I really wish I had more photos of PK. Back then I didn't have a very good camera phone and might have been using a camera. I will do some searching though.

It's good to have the details to put in my diary. I wish I wasn't such a bundle of nerves now, I hates motorways in particular. Deb's insisting she can drive but her health isn't great. We're determined to go though. If her son isn't working he would drive us which would be better.

I haven't been on here for ages but I've just noticed a post on fb by Ditto. Dear Dirty Girls, I am so sorry to hear the sad news. I remember having such great times at cons with you all. PK had a wicked sense of humour and I'll miss that most of all. I will search my photos and see if I can find any that I can upload to remind us of happier times.

I'm relieved that it fits in with work. I would have not been able to focus at work thinking I should be there.
MissK I do hope you can find some photos.

I'm glad they are still there. Several of other people have disappeared. I hope PK was able to let her mum or D know her wishes for her funeral. It's a tricky subject to discuss. H and I talk about our music but never write it down. I know PK was partial to REM.

I've put all my wishes down for sure. Had to help arrange that many funerals lately that it seemed the thing to do. I want any kind of coffin except pine, yellow roses on top in a cross, RC service in fact full requiem make sure everybody knows I'm really gone, keep 'em hanging around If I still live around here then it'll be All Saint's down the bottom of the road, it's a very nice church with a tower like in Florence. I have a fair few fave hymns but you only get time for two and then a CD on the way out of the church, probably Katherine Jenkins Time To Say Goodbye coz it's dead sad. I definitely don't want to be cremated as I have a fear of flames, it'll be bad enough with the claustrophobia!

It's a sobering thought, thinking about mortality.

It was a very emotional day for us and all of PK's friends and family and yet it was quite beautiful too in so many ways. The service was lovely: A heartfelt tribute from D about Erica, their friendship and all her special strengths and character. He did so well but cracked up with emotion near the end. Two old school friends read a poem. Of course there was REM and everybody Hurts which was hauntingly beautiful and we listened and remembered and some probably prayed. PK had a beautiful willow coffin with pretty flowers. As we said farewell at the end we smiled as Bring Me Sunshine rang out. PK's mum was calm and I think happy that her daughter was at peace after all her struggles with her health and life. We hope to meet up with her at some point as we live in the same county. She would like to stay in touch. The Wake was a time for talking about memories and meeting people we had heard about over the years on the forum. Some of her friends had no idea about the forum board but were very grateful and happy when we talked about it. Others did know and had heard about us which was lovely. PK's mum made us laugh when she said PK had told her not to read her fan fic! D is lovely as is PK's god daughter. We aim to meet her in Cardiff next year. We met Foot Friend and the Bognor Buddies amongst others. We were so glad that we were able to attend. It felt so special.

Rosemary was very grateful for the cards she has received and for some of the DGs being able to attend. The order of service was lovely, with photos of a much younger PK
I really enjoyed talking to D, Bognor Buddies, Foot friend and particularly PK's lovely God daughter
Exhausted now as I'm sure you must be Pluto and Deedee

That sounds like a really great service, and appropriate for PK's memory. D is really a great guy, and he was a wonderful friend to PK... Do you know if the Steven who posted the beautiful tribute to Erica is one of the Bognor buddies...I really think they are from the wording of the tribute. It would be really nice if you all could keep up with her mom, and goddaughter. I sent a card a few days ago, she'll probably get it soon, with a couple of pics. I know I have more from the cons, and will send them to her when I find them. She may enjoy seeing some of the things she was able to get to at one time.
