Wow, I've really missed out, since I have absolutely none of these recordings, I'm not really familiar with the Harry Dresden stories, but they sound like something I would enjoy!! I'll have to get them all!!

The audio books are getting a bit of publicity now: Book News: BUFFY'S JAMES MARSTERS READS LATEST DRESDEN FILES BOOK ON CD This is Jim Butcher's SUMMER KNIGHT, the fourth novel in his acclaimed Dresden Files series
By: SEAN ELLIOTT Senior Editor
LOCATION: The book world
THE SKINNY: Buzzy Multimedia proudly presents the unabridged audio book version of New York Times best-selling author Jim Butcher's SUMMER KNIGHT, the fourth novel in his acclaimed Dresden Files series. James Marsters reads the tale of Chicago detective - and practicing wizard - Harry Dresden, who is drawn into investigating a murder in the world of Faerie that has the potential for literally Earth-shattering consequences. The 10-CD set is available April 2007. The books are available for purchase through Baker & Taylor and at www.buzzymultimedia.com.
Marsters, famed for his years as Spike on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and ANGEL, has previously performed Buzzy Multimedia's editions of Butcher's earlier Dresden books, STORM FRONT, FOOL MOON and GRAVE PERIL, all of which have met with listener enthusiasm.
Butcher's Dresden books have been adapted for television by Nicholas Cage's production company Saturn Films - the resulting episodic series, THE DRESDEN FILES, is currently running on SciFi Channel.
Buzzy Multimedia, headed by June Williams and Joy Poger, is the premiere independent company producing unabridged science-fiction/fantasy audio books, performed by some of the genre's best-loved actors. Other unabridged audio titles in their catalogue include Sarah A. Hoyt's MET BY MOONLIGHT read by BABYLON 5's Jason Carter, Alan Dean Foster's INTERLOPERS read by Ben Browder of FARSCAPE and STARGATE: SG-1, and Sharon Lee and Steve Miller's LOCAL CUSTOM read by STARGATE SG-1's Michael Shanks. ifmagazine

JAMES TO RECORD FIFTH DRESDEN
[11-6-07] James has been contracted to read his fifth book on tape in the Dresden Files book series. Although Death Masks is the next book in sequence, he will be recording Small Favor, which is the most recent in the series and, according to the Dresden Files website, due for release April, 2008. James will be in the studio later this month to begin the project. A new publishing company, Penguin Audio, has been hired to release the book. More details to be posted when available.
From James's site.
Interesting that they are going way out of sequence (I guess maybe they are aiming to release the audio and the print version at the same time), but good the new guys still wanted James for the job.

Moved for Marilyn: Hey! Just had to say that I got my cds in, 'Small Favor', and it's sooo good! James does a great job with the voices, especially Toot toot and the Russian Sonia(sp)...don't have the book to see the correct spelling.... The storyline is as engaging as always, making it a track turner....similar to a page turner, lol! JB still has alot to give us with Dresden.....

Hey! Sorry, PK! I completely forgot this thread was here, lmao! You know how bad I am about navigating the different sites....maybe you could make up a little bitty map....or I COULD venture out on my own! Still enjoying the hell outta this audio book....James has got alot of characters to cover and he's doing a job...it's on my computer, so I play Alchemy while I listen, and I get completely lost in the storyline, and I hate to stop it....like to sleep.... ;D

Forgot to say yesterday with all the Moonshot excitement, I got the first 4 books on CD yesterday (yay ebay!) and started listening to them in the car. Now I'm not normally a fan of audiobooks, purely because I read so fast and I want them to get on with it! I've not read the novels at all so its totally new to me - and Oh my God - James's voice is mesmerising! (yeah, I do miss the odd bit of the story cos I'm a bit distracted! ) I'm loving it! He does a great job on the charecterisations and the story is good too - really enjoying it so far. Maybe its a good thing its making me listen to every word instead of racing through the book. ;D Will just have to be careful I dont get so distracted by his mesmerising tones that I remember that I'm driving....

James has moved me to tears with some of his character interpretations in these audios. I really think it's some of the best work he's ever done
