Hey!
Pretty quiet Friday...B and I spent some time in the backyard, really nice out, and ended up weeding the few plants I have left, mostly monkey grass along side of the shed. We don't eat meat on Friday during Lent, so B took a ride to the shrimp lot and got several pounds of shrimp. We boiled some for supper, and I froze the rest. Always good for stir fry or jambalaya!
Ditto, I'm sorry your mom is not doing so well, it's a hard thing to realize. And hopefully you'll get your gardening energy built up, and be able to do more.
Pluto, I hope the headache is better! Is your mom able to dress herself or does the staff help? Lol, no dishwasher but me, and the new sink has been broken in!
Rainbow, any new appointment time yet? That was some good ideas to help you get around, would there be any place to rent a mobile scooter once you're there?
Pk, Teebs, and Deedee, I hope all is well with you all!
Enjoy your weekend...take care, hugs!

Good morning Ditto I've seen that trailer for Ghosts. Looks like it could be fun! We couldn't have coped without the agency help coming in twice a day for mum. If we got funding for it through Social Care surely you must be entitled too Have you checked with Age Concern about volunteers who might do a 'sitting service'? Maybe a little and often with the garden I loves shrimps! They are really expensive over here though. Always puts me in mind of Forest Gump M As children we had shrimping nets for the beach but never got any. M, my mum needs help with dressing because she has restricted movement. She only wears blouse's and cardigan's so she doesn't need to lift her arms up. I'm having to get suitable cardigans online now since we lost one of our best shops. I've found a lovely site for mature and elderly ladies and gentlemen that doesn't cost the earth. There's even clothing that I would wear Off to Howie's when I am up. We have no plans but I hope we can go to the new cafe in the park. He wanted to see that film Shazam but I don't fancy it. Have a good day everyone

you just contact adult social services and ask for an assessment Ditto, maybe one of the sis's could come round to support you if you're nervous, it could make such a difference to have some help

Evening ladies, I hope everyone is well, especially Rainbow after all the trouble and set backs with your knee 🤗. I can’t believe it’s only a week till your holiday 😃 Pluto sounds like you’ve had a lovely day, anything planned for tomorrow ? Enjoy the rest of your weekend 🤗 Hi Ditto, sorry to hear your mums not too good 🤗. It takes a lot out of you doesn’t it ☹️ Lovely that you’ve managed out in the garden for a bit, just take things easy 🤗 M do you and B never have a rest? 😉. I finally got D to cut the grass in the back garden and I’ve got a new tool for the weeds between the paving slabs that he needs to try out 😂 Spent most of this afternoon watching the Melrose rugby 7s on and D will have The Masters golf on after he’s seen Casualty 🙄 so I’ll watch something on Netflix on the I-pad 😊 Have a lovely evening all 🤗

Hey! Not really much to post, lol, typical Saturday...just doing a few chores before Gabe came over. B stored some of the flooring and tools in Gabe's room since it was so close, and he moved those out the way. Travis is coming in on the 24th for almost two weeks for a close friend's bachelor party and wedding, and I will have to do a complete clean up in there, and relocate Gabe's stuff, mostly gaming and videos, to my room. He doesn't mind, usually only here on the Saturday, but this time Easter vacation will overlap with Travis' visit, so Gabe will hang out in my room, and have a sleep over on the sofa in the den. It all works out, lol! Daughter in law will come in on May 3rd, just for the weekend, in time for the wedding. May book them a room at the local casino, if they want...I have some freebies. Ditto, I know it's hard to let strangers in your house, but it may be necessary for you to have some help. Once you meet them, you'll get to know them, and it'll be fine. Linda had nurses dropping in morning and evening right after she would come out the hospital, and they were a blessing, even when she was cross. They see so many different people, and situations, that nothing seems to faze them. And if there are food delivery options, that could be good, too. I don't know if you have that service there...you can get a daily meal delivered to your door here, and also rides to the grocery or doctor from our parish senior council. You could try it, see how it works, and if not just discontinue the service. Rainbow, what day are you and S actually leaving? How long...if you said I've forgotten! I love the excitement of a vacation! Pluto, I hope you and Howie have had a good Saturday and Sunday! I've seen some clothing online that has all Velcro fastenings, so much easier than buttons or zippers for mobility problems. Or maybe I mean agility... Teebs, good to see you, hope you found something good on Netflix. B and I frequently find ourselves watching different tvs cos we don't want to watch the same thing. I'm excited by the hockey playoffs right now, my favorite team, Nashville Predators, are playing the Dallas Stars...my second favorite! Only two games so far, won one apiece, but could go as far as 7 games! Love this time of year! Lol, I think B and I sound busier than we really are. When he was changing the floors, he would work all morning, then we'd tidy up, and rest in the afternoon. He loves to cut the grass since we got a riding mower, so that doesn't really count, lmao!! Well, this was longer than I figured, so gonna cut it short! Take care all...hugs!

morning... up early to take S to work then picking him up at 8.30, suspect he will have a beer or 2 My plan for the day is to sort out the garden. It's a complete mess at the moment and its stopping me enjoying it. Lots of stuff to move, compost bin to get started and old water butt to empty. It used to have fish in it but they are in an old butler sink now. I bought myself a little plastic greenhouse on Friday and have lots of seeds to sort out. I will pace myself as my knee is still painful but better than it was Have a lovely Sunday everyone

Good Morning I'm having a very slow start and am still in bed which is very unusual for me. I have coffee and the sun is shining. No doubt the need for food will get me up. Ditto, I wonder what he is doing in Manchester? I met him in Brighton and got a thumbs up photo from him coming out of the Gents!!!!! That's when I met NN. Happy days I need to watch the Poo film as I adore Ewan McGregor. Hope you have recovered from the gardening and can do more soon. M, busy time ahead for you with visitors. Are you allowed on the mower? I would want to have a go but would probably ruin the lawn Teebs, enjoy the rugby. I wouldn't watch the golf either! There's a lot of sport on the at the moment it seems. Any plans for trips out with your mum? Our only plans for today are continuing with our Who marathon. We're coming to the end of the 10th Doctor. Rainbow will S' s friend who you are going away with be working with him today? He can chivvy him along with positive holiday talk maybe. Hope you get the garden sorted.

sounds like a lovely slow start to the day Pluto and probably just what you need, I've already been careless with lifting something too heavy so having a rest before continuing. S and D don't work together any more D left quite a while ago now. He's tried to persuade S to work at his new place with him but it would mean working weekends which he doesn't want to do

Rainbow I remember you telling me about S not wanting to work weekends now! Good luck with the cable ties. Just home from London, not bad traffic, lovely sunshine and great music in the car. Lazy day finishing off Who with the 10th Doctor. We both got really emotional again! I hope the weather is finally perking up

Hey! Beautiful sunshiny day, a little cool...have to enjoy it cos I know we won't have many more like it! We'll be all sweaty and yucky in no time, like you're supposed to in New Orleans, lol! Pluto, sounds like the perfect weekend, and again, I have to say how lucky you are to find someone that likes so many of the same things as you! How long is the drive from home to London? I saw once something about paying a toll or fee for driving into London, is that true? Hope work treats you kindly... Rainbow, you should try to rest that knee as much as possible, although I can see how you'd want to finish what you started with the greenhouse! How big is it? Duck tape is so useful, keep a couple of rolls around for whatever! Are your beautiful terrariums still going good? And I hope work is good to you, too! Ditto, the riding mower has been great, paid for itself cos we had someone come and cut it every week when B was working...the yard is really big, too big for what we need really, and B can't handle the heat like he used to! I hope you and your mom had a good day after the early start. Teebs, I hope you had a good weekend! PK and Deedee, take care! Kind of busy week, Gabe has his band concert on Wednesday afternoon, 545, which is stupidly early, but that's how it is. He'll come here, eat supper, change clothes, and we will drive him back to the school. His mom will come directly from work cos she doesn't get off until 5! Not sure if his dad will even get there, his work crew is working out of town about an hour away, and not likely to have time to get there. Then Friday, we are all going to the Island View, B and I both have rooms, and Mindy and family will use one, and we will use the other. Little sis and family will probably meet us up there Saturday to hang out and have a meal with. Little sis and her family...hubby and two girls...are flying to Chicago on Monday to sightsee and be there for Cindy's school safety presentation. She is actually writing a book based on her 'active shooter/school safety' dissertation, and she will using that material to present. Very proud of her ! party-smiley-01 Well, going to check on supper, put on a pot of cabbage and boneless pork chops...smells to high heaven in here But we love it! Take care all...hugs!

Good morning Lol at the cabbage and chop smell M. That took me right back to a tatty old sweet shop run by an ancient old lady who's shop always smelled of cabbage! The drive can take anything from 1 hour 40 to 2 hours depending on traffic. At the moment there is major work on the motorway for the next year with a 50 mile an hour limit. It's rather tedious. In central London there is a congestion charge but I don't go far enough in to pay it. It was supposed to keep traffic out of central London but I heard that it does not work. We are regularly on the bus and the traffic is terrible! What a lovely week weekend ahead for you and the family. Well done Cindy I have a morning in the park with a family. The mum and the almost 12 year old find it hard to leave their house so this will be a push for them. Hope it's not too chilly! Have a good day everyone

Hey! Extra quiet in here! I thought I'd check in and see if PK or the rest of the MIAs had posted, and it looks like Nope! It's noon here, not my usual time to post cos, well, my mornings that we aren't working in the house are pretty dull, lol! Folding towels are the high life so far...don't get all Rainbow, hope the visits went well...and Happy Birthday to A! LEGOLAND sounds just the thing for an active kid his age! And yooohooo to beginning of vacation time! Pluto, I hope your morning in the park was nice, not too cold! Why do the mom and daughter have problems leaving the house...mentally or physically? Is the daughter able to go to school? That sounds like a rough way to live for a preteen! It's actually cool this morning, sitting here in my favorite, tacky but warm, red sweater...but it's sunshiny outside, and I think the house is colder inside than out! May have to go sit outside later and enjoy the sun! I hope all the no posters show up, and tell us what's going on...hugs to all!

Hope you are not driving tomorrow Rainbow! Hope you can dodge the showers too! They should clear up by mid day if they happen at all. Picnic sounds yummy! Looking forward to piccies on FB M, I did at your folding towels It wa a son and his mum. She has high anxiety and was ok till the park started filling up. He has sensory and behavioural difficulties and can't go to mainstream school. It was their first trip out during the school break. It was good to see them laughing together as he often beats her up.I went on a zip wire, woohoo! It was sunny and a lovely start to my week. My sister came for tea after visiting my mum. I saw mum briefly as I took her new clothes in and her fudge so she was very happy. Missing you others!!!! OMG just seen that fire at Notre Dame! How sad. I hope they can save the building but it looks like it has taken hold.
