Do you know, I thought we already had a thread for this, given James' two appearances in the show I distinctly remember writing about his turn as the sweet, completely out of his depth, Reverend Harding in the episode Grosse Pointe 48230 (from the fourth season), but I guess that must have been elsewhere Anyway, for those in the US with the Hallmark Channel, Northern Exposure is being run on a regular basis, and James' first and very brief appearance (as the bellhop in the hotel where Dr Joel and Maggie stay) will be shown on September 22nd at 1-00 am. listings being what they are, though, it will be listed as 21st! The ep is "It Happened in Juneau" and James looks incredibly cute and illegaly young (even though 30 when filmed!). Don't be distracted by the looming moose head or you'll miss him!

Would you like a bit of trivia? The hotel scenes were filmed at The Edgewater Hotel in Seattle (and of course, JM was working in theatre in Seattle at that time) - www.edgewaterhotel.com

Some folks will be able to see James as the cute but hapless Reverend Harding soon!
Grosse Point 48230 is airing Oct 12/13 (I say that cause it is an early morning thing, so will be listed under 12th, but technically will be shown on 13th!), 2-00am on Hallmark (US). Best check your local listing for deviations... oooh er!

Just watched an ep of NE. Not either of JM's. Don't know if I can take having to stay up till 2 am to watch it. Must look into purchasing blank videotapes. Cy, if I get some, and Hallmark shows NE long enough, I'll make you a tape. We've actually been to the town that is supposed to be Cicely (ironic, ay?), Alaska. It's a place called Roslyn, Washington. It's just over the Cascade mountains to the east of us. We've only been there in the summer, but it's a pretty cool place. Roslyn was a coal mining town until the 60's. They were remodeling the restaurant (the building with the mural that the moose walks in front of) last time we were there, so still haven't seen the inside. The bar only allows patrons over 21, so haven't seen the inside of there yet. The doc's office is now a gift shop, but it still says Dr. Joel Fleischman (sp?) on the window. Cool. Ok. So much for trivia. My leg is falling asleep, and it's almost 4 am. Night!

Hallmark are showing "It Happened In Juneau" (the one with JM's wee appearance as the bellhop!) at 02:00 AM (ET) on Friday 8th April - I presume this actually DOES means 8th, and not thearly hours of 9th. You know what devils companies are for classing late night/eatrly morning airings as belonging to the previous day! So double check your listings to make sure. Likewise, Grosse Point 48230 is scheduled for 2nd may at 02:00 AM (ET) *pets the Reverand* They have their schedules up HERE

Heh, I'd heard about the "gag reel" from the extras on the S3 DVD set (the one with JM's teeny appearance as the bellhop) and zandra_x has posted screencaps from it at Marsters Daily - priceless ;D ;D

Gee whiz,I was just coming into this thread to say that I had recently rewatched and enjoyed these 2 episodes. But I am floored with your info that one of the scenes was filmed at the Edgewater! I was just at the Edgewater this summer. They mentioned about the Beatles having stayed there but never a word about James/Northern Exposure. Just as well probably...I really would have embaressed myself....even more than I did by placing my Spike figure all around the lounge and the bar and the dining area to get "Spike Travels" photos.

Lmao. Travelling Spike does the Edgewater. You had him then? How does that work? If I had him the dogs would probably chew him up! Have we got that outtake of James and that fella doing the hugs thing with James looking all embarrassed? He looked about twelve! I can't remember whether I've got that or not....
