same episode? It sounded too good to be true.
But wait, there's more. On Friday, I interviewed Barrowman, who grew up in Aurora and Joliet, about "Torchwood," the first season of which debuts on BBC America Sept. 8.
Here’s what he had to say about Marsters’ second-season guest spot: “There’s a scene between he and Jack when they first meet, all I’ll say is, this scene is so hot, so horny, so violent, that all the fans who watch it are going to [er, appreciate it greatly].”
I can’t put on this site what Barrowman actually said, but trust me, it made the scene sound intensely steamy.
I can’t afford for my head to explode, since there are another 12 days to the TCA press tour here in L.A., and the use of my head would be handy. But still, yowza! All I can say is, the second season of “Torchwood” can’t arrive on BBC America fast enough. Lots more from the interview here - well worth the readHot, horny and violent, squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! ;D

James is going to be in the first episode of the new season ;D BBC Press ReleaseSo no time for any fond reunions, by the looks of it (Apart from the possibility of Jack and James' character having some prior history, but that's not what I meant . But naughty psychopath sounds delightful ;D I'll post the rest of the PR in the Torchwood thread.
