Another wacky quote from a James interview!
Here is a long overdue fresh Prattle... But now tea has arrived so will have to come back later.

I thought we still had 20 posts to go.
I want to decorate a cake. Maybe I'll do a sponge for Easter.
More clearing done at home. It's never-ending! Lots to do in the garden too. Rainbow and Ditto do you know of an environmentally friendly way to get rid of weeds, especially those that get through paving slabs.
Hope everyone is ok.

I thought we went to 500 posts Weed removal will be tricky if I have to move paving slabs and brick work. I'll continue cutting as low as possible for now. Stuffed with pie and mash!

Hey!
Late night for me, don’t know why, lol! Skyped with Travis, and then played endless solitaire on the computer...very dull! I was half asleep!
New prattle! Thanks, PK...hope your tea was nice!
Rainbow, that doctor’s visit can’t come fast enough! Will you try to go to work?
Pluto, you’re working hard! Why are weeds so hard to get rid of?!
Ditto, hope you make it for laundry day!!
Teebs, thinking of you and your family today...hugs.
Take care all...hugs!

Good morning I hope your knee improves with pills and movement Rainbow Teebs, thinking of you and your family today M, I get hooked on endless games of Solitaire too, especially in bed when I am settling down for the night. I turn the brightness of the screen down and set myself a goal of best of three games but usually do 'just one more' several times! Re the weeds, some of those blighters have long roots which refuse to be pulled out and if they can't be dug up out of soil they are a problem. Tricky appointment this morning, quiet afternoon and my sister will be coming after work. Have a good day everyone

I was up early for me too as I had urgent bladder business to attend to, then seeing as I was up anyway I had my shower before breakfast. Then it was the GP's rounds, and after that my damaged toes had to be redressed after the plasters fell off in the shower. The good thing is that the entire toenail on the one was ready to come off too, after which my foot was photographed by the nurse, for goodness sake! At least it doesn't hurt.
Rainbow, what kind of pain relief are you on? Whatever it is clearly isn't enough.
Pluto, I used an environmentally friendly weedkilling spray which worked very well and kept weeds at bay for many months at a time. Unfortunately I can't remember its name but it was bought in a decent garden centre so a rootle, ha, around on the shelves should find you something suitable. With any luck that should tide you over and make everything smart enough for house viewings without you having to be the one to dig out roots.
Teebs, hope everything went okay today.

Thanks PK, I think going to the garden centre is the best option. Howie said he looked online but couldn't find anything. I can always ask as well when I go. Sounds like you were super organised this morning. I hope your toenail grows back quickly. Ok day at work. Day off tomorrow as my dad's old friend from work is coming to look at and hopefully take away lots of dad's railway books. Not sure if his wife s coming but he has a mate driving him and as before he insists on taking me out to lunch. This is third time lucky for the visit so fingers crossed! Teebs how is you mum? I bet you're all exhausted What are you up to Ditto?

Hope your toe is soon better
Hope it all goes ahead tomorrow Pluto

Evening all, apologies for being mia, but it’s been a weird few days 🙄
Thank you all for your very kinds words 🤗. It wasn’t too bad today thankfully and E was a great help with mum. Hopefully mum will be slightly better now, she has been getting worked up because both her sisters have passed away just a couple of weeks before their birthdays and mum will be 93 at the end of the month I’ll be so relieved when it’s May.
The tip R gave you for weeds is a good one P, the water left in the bowl after washing up helps keep them at bay 😉. We’re not too tired, but mum keeps nodding off now and again, I think she’ll sleep well tonight.
Oh dear R how awful to be woken up by your painful knee ☹️ Is it another week before your appointment? I do hope you can catch up tonight 🤗
😮 PK I’m cringing reading about your toenail, how uncomfortable for you and also mysterious as to how it happened. 🤔
Hey M hope you’re well, has B finished the kitchen floor? I should really read back properly 🙄
Hi to Deedee and Ditto 👋

Hey! B has finished the kitchen floor, putting in the thresholds and caulking the molding joints...looks very nice! Next, he says, is replacing the kitchen sink...really needs it! Then, probably, the last room to needing flooring...the front room that we use for a computer area, and B's office desk, which is retired, lol, like him, but still manages to get covered in papers and mail! PK, that poor toe makes me cringe, too...your poor toes have always been a problem area for you! I hope it heals quickly, and grows back. Did the GP have anything to say about the toe? Any flat news? Teebs, I'm glad today wasn't too stressful, and I hope your mom is feeling more herself now. It is a hard thing realizing your own mortality, I feel it myself, you get to feeling vulnerable the older you get. Rainbow, I wonder if the doctor will recommend new x-rays or a scan to see where the problem area is on your knee. Could be a torn meniscus, which would need action on his part, not just meds! Does the naproxen mess up your stomach? It works really well for me, but I have to take an antacid before I take the pills! Pluto, I hope the railway books make tracks, one less thing for you to have to fuss with! Nice to have lunch out! Ditto, where are you? I think I see you posting on FB, but I'm not sure if it's you or your daughter! Did the sofa arrive yet? Deedee, hope the weather is good, and you, too! Take care...hugs!

Good morning Bit of a lie in for me. I have no idea when they might arrive though. I think they are coming from Buckinghamshire. Teebs, I hope your mum does not dwell on it too much and enjoys her birthday when it arrives That is a grand age! Hope you both slept well. Lol M, you are talking like a pro, thresholds, caulking and molding joints! You are a proper builder's mate. Those railway books need to make tracks they are taking up too much room in the sitting room. We are keeping just a couple and still have other railway stuff to keep dad's passion going. Sofa news is needed Ditto!!! Hope you get through the day ok Rainbow Have a good one PK

What a lovely break for you DeeDee. It's good to have a change of scenery Today went very well. Jim and his friend were amazed at the amount of railway books. They probably took well over 200. Jim had a print that my dad wanted him to have too. They also took three tins and a box of train tickets, some going back to the 50's and beyond. They have about 75 members in their railway society so there will be good homes for everything. I was treated to lunch. I took them to the beach cafe although it was raining and bleak. I had bacon, brie and cranberry panini. Good result with a late cancellation Rainbow!

Hey! Ditto, that's a horror story! So sorry it all went for you with something that should've been an easy task! I hope the nephew is able to fix it up for you! How about the other sofa, is it what you needed? We missed you, just come on and tell us what's bothering you, may make you feel better. Deedee, that sounds like a really nice little getaway, fun to spend the night away, and eat food you didn't have to cook or prepare yourself! Pluto, that railway society seems like the perfect home for your dad's books! How did he ever carry away so many? Lol, I asked Sarah if she would like some of the children's books I have on the shelves...so many...and she was happy to have them for her own first little classroom library, and it took two plastic tubs, and not nearly as many or size those books must've been! Hope the work day is a good one! Rainbow, I hope you got the early night you needed, and that the work day is a good one! PK, how's the toe? Do you have to take any antibiotics because of it? I hope you have a good day, with attentive staff, and a yummy meal! Teebs, I hope you and your mom are recuperating, and feeling more yourselves. B got the new sink today, lol, stainless steel instead of porcelain like the one now, and it's sitting in the middle of the kitchen waiting for B to put the sink drains in...they have to be puttied in, and tightened, which required a new tool. I never knew how many tools there were for every little task, but thank goodness they do! Like you say, Pluto, I am getting some serious DIY knowledge! Good music lesson, they sound really good, learning new songs. Take care all...hugs!
