Although it all looks so amateurish, little snippets keep appearing re Starfighters - check this outAnd to complicate matters, someone has been updating JM's IMDb profile (but as I understand it, any member can do that), so that credits now include Revelations.... which describes this Starfighters stuff But as a series filmed in 2002?! We've had producers using James' name to help create a buzz about their projects before (there was a movie last year, whose name I have forgotten now), which does show some people in the industry understand his pulling power. But this is one is such a jumble

;D ;D now we all know Himberman doesn't announce anything till it's signed, sealed and delivered so thats why James doesn't want to announce any cons till he knows if this project is a go or a no show eh

You've gotta love the way this is phrased. Makes it sound like they have dropped James... not that he was never involved in the first place And releasing him from the website *snort* Run free, little Jamesy, run free ;D Anyway, they have taken his details down from the website, as well they might after this kerfuffle. <snip> We have done some "spring cleaning" in our Marketing Departments and are pleased to announce a top notch business plan. Regretfully, with the separation of some former partners, also comes the decision to release the actor James Marsters from our website. Despite all his well loved characters namely "Spike" from BUFFY-The Vampire Slayer, it was in the best interest of Three River Filmworks and T-n-T Productions-Projects to release him from the original cast list for the "STARFIGHTER" pilot.
On behalf of everyone in production, we wish Mr. Marsters many successes in 2006!
Sincerely, Jeri L. Fredricks, President Northwest Entertainment Starfighter: PI forum

Oh no, and now there is dispute between the people involved in the project. Controversy, thy name is Marsters ;D As we said before - we would respond back once a decision was made about the James Marsters controversy.
The Producers/Writers/Co-Creators at Starfighters-pi.com have taken this issue to the highest level to find the "truth" and bring it back to you.
They spoke with James' agent Steve Himber today and a few things were revealed that was not the fault of the Starfighters production staff.
It seems that Mr. Himber was contacted back in September by the Starfighters Production Staff and remembers them asking about James Marsters and his interest in being a part of a project being put together by Latino Fire Productions. When asked - he did say "...I support anything my client is interested in!" And that was it - there was no confirmation of a "Letter Of Intent" from James Marsters - given to Latino Fire Productions for this project.
For months - the Production Staff of Starfighters have tried to get the "real" LOI from Latino Fire Productions but was never able to do so. Suspicion arose and the Production Staff of Starfighters started to ask questions and seek out more information - especially after a wonderful and inquisitive "registered user" of these forums brought the subject into the light even more.
After a long conversation with Mr. Steve Himber - James Marsters agent - it was determined that Latino Fire Productions was negligent in their duty as Executive Producers and falsified the facts to lead the Starfighters Production Staff to believe that they had obtained permission to put James Marsters pic on the website and had obtained the LOI for the project. A copy of the email sent to the Production staff is below for all to see what they (Latino Fire Productions) had said!
Their emails are available for any who would like to express their opinions on this scam and lie.
Please be be advised that until now - the Production staff at Starfighters-pi.com had no idea they were being misled and have now severed all communication and relations with Latino Fire Productions. They have 48 hours to delete ALL references to Starfighters on their website or legal action will take place!
This does not mean the Production is dead in the water. Many different avenues have arisen in the past few days. One is with Mr. Brannon Braga - which they will be looking into more over the next few weeks.
Thanks for listening and we hope nobody took offense to all this and the James Marsters fans will watch the show. Who knows - he may be cast for a "guest starring" role if this goes to a series.

Tracey,
Please make reference to our film titled "El Chupacabra, New Blood" when writing/speaking to Steve Himbers about James Marsters.

Um, yeah, righteous indignation and all that. But the email they post at the end doesn't exactly say they had James for the Starfighters thing, does it... Anyhoo, this has kept us entertained for a while on thses long cold wintry days .

I know I'm a bit behind in bringing this, what with having a flurry of social life and all, but it is fun and worth commemorating ;D James as Spock at Star Trek (Reborn) ;D Looking good! I'm also liking the casting of Bones ;D

Ditto brought us this today and I thought it was worth plonking in here TrekWebWhen asked for comments on Nemesis, she reveals that to this day it still surprises her and her fellow cast members that the movie tanked so badly. She also provided the following reasons as to way she thinks it may not have done as well as it should or perhaps could have. "I think the fans want to see the whole team in action, while that was very much Picard taking centre stage. Also..." She added tentatively, "I didn't think Tom [Hardy] was at all convincing as a young Patrick [Stewart]. Don't get me wrong - he's a great, great actor and a really lovely guy. But he didn't look a bit like Patrick At all. They should have cast James Marsters. They auditioned him, you know. I think physically he was much more suitable for the part.

from Bookworm's database at MTS
James speaking at the Tampa Con in 03:
one of the reasons Spike went off to Africa instead of like...Sunnydale....was that I went to Joss and said "The people who are doing the Star Trek movie came to me and said they are writing a part for me. They want me to be Jean_Luc Picard's clone!. and that was just too cool to be believed. So I went to Joss and I said "First of all, this is all your fault. They saw me on your cool show, looking cool, and now they want me to do the cool thing on their show." so he said"Jean_Luc Picard's clone! That's too cool! Oh, my God, I can't get in the way of that! So he rewrote the whole season so I could get out and then they gave the part to somebody else! The casting director told me not to use an English accent in the audition...so, okay, whatever. _________________

Oh come on, Patrick is a stellar, experienced actor with very little side to him. When we first heard about the audition, quite a while back now, and James said he'd been told not to bother with the English accent, I thought that was bad advice. Sometimes you have to spoonfeed these movie guys, not leave it up to their imagination. And then when Ditto said he was wearing his vest and bling as well I thought, no, even when Jean-Luc was a little less straightlaced in his youth, he never blinged it up ;D Sometimes you get the feeling that it's like buying a house - some people can see beyond the current owner's decor; others just can't and run away.

Might be something and nothing, but it's a narrow field... Exclusive: Buffy Alum Rushed to ER?
You know that male-nurse role that ER is currently casting as a love interest for Linda Cardellini? I just heard that one of the finalists used to be on that little vampire show that Joss Whedon did a few years back. And this particular actor was not a mere guest star; he was a series regular. Name and face in the opening credits and all. He's up against some stiff competition for the plum ER part though, including a (Easter egg alert!) popular acting titan. A winner is expected to emerge by week's end. As soon as I know, you'll know (give or take a few seconds). Ausiello ReportWe can safely discount DB ;D Surely not Tony? Was Seth in the titles? I guess he was, but seems incredibly unlikely. MarcB? But I don't recall him being in the titles (then again, I blotted out all things Riley from my brain ;D) Who else does that leave? Nick. And, um, James...
